HETYEY, Leslie - After an incredibly courageous battle with cancer, Leslie (Laci) Hetyey died peacefully at the age of 79, in Mississauga, on Friday, October 27, 2017.
He leaves his caring wife of 50 years, Mary (Marika) née Moor and devoted son Peter and his wife Stephanie.
Les was the beloved grandfather of Ella and Ava Hetyey, Christopher, Alexandra and Sean Varga and step-father to John Varga. Leslie cared most about his family and friends.
At the age of 18, he bravely left his family in Hungary: sisters Cili Diboky, Anna Udvaros and Maria Burger and brother Endre Hetyey, to build a life here in Canada.
He was a fixture in the Hungarian community and his generosity, love of life and passion were only matched by his incredible bravery.
He will be deeply missed here and in Hungary by many including his sister-in-law Rozsi Hetyey and his extended family: the Moor, Horvat and Borzsei families.
Friends may call at the Turner & Porter 'Neweduk- Erin Mills' Chapel, 1981 Dundas St. W., on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. At the family's request, donations in Leslie's memory may be made to Wawel Villa and Credit Valley Cancer Centre.
