LAVERY, Leslie Joyce - Following a long and courageous battle with cancer, Leslie passed away peacefully on Friday, April 13, 2018 at Margaret Behan Hospice in Newmarket, Ontario.
Leslie Joyce Lavery was born on November 21, 1946 in Winnipeg, Manitoba; daughter of Joan Meadwell and Lloyd LaveryKind, loving and generous in heart and spirit.
Leslie will be greatly missed by her family, friends and everyone else whose lives she touched.
Leslie had a proud career as a teacher in both the Windsor and York Regions, and in retirement became an accomplished artist in watercolour and photography with the East Gwillimbury Group of Artists.
Survived by her much loved brother Richard (Debbie), nephew Shaun, nieces Robin (Zach), Ashley (Joel), and great nieces and nephew Lauren, Lacey, Olive and Liam. Uncle Don, Aunt Joyce, Cousins Grant, Scott and her dear Westie Jayden.
Grateful thanks to Dr. Zibdawi at Southlake Hospital Cancer Centre, to Dr. Baguio and the team at Margaret Behan Hospice, and all the caring people who helped her through her final journey.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Westie Rescue, "Westies in Need".
A Celebration of Life will be held at Sharon Hope United Church at a later date.
