NICHOL, Myrna Eileen Nichol   - Passed away with family by her side at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Saturday August 26, 2017 at the age of 64.

Born on Grand Manan Island in New Brunswick, Myrna, sometimes known as Dimpy, lost her mother in an accident as a teenager and left school to help raise her youngest siblings.

 

Later she married Bruce and travelled with him to Ontario where she worked at Affiliated Medical and Oshawa General Hospital.

Myrna was an avid Wheel (of Fortune) watcher, enjoyed playing cards and was a big Blue Jays fan. 

Loving mother to Tammy (Michael) Abramczuk and Mandy (Bradley) Klock and beloved Nana to Rachel, Abby, Lucas, and Tanner. Myrna was predeceased by her parents Warren "Peeler" Greene and Emily Trecartin. Lovingly remembered by her siblings Martin Greene, Ellen Taylor, Dale (Lois) Greene, Blaine "Pepper" Greene, Ivy (Pat) Boulanger, and Diane Greene and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Thank you to the nurses and staff at the Lakeridge Health Oshawa Surgical Care Unit and the R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre.

A special thank you to the staff of Durham Mental Health Services who befriended, supported and cared for Myrna for many years.

Myrna is resting at MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME with visitation on Thursday August 31st from 6:00pm-9:00pm and Friday September 1st from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am.

Interment at Mount Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to Durham Mental Health Services (dmhs.ca) in Myrna's memory.
