HALL, Joan (nee McCOURT)   -  Passed away peacefully, with family at her side, on Monday, May 10, 2021, at Lisaard House Hospice, in her 91st year.

Predeceased by her husband George (2010) and her brothers Jack and Billy.

Loved mom to Arlene LeCrom (Robért), Mark (June), Joyce Lewis (Grant) and Janice Weiler (Rich); cherished grandma to Jacqueline and Nicole Lewis, Ben, Glen, John, and Dan Hall, and Tristan Weiler.

Also survived by many dear cousins in Northern Ireland and her many nieces and nephews in both Canada and Ireland. Joan was born and raised in Toronto in the Dundas and Dovercourt area and then raised a family in Scarborough. Joan worked for many years at Bell and later at Scarborough General Hospital.

Joan first travelled to Northern Ireland in 1957 to meet family who also became lifelong friends.

She enjoyed many subsequent trips there over the years. Joan and George settled in Ayr in 1993.

As well as having her family gather for a Sunday dinner, Joan loved to bake, shop, knit, read and watch mysteries. She was known to her grandchildren for her generosity, loving nature, her 'tickle trunk' and an intense love of giving socks as gifts.

She had the ability to make conversation with anyone and loved to have lunch out, especially with her friends in Ayr who welcomed her to the community so warmly.

Cremation followed by Interment at Ayr Cemetery.

Donations to the Ronald McDonald House or Lisaard House would be appreciated.
