Lapp JoanLAPP, Joan Marie Scarlett   - 1935 - 2018 Passed away peacefully at 82 years at Toronto General Hospital on May 11, 2018 after a short battle with cancer.

Joan will be missed by her adoring children Sheila Scarlett Botting (Keith), John Arthur Husband and grandchildren Jessica, Megan (Jag), Michael, Jamieson and Hunter, along with her friend Bruce Morrison.

Joan was born September 8, 1935 in Hamilton, Ontario, daughter of Arthur Scarlett and Elsie Lammy, whose family settled Scarlett Road in Toronto.

She was predeceased by brothers William and Robert Scarlett and her late husband, Dr. Fred Lapp. Joan attended Hillfield Strathallan College in Hamilton and remained lifelong friends with many of her classmates.

Following business college in Toronto, she married in 1958 (Clinton Husband), had Sheila and John and her life's mission was to ensure their continued success.

Family and friends were Joanie's passion and delight. After being in Muskoka at her father's Lake Joseph cottage for decades, Joanie achieved her dream and built her own cottage at Scarlett Point in 1984.

Upon retirement, she moved north permanently and eventually worked at the Glen Orchard store until age 82.

Her family extends a sincere thank you to the professionals at Princess Margaret and Toronto General Hospital who provided outstanding care during her recent battle with cancer.

A service will be held at the Trinity - St. Alban's Anglican Church at 1024 Bala Falls Road, Muskoka on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 11 a.m. with a reception at the Sherwood Inn to follow.

Donations in Joanie's memory may be made to either Trinity Church, or Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
