FERGUSON, Frederick Woodrow   - Passed away peacefully, at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Toronto, on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the age of 87 years.

Woody was preceded in death by his beloved wife Wilda (nee Smith) who passed away in 2016, after both being inseparable in life, and having celebrated 59 wedding anniversaries together.

Loving father of David, Michael, and Philip and his wife Charleen.

Cherished grandfather of Krystal and her husband Michael, and Patrick and his wife Jenna.

Proud great-grandfather of Jack, Beau and Isla. Dear brother-in-law of Melvin (Mel) and his wife Harriett of Edmonton, Alberta. Fondly remembered uncle of Peter, Rand, Pamela and Andrew.

Will be sadly missed by his family, friends, and neighbours.

Woody was born and raised in Moncton, New Brunswick where he met Wilda in grade school. They wed in Moncton and moved to Toronto in 1956 where they lived ever since.

During and after a long and distinguished career in finance at Black & McDonald, Woody enjoyed playing golf at Scarboro Golf & Country Club.

He loved to temporarily escape winters by traveling with Wilda for a week or two in Florida or on board many cruises over the years.

He and Wilda would spend springs, summers and falls working in their large flower and vegetable garden. Both Woody and Wilda were passionate about the game of bridge, and played regularly with their many friends who shared the same interest.

For years after retirement, Woody would selflessly volunteer his time to drive cancer patients to and from their appointments.

The family would like to thank the medical team at Sunnybrook for the assistance in his battle against cancer. The family will be holding a private service at a future date.

If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society are appreciated.
