DeSOUZA, Joseph 'Joey' Francis - It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Joseph DeSouza on October 20, 2017 at the age of 83.
Beloved husband for 56 years to Diana and proud father to Joel (Gabrielle) and Joycelene (late Paul Miller).
Cherished Grandpa to Lauren.
Second father to his personal caregiver Asiya. Joey will be greatly missed by his extended family and dear friends who were so supportive during his lengthy battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), an illness he bore with courage and grace.
Joey was an accomplished scholar and retired Elementary School Principal for the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board. He loved to travel, read, enjoy music and spend time with his family including his fur baby Bubbles.
Remember him fondly, laughing, enjoying a fine beverage and living life to the fullest.
The family extends a special thank-you to Dr. Whitmore, the nurses and staff at the Waterford LTC for their wonderful care and compassion.
A funeral Mass will be held at Saint Matthew Catholic Parish, 1150 Monks Passage, Oakville, on Wednesday, October 25th at 10 a.m.
