SMITH, Monte - Age 81, passed away peacefully July 6, 2021.
Monte was born in Nakusp, British Columbia to Queenie and Harold.
He was the youngest of three siblings Richard, Les, and Shirley.
Monte spent his childhood in Edgewood, BC. He began his early banking career with Scotiabank in Vernon then transferred to Kingston, Jamaica.
It was in Kingston where he met his wife.
His career with Scotiabank spanned over 40 years including the Scotia Plan loan department in Toronto auditing around the Caribbean, Assistant Manager Belize and Manager in Cayman and Dominica returning to Toronto in retirement in 2003.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn of 47 years; son Cameron; daughter Caroline and son-in law Matt; and family & friends.
The memorial service will take place at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, Markham on Wednesday, July 14th, 2021.
