SVERKAS, Thomas - March 1, 1932 - April 9, 2018
Peacefully passed away after a lengthy illness.
Beloved father of Brett (Beatrice), Faye (Tony) van der Vooren, Sophie Dennis and Joanne (Paul) Nicol.
Devoted Dedo of Justine, Jessica, Alexander, Alaric, Andrei and Elena and great-grandfather of Evan. Predeceased by his loving wife Leona. Always loved by Dorothy Potporski. Tom came to Canada in the early 1950s from Florina, Greece and built a successful life for himself and his family.
He will be remembered for his love of his grandchildren and travelling the world. Special thanks to the Palliative Care Team at Mackenzie Health for their care and compassion.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge St. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel.
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
