Bishop Noreen CrockerBISHOP, Audrey 'Noreen' (nee Crocker)  - Audrey Noreen Bishop (nee Crocker), known as Dr. Crocker professionally and Noreen in her personal life, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Friday May 7, 2021 in her 93rd year.

Predeceased by her husband, Rev. Neville Bishop, loving Mother of Elizabeth (Jeff) Leblanc and Tim (Tara) Bishop and Grandmother to Mark and Rachael Leblanc and Jack, Dylan, Zoe, Charlie and Sadie Noreen Bishop. Noreen will be greatly missed by her family and loved ones.

Noreen was born to Alex and Valetta Crocker in Mt. Dennis (now Toronto) in 1928. She graduated from University of Toronto 1952 and set up shop as a Family Physician. She joined Northwestern General Hospital when the doors opened and continued practicing her love of medicine, in one form or another, for over 68 years through to March 2021.

In her work as an Obstetrician, she delivered literally generations of babies for some families.

Noreen’s many interests and hobbies included her love of animals, tending to her gardens, enjoying classical music at the Toronto Symphony, listening to opera (Pavarotti) especially while she cooked, entertaining her many close friends, fine dining, appreciation of the arts and spoiling her grandchildren rotten. Her love for world travel took her on many wonderful adventures to Florida, Europe, Asia, South America, the Arctic and Russia.

Those who knew her over the years got to experience her fierce independence, generosity, determination, loyalty and her love of her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a professional and compassionate physician, well respected by her peers and coworkers and beloved by her patients.

Arrangements entrusted with Ward funeral homes. Those who wish to join us in honouring her life and legacy will be able to watch the service via live stream on Monday, May 17th at 11am.

Following the service, there will be a private family gathering at Sanctuary Park where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Neville.

Donations in her memory are gratefully requested to be directed to the Ontario SPCA, the Toronto Humane Society or a charity of your choice that cares for or protects the welfare of animals.
