CHAPMAN, Merle Adelle (nee WATSON) - November 5, 1940 - October 29, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our sister, Merle, at Sunnybrook Hospital, surrounded by family.
Merle was a lifetime resident of North Toronto.
She lived in and contributed to the Yonge-Eglinton area most of her adult life.
She was a member of St. Clement's Anglican Church where she participated in the Brownies, Guides, 1st North Toronto Rangers and Trefoil Guild.
She graduated from Blythwood Public School, North Toronto Collegiate and Ryerson, leading to a career with Shell Oil until her retirement.
She was a loving, giving, caring person who engaged in activities with various neighbourhood clubs and associations. She was known for her loud and colourful dress and had an optimistic view of the world around her.
She is survived by her brother, Bruce Watson and wife, Liz, nephew, Jon Watson (Lilian Lukezic), niece, Jennifer Williams, and grand-nephews, Jake and Cole; and brother, Brian Watson and life partner, Nidia. We will all miss you dearly, but know that you are at peace with husband, Ross.
She was interred with a private family graveside service.
For those who wish, donations may be made in memory of Merle to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
