Sellers JeanSELLERS, Marjory 'Jean' (Buie) - (1920 - 2021) - Jean (Buie) Sellers enjoyed a long and eventful life and passed away at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket on May 16, 2021, after a short illness.

She maintained excellent health for most of her 100 years and was proud to be living in her own home at the time of her 100th birthday party.

Jean will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humour, kindness, energy and strong love of family.

Born on September 13, 1920, in Neebing, Ontario, Jean was the youngest of six children born to Neil and Edith (Belton) Buie. She married in 1942 and was predeceased by her husband Ernest in 1976.

The family moved from Fort William, now part of Thunder Bay, to Scarborough in 1969. Jean soon established herself in her new home, working in offices, travelling in Canada and further abroad and volunteering until well into her 80s.

Predeceased by her children Lois (2013), Carol (2020) and Ernie (2020), she is survived by Helen (Jack) and Susan, daughter-in-law Pauline (Ernie) and grandchildren Melinda, Laura (Stephen) and Anna.

She moved into care in November 2020, with Susan as her designated caregiver. She kept in touch with the rest of her family, including numerous nieces and nephews, by phone.

She will remain in our thoughts always. May she rest in peace after her long journey.

A private service for the family will be held at a later date due to Covid restrictions. Arrangements entrusted with Paul O'Connor funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a charity of your choice.
