GEORGE, Donalda Rosalind (nee BULL) - Died on Friday, June 11, 2021, in her 79th year, following a lengthy illness.
Wife of Graeme, mother of daughters Tracey Dion (Daniel) and Kelly Kay (Andrew) and grandmother to Erin Kay and Joel Kay.
Donna was a woman of varied interests and many firsts.
In the early 1960's, she was among the first women to race at Mosport.
Her love of speed brought challenges when stopped for speeding on local highways when her only excuse was "but I like to go fast".
A committed nurse and graduate of Scarborough General Hospital, she also became one of the first RNA Practice Advisors at the College of Nurses of Ontario, travelling to the far reaches of northern Ontario to make presentations.
Donna had attended St. Clement's School and Branksome Hall and was an active member of the alumni.
She was a creative writer, storyteller, painter, and photographer, and enjoyed theatre and art galleries.
A private family memorial will be held to honour Donalda's feisty spirit.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff on Birch Wing at Orchard Villa LTC for their compassionate care of Donalda and her family.
Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region are welcomed.
