      Ontario Junior Hockey League, Whitby Fury Junior A Hockey Club, in conjunction with Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, invite the community to sign a guestbook of condolence at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby in memory of the players and team personnel who lost their lives in Humboldt, Saskatchewan.

    The book will be available daily from  9 a.m. - 8 p.m. until Monday, April 23rd, at which time the book will be sent to the OJHL offices to be sent to the team in Saskatchewan

HumboldtStrong BannerA book of remembrance and support has been placed in the lobby of the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME for residents of Oshawa, Whitby and Clarington. This will be sent to the community of Humboldt to show our support and solidarity.

Feel free to add to our memorial in front of the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME.

Hockey sticks will be donated to support minor hockey in our community.

As well, OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL and DIGNITY MEMORIAL will make a donation to support Minor Hockey for every stick collected.

Gibbs MaureenGIBBS, Maureen Katherine (nee CONNOLLY)  - It is with deep sadness that we announce the very sudden passing of our cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the St. Joseph's Health Centre in her 88th year.

Predeceased by her beloved husband of 63 years, Edward Sr. Wonderful mother to Gerry (Flo), Cathy (Dale), Dan (Lancy), Chris (Nancy), Patricia (Albert), Joe (Katherine) and Edward (Colleen).

Loving grandmother to 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Lally (Michael) Foxwell. Maureen will be fondly remembered by her many friends at Weston Golf and Country Club, Victoria Harbour and Florida. Mom was very passionate about her family times spent at Georgian Bay and Florida and her vast world travels.

Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road, on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints Catholic Church, 1415 Royal York Road on Tuesday, January 16th at 10 a.m. Interment will take place in the spring at St. Michael's Cemetery in Orillia.
