Beck Dr PeterBECK, Dr. Peter Matthew Beck, DDS - 1925 - 2018

Peter passed away peacefully on March 12, 2018 at Greenview Lodge in Don Mills, Ontario, comforted by his family.

He had a full, happy life of family, friends and a forty year career in dentistry.

Loving husband of 65 years to Brenda (Yates), devoted father to Randy (Chrisanna), Ron (Noreen) and Graham (Donna) and wonderful grandfather to Jennifer (Bryan), Alison (Hamish), Claire and Caroline.

Great-grandfather of Cameron, James, Liam and Megan.

Peter is survived by sister Jean Ham and sisters-in-law Verna Ainsworth and Barbara Yates and many nieces and nephews.

Peter was predeceased by his parents Anne and Matthew Beck, sisters Margaret Bonasco, Marion Bates and granddaughter Megan Anne. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Peter attended St. Michael's College School in Toronto and University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry '49.

Married to Brenda in 1952, they shared a cherished love for each other from their early courtship to holding hands at Peter's passing.

Peter travelled extensively, lecturing in Canada, the U.S., Japan and Australia, travelling with the Toronto Board of Trade to Europe and South America and with Brenda and the family to China, Europe and winters in the Caribbean and Florida. Peter loved to fly and enjoyed his twin engine Beachcraft.

Peter had a very successful dental practice at the corner of Yonge and Eglinton in Toronto. He was a patent-holding pioneer in implant dentistry and electro-surgery, a founding member of the American Academy of Electro-surgery and a longtime member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.

He also served for 30 years on the editorial board of Oral Health Magazine and served on the staff of University of Toronto's Faculty of Dentistry.

However, his greatest pride was his wife and three boys and he cherished his time surrounded by family. Peter will be missed by his devoted family and friends and will forever be in our hearts.

A private family funeral was held in West Hill. The Beck family would like to thank Greenview Lodge for their loving support and comfort over the past 18 months. Peter supported many charities in his lifetime.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
