Speers BrianSPEERS, Brian Michael - September 20, 1980 to August 28, 2021 -

After successfully defeating cancer three times we lost Brian earlier this week due to complications from the many treatments he was undergoing.

Each time he battled with courage and quiet dignity.

Brian was a devoted husband, best friend and soulmate to his wife, Paula Carpenter.

He was a loving son to his parents, MaryLou and (the late) Glenn Speers, sisters, April (Dan) and Heather, parents-in-law, Paul & Barb Carpenter and sisters-in-law Joanne and Tara (Paul).

As the ‘fun uncle’ he is survived by his nieces and nephews: Alex, Myah, Kennedy, Parker, Holly and Sydni and godson, Luke all of whom consider him to be more than just an uncle -- and his fur baby, Sandy.

Brian lived in Norfolk County for most of his life.

Brian’s family extends their heartfelt thanks to the health-care professionals at the Juravinski Hospital and loving care of Dr. Wasi and team. Brian was the recipient of two stem cell transplants, and he would encourage everyone to donate blood and register for the stem cell program to help save lives (blood.ca).

Brian’s Celebration of Life will be offered at 3:00 p.m. Monday, September 6 at the Waterford Community Church, 726 Thompson Rd. E. only for invited family and friends due to COVID-19 restrictions. Friends and family are invited to visit with Brian’s family at the Waterford Community Church on Monday, September 6th.

Brian’s family asks that if you are attending the visitation or celebration of life to come casual and wear bright colours instead of black just as he would have wanted.

For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, Brian’s family would appreciate donations to the South Coast Community Caring for Cancer c/o Jessica Durka or to the Juravinski Hospital.
