Veater ThomasVEATER, Thomas Henry  -  Passed away at his residence in Oro-Medonte on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at the age of 84.

Tom Veater, beloved husband of Diane Veater (nee Mackey).

Loving father of Laurel McHale (Dennis) and James Veater (Sue).

Loved by his grandchildren Darryl McHale (Katherine), Gregory McHale, Jay Veater (Terri-lynn), Ben Veater (Iolanda), Josh Veater and Allie Veater.

Cherished great-grandfather of Hannah Madill-McHale, Evan McHale, Samantha Veater and Thomas Veater.

Dear brother of Eleanor Peddle (Graham).

Our beloved Tom/Dad/Papa was a wonderful friend to all he has known over his almost 85 years!

Avid fisherman, drummer, painter and woodworker.

Meeting the love of his life while drumming at Hope United Church in Toronto.

He had a career with the Metropolitan Toronto Police Department for 22 years; cub leader in Scarborough; owner of the Corner Store in Minett, Muskoka; along with selling real estate and building and renovations for 10 years.

Twenty five winters spent in Dunedin, Florida, where he was totally involved in all things social.

Finally retiring for the third time he and Diane moved from Minett to spend 13 years in a very social neighbourhood in Bracebridge before joining with their family in 2018 in a move to a very special place, "Veater Ridge Acres" in Oro-Medonte, where he passed away quietly surrounded by family.

He was loved by all and will be dearly missed. He truly was a light in our lives.

Cremation has taken place. A gathering to celebrate Tom's life will be held for family and friends at a later date.

If desired, memorial donations to the Mariposa House Hospice, Sick Kids or The Salvation Army would be appreciated.
