Mohring HanneloreMOHRING, Hannelore - Died peacefully in her sleep on June 15, 2021 at Sunnybrook Palliative Care after a short battle with cancer.

Predeceased by her husband, Reimer, and her son, Reimer, as well as her brothers in Germany, Hans, Siegfried and Gunter.

She is survived by her daughter, Susi (Rich) Huber of Conestogo, her six grandsons, Derek (Annette), Marty (Lynsi), Graham, Daniel, Sebastien (Katherine) and Christain, and step-granddaughters, Georgia (Scott) and Emily (Joerge), three great-grandchildren and her nieces and nephews in Germany.

Hannelore was born in Berenstat, Saxony, Germany on July 22, 1929 where she spent her youth.

After the war, she left for Hamburg where she met her husband Reimer and assisted him with his translating business. Reimer’s wanderlust brought them to western Canada in 1952. They eventually joined friends in Toronto in 1958, settling in Leaside with their two children, Reimer and Susanne. Leaside is where she made her life and an important life-long friendship with Inge and her family.

Thanks to the palliative care unit at Sunnybrook and her family doctor for all their care. Special thanks to Lise, her friend and neighbour, for all her help and companionship to Hannelore in her final days.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre or the Daily Bread Food Bank.
