YOSHIDA, Amy Shizuko (nee Hamasaki)  - Born February 13, 1921, passed away peacefully at Cheltenham Care Community on January 11, 2018.

She is survived by son Kenneth (Carolyn), grandson Stephen Kawaguchi (Jean), great-grandson Nathan, sister, Fumi, sisters-in-law, Miyo and Amy and her many cherished nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by husband, William Mas Yoshida, daughter Joan Kawaguchi, brothers George, Shigeo, Kaz, Mas and Take, brother-in-law Keith Towata, sisters-in-law Sayo, Kay, Tomi and Kanako.

She was a kind and generous soul who will be remembered for her love of talk, laughter and especially food.

The family would like to extend thanks to all of her cherished friends and especially May Takata and Janet Chiarelli, the staff at Cheltenham, North York General and Canterbury Place Retirement Home.

There will be a visitation at Highland Funeral Home, 3280 Sheppard Ave., on Saturday, January 20th from 12-2 p.m. There will be an interment to follow for friends and family.

In lieu of koden, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice in memory of Amy.
