Boyd RobertBOYD, Robert  - May 4, 1927 – January 6, 2018

We celebrate the life and mourn the passing of "Bob" Boyd at the age of 90.

Born May 4, 1927 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Bob immigrated to Canada in 1948 where he met and married the love of his life, Phyllis, in 1950.

Bob worked as a Tool and Die Maker for Stelco for 30 years and worked for a period of time on the Avro Arrow.

Besides his family, his loves included golf, woodworking, carving, singing and of course his rye (he was Irish after all)! Bob passed away peacefully, surrounded in the last few weeks of his life by his close family and friends.

Bob will be missed by his wife Phyllis, his children Bob (Claudia) of Tampa, Florida, Kim (Wayne Weatherbee) and Karen (Robert Barkley) and his 7 grandchildren whom he adored: Chris (Maggie), Mike (Heather), Mark (Shyla), Ian, Peter (Sam), Stephen and Kate.

Bob will also be dearly missed by his brothers and sisters in Northern Ireland: May, Albert (Beryl), David and Jean (Noel). The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional care Bob received from the kind and devoted staff and volunteers at the Dorothy Ley Hospice.

Cremation has taken place and a private family celebration will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, friends and family are invited to make a donation to the Dorothy Ley Hospice or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
