Pierre FrederickPIERRE, Frederick Ignatius   -

January 19, 1928  -  January 5, 2024

Passed peacefully, of natural causes at St. Joseph's Hospital in Toronto with his family by his side, in his 96th year.

Fred was a loving father to Andrew Pierre (Teresa) and Johan Wolff (Michaela); and a cherished grandfather to Rochelle, Camille (James), Sophia, Magnus, Dominic, Toa, Isabelle, Sacha and Nina.

He will be sadly missed by his brother, Cecil (Eleanor); and fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and extended family.

Fred was predeceased by his sister, Jane (Edith Cecily).

Fred was orphaned as a young boy and had adventures in the jungle before he came to Canada from Guyana in 1974.

He was a true survivor – he knew how to cook well, and how to hunt for food with his .22.

He married late and established himself as a bookkeeper/accountant. He was frugal, and was always prepared for the worst. He was a cricket enthusiast, he loved music and he enjoyed listening to Talk Radio, calling in from time to time in his younger days.

He'll be remembered for his sayings, for example "The quick cent is better than the slow dollar." He was well loved and will be missed.

Friends will be received from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10th, at Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. Vigil prayers at 8:00 p.m.  A Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, January 11th, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 263 Roncesvalles Ave., Toronto, with a reception in the church hall immediately following. Cremation will take place.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Frederick to the Oratory of St. Philip Neri (https://oratory-toronto.org/) would be appreciated by the family.
