LONG, Donald William James - 1926 - 2018 Passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 13, 2018.
Don was predeceased by his beloved wife Marjorie (nee Page).
Son of the late Herbert and Elva Long. Dearly loved father of Cathy and her husband John Puljiz and Brad and his wife Sandy.
Loving grandfather of Chris and his wife Giuliana, Nicole and her husband Marinos, Johnny and his wife Ivana and Sarah. Great-grandfather of Savella, Cole, Luka and Michael.
Brother to the late Marilyn Fleming and her husband Ron and brother-in-law to Marlene Kent.
Don was a 60 year member of the Sunnylea Lodge and a member of the Scottish Rite, as were his grandfather Robert Long, his father Herbert and his uncles. Don also proudly played football for Vaughan Road with his boyhood friend of 87 years Marshall Gold.
He and Marjorie loved their cottage on Eagle Lake in Haliburton and travelling to Florida with Marlene and Tom in the winter.
A memorial visitation to commemorate Donald's life will be held at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre - 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, ON (east gate entrance), on Thursday, January 25th at 10 a.m. until the memorial service at 11 a.m. Interment and gathering to follow. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice .
