BELYEA, Marilyn Ann - 1955 - 2021 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Marilyn Ann Belyea (Volikis).
Marilyn passed peacefully in sleep at St. Michael's Hospital of natural causes at approximately 1:30 a.m. on July 22, 2021.
She is survived by her daughter, Anthea Volikis and her loving grandchildren, Isaiah Wilson and Aniya Wilson.
Marilyn also leaves behind loving family including sisters Bonnie White, Sandra McLeod (Thomas McLeod - deceased) and their families, and brothers Ernest Belyea (Mira Acs) Douglas Cunningham and Richard Cunningham (Hope Mitchell) and their families.
Marilyn was a proud graduate of Jarvis Collegiate Institute in Toronto where she was an acknowledged soloist in the school choir and the Madrigals.
After JCI, she went on to create "People with a Purpose", a social justice organization formed to improve the lives of inner city and racially diverse citizens in the City of Toronto.
While it never received the widespread government support it deserved, in the years that it operated it did a great deal of good for people without privilege.
In her later years Marilyn lived happily near the Beaches in Toronto and enjoyed spending as much time with her family as possible.
A private family funeral was held on July 29, 2021 in Newmarket, Ontario.
