HUMBAL, Julia (nee Obermann) - It is with great sadness that the family of Julia Humbal (nee Obermann), 98, announces her peaceful passing on Sunday, October 24, 2021.
Julia was born in Gasinci, Croatia of the former Yugoslavia on October 10, 1923. She immigrated to Canada with her husband and son in 1953.
After 65 years of marriage, Julia was predeceased by her husband Peter Humbal. Julia is survived by her son Steven Humbal (Sherry) and daughter Maria (Robert Biermann), grandchildren Erich Humbal (Lynn), Mark Humbal, Jessica (Eric Snyder), Jakob Biermann (Shauna) and great grandchildren Julia, Stephanie and Erich Humbal, Ella and Jace Biermann, Kayla Snyder and Liam Humbal.
Our mother, grandmother and great grandmother will be remembered for many things, but mostly for her determination to keep as much independence as possible and the courage it took her to endure these past few years right up until the day she passed.
