Payne Sister AloysiaPAYNE, Sister Aloysia (Christina), CSJ, - Died peacefully at St. Joseph's Residence, 2 O'Connor Drive, Toronto, Ontario, on Monday, April 9, 2018, in the 83rd year of her religious life.

She was the second of eight children born to John Payne and Bridget Stanley from Dublin, Ireland.

She was predeceased by her parents and sisters Helen McMahon, Teresa Marcello, Patricia Hammond, Sister Mary Lawrence Payne, CSJ, Sister Brigid Ann Payne, CSJ, and her brother John Payne.

She is survived by sister Josephine Payne.

She will be sadly missed by her cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as by her friends and sisters in community. Sister Aloysia entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto, July 2, 1935. She was a joy-filled person with a ready smile and dedicated her life to living the charism of love by reaching out to others in various missions.

Sister Aloysia was trained in dietary services and as a supervisor in the health care institutions of the congregation, she lived the Gospel call: "Feed my lambs... feed my sheep" (John 21).

After participating in the Credo Sabbatical Program in Spokane, Washington, in the mid-eighties, Sister Aloysia moved to St. Joseph's Morrow Park, where she became Sacristan in the Infirmary Chapel and also accompanied sisters to medical appointments.

Having lived a long and full life, Sister Aloysia was called to eternal rest.

Visitation at Sisters of St. Joseph Residence, 2 O'Connor Drive, Toronto, ON, on Thursday, April 12, 2018, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. with a Prayer Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, April 13, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel, 2 O'Connor Drive, Toronto, ON.
