GILBERT, Ruth Meredith (nee CHAMBERS) - (June 20, 1938 – August 11, 2021)
In her 84th year, after a brave battle, we lost the cherished wife of 55 years of R. Anthony Gilbert.
Daughter of the late Ruth Meredith Chambers and late G. Douglas Chambers.
Sister to Nancy J. Chambers (Patriarche) of Whitby. Aunt, Great-Aunt, and Great-Great-Aunt to many and proud of them all.
Dynamic and beautiful Mother and Grammy to: Charles (Kathy) of Sandy Hook, CT (Christopher, William and Andrew); Jefferson (Alison) of Prince Edward County (Wyatt and Jasper); and Meredith Tutching (Sean) of Toronto (Molly and Claire). A life spent engaging in the sports and activities of her children and latterly her grandchildren.
Ruthy and her family were raised as "Children of Lake Ontario" where she resided at Thickson's Point until her passing.
The Beach – and her view – sustained her through her later life.
As was her wish, a private family gathering will take place when the time is right, silverware is polished, and everyone is able to identify what spoon is for soup.
