THORNTON, Eleanor Verna "Elly" (nee Racicot) - From complications associated with pneumonia, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the age of 79.
Will be sadly missed by her husband of 58 years, Howard; and her children and their spouses, John (Ann), Sandy (John) and Kelly (Rick).
Very much adored by her grandchildren Kaitlyn (Ian), Davis, Curtis, Tate, Claire, Thomas and Sara. Deeply loved and affectionately referred to as "GG" by her great-grandchildren Logan and Nolan.
She is survived by her siblings Walter (Justyne), Audrey (Dave) and Gerald (Edna).
Predeceased by brothers Jim (Elayne), Douglas (Ivy) and sister Irene (Phil). Happiest when surrounded by family and friends, she loved to play the piano and organ and was an avid quilter and knitter.
Friends and family will be received at the Scott Funeral Home at 289 Main Street North in Brampton on Tuesday, January 23rd from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00- 8:00 p.m. for visitation, followed by a service on Wednesday, January 24th at 12:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in her honour .
