Morris SylvesterMORRIS, Sylvester Wilesley - Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully on Friday, May 7th, 2021 at the age 91 in his home in Scarborough, Ontario.

Sylvester Wilesley Morris was born in Somerton District Street, St James, Jamaica, on May 28, 1929 and was the fourth of 11 children born to Alfred Morris and Florence Amanda Heinz.

Sylvester is survived by his wife Daisy Morris (nee Buchanan), his daughters Carolyn Morris-Walker and Tracy Dixon.

He will be missed by his 4 grandsons, Matthew Walker, Jason McIntyre, Alec Dixon and Ian Dixon; 6 great grandchildren, Myka Walker, Oaklyn McIntyre, Linkoln Dixon, Luna Dixon, Aria Dixon, Norah Dixon, stepson Dennis Gayle and his daughter Alex Gayle.

Family and friends will be received at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, 4115 Lawrence Ave. East on Friday May 14, 2021 from 10:00am-1:00pm & 3:00pm-6:00pm

A private family service will also take place at the funeral home on Saturday May 15th at 11:00am and the internment will follow at Pine Hills Cemetery, 625 Birchmount Road, SCARBOROUGH, Ontario M1K 1R1.

Sylvester had an adventurous heart and spirit which compelled him to leave his homeland Jamaica in 1948 and he resided in Baltimore Maryland for a short time. He returned to Jamaica and in 1951 he left again to reside in London, England, where he became a welder, married and started a family.

In the early 70's Sylvester was hit by the "itch" to travel to some where new and he arrived in Toronto, Canada, where his family joined him. He remarried and worked as a steel worker until he retired. Sylvester's vibrant and kind personality made family, friends and strangers gravitate to him, he loved music, dancing, travelling but most of all he loved being surrounded by his family. He will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers donations to Morningstar Christian Fellowship Church would be appreciated by the family. https://www.morningstarfellowship.ca/give/

The family will arrange a proper memorial service in the future to celebrate Sylvester's life. We appreciate your support and understanding.
