SMITH, Ernie (Ernest) - Peacefully on Monday, May 7, 2018 in his 89th year.
An amazing father to Carol (David), Harry (deceased), Nancy and Kathy (Frank).
He loved being a dad but liked being a grandparent just a bit more - always talking about his grandchildren - McKayla, Amanda, Sean, Thomas, Michael and Patrick - he loved you so much and brought so much joy to him.
The thrill of being a great-grandpa was the highlight of his later years - Audrianna always had dad smiling and laughing. Ernie was the baby of his family - June, Harry, Doug (all deceased) and Harris.
Ernie welcomed sons and daughters-in-law with open arms and was a loyal friend. He is finally back with his cherished and adored wife Rita and his son Harry.
Rest in peace Daddy - your work here is done. We love you and will miss you every day.
Friends will be received at Lynett Funeral Home, 3299 Dundas Street West, Toronto, on Friday, May 18th from 1:30-4:00 p.m. Private burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or Alzheimer Society of Canada are appreciated.
