King KristopherKING, Kristopher Kevin - (October 18, 1974 - May 16, 2021) -

Dearly beloved, friends and family, we are gathered here today to remember and celebrate the life of Kristopher Kevin King, born October 18th, 1974.

He was 46 years of age at the time of his passing, and left us on Saturday May 14, 2021.

From a very young age Kristopher Kevin King was determined to mark his own path through life. Born in Toronto, Canada to parents Jennifer and Angus King, Kris was the second oldest of four siblings, a mischievous middle child who loved physical sports, from skateboarding to basketball.

His sense of humour was never lacking, and he could laugh at himself just as easily as he could laugh at others.

Anyone who met Kris can agree that he may have been a trickster, and he may not have always lived up to our hopes, but he was never mean-spirited or vindictive. He did not belittle or condemn others, and preferred to keep an open mind about everything. He made mistakes, like all of us, but he was a very forgiving person who did not hold a grudge, and was not the kind of person to speak poorly of others in a malicious way.

Although he received a traditional Caribbean upbringing in many ways, Kristopher’s adventurous, inquisitive spirit could not be bound by social conventions. Status and the acquisition of wealth never appealed to him. Although he was highly intelligent, he did not value a formal education. His philosophical, fun-loving spirit was always in pursuit of something none of us could name.

Kristopher was a nephew, an uncle, a son, a brother, lover, and friend, but he refused to be defined or confined by any of these identities. In his quest for freedom from the trials and constraints of life, he paid the ultimate price, leaving behind a brother, two sisters, a mother, father, three beautiful daughters and their grieving mothers.

He was in the world, but did not want to be a part of it. He was of the world, but did not feel at home here among us. We cannot know why he made the choices he made, but we can take comfort in the good he left behind: Desiree, his eldest daughter by Nicole Laforge, Chance, his second daughter by Monique Callari, and Shenaiyah, the youngest by Chauntae Walls.

Rest in peace, Kristopher King, and may God welcome you with loving arms into his eternal kingdom until we meet again.

Arrangements entrusted with Rosar-Morrison funeral home.
