Whitfield ShirleyWHITFIELD, Shirley (Moses) - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Shirley on Tuesday, July 6, 2021.

She was predeceased by her first husband (Trevor Moses).

Cherished wife of Terence Whitfield, loving mother to her sons Andrew & his wife Jenn, Steven & his wife Jen, step-daughter Sheryl & her husband Dan, and step-son Paul.

Proud nana to Trevor, Lauren, Danielle, Adrienne, Emily, and Lara. Dear sister to Linda Pears & her late husband Alan.

She was a strong independent caring woman who emigrated from England to Canada in 1967 with her husband Trevor & son Andrew.

Not long after arriving they welcomed son Steven to the world. She immediately embraced her new country forming many friendships along the way.

A few years after the passing of her husband Trevor in 1982, she met her current husband Terry while on a trip to Florida with her friend Marjorie. They felt an instant connection and soon discovered while talking that they both lived in the GTA and from there their relationship blossomed.

Shirley will be greatly missed by family & friends

A special thank you to the staff at Southlake Regional Health Centre Cancer Care Unit for their kind and compassionate care they provided during her last days making sure she was comfortable.

In keeping with her wishes, a small private ceremony will be held in the near future. A celebration of life will be held when Covid protocols allow.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a charity of your choice in her honour.
