Ioannidis PaulIOANNIDIS, Pavlos 'Paul' - Passed away on September 19, 2021.

Fought a courageous battle with cancer over the last two years and demonstrated unwavering bravery, never complaining or burdening his family with the challenges he faced.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 66 years Athena, son Evagelos (Jannett), daughter Eleni (Steve), son Georgios (Cathy), grandson Christopher (Daniella), granddaughter Stefanie (Patrick), extended families (Webb, Ciccolini, Bodemann, Moreira, Alcock), his relatives in Greece and Australia, friends and neighbours, and the East York and St. Demetrious Greek Orthodox communities.

Predeceased by his mother Triantafilia (Canada, 1988), his father Dimitri (Greece, 1940) and brothers Nicolas (Canada, 1977) and Andreas (Canada, 2017).

Born in Kratero, Greece in 1929, Pavlos was a member of the Greek military. When he left the military, he married Athena in 1955 and shortly thereafter became a father.

In 1966, Pavlos made the brave decision to leave family and friends behind and bring his immediate family to Canada to join his brothers for better opportunities.

Pavlos worked tirelessly and built a better life for his family in Toronto.

Pavlos will be dearly missed by his family and friends who will always remember him sitting in his chair on the porch in his favourite spot, with a smile on his face and a trademark hat on top of his head. Forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Centre, Toronto on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. The service will take place at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 30 Thorncliffe Park Dr. Toronto on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 10:00AM.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in the memory of Pavlos Ioannidis to Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre or Michael Garron Hospital.

Pavlos was blessed to have incredible medical teams, nurses, doctors, and health care providers who deeply cared for his wellbeing over the last number of years. For the kindness they showed to Pavlos, we are forever grateful.
