BAYLEY, Vernon  - Peacefully in the arms of his loving wife of 67 years, Kathleen, surrounded by family on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the Hospice Campbell House in Collingwood.

Vernon was born on June 28, 1921 in Wednesbury, England.

He proudly served in the British Army in World War II.

In 1957, Vernon, Kathleen and their children moved to Canada, where Vernon started a very fulfilling career with Ellis Don as Chief Estimator and Senior Vice President.

Vernon is lovingly remembered by his wife Kathleen, and as a father to Maire (Michael), Sean (John), Kieron (Diana), John (Mary), and Mike (Lisa). "Grandad" and "Gigi" will be greatly missed by all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Vernon was welcomed in heaven with open arms by his parents Rosehannah and Vernon, brother Ted and son Terence. The family would like to thank Dr. C. Martin, Dr. M. Smullen, Nurse Sarah Massie, and Campbell House Hospice.

The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, Bolton, Wednesday, January 24 from 2-4 and 6-8 o'clock. Prior to the visitation, all are welcome to join the family in saying the rosary at 1:30 p.m.  Parish prayers at 7:30 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be held in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 16066 The Gore Road, Caledon on Thursday, January 25 at 12:30 p.m. Interment St. John's Cemetery, Caledon. A celebration of Vernon's life will take place at the funeral home following the burial.

In lieu of flowers, Vernon requested his legacy be continued through donations to either The Campbell House Hospice (Collingwood), The Madonna House (Toronto) or the Sisters of the Precious Blood (London).
