Wight NickieWIGHT, Nickie Ann (nee Hoare)  -  (May 21, 1946 – April 22, 2018)  -  With great sadness, Nickie’s family announces that she passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Mount Sinai Hospital in her 72nd year.

She was predeceased by her parents Lyndhurst and Nellie Hoare (Cantab College, Toronto).

Nickie is lovingly remembered by her husband of 49 years, Tony Wight and her children Scotty (Teresa) and Andy (Emilie).

She lived all her life in Toronto but loved her visits to Muskoka, Cape Cod, the Outer Banks (North Carolina), and Ocean City (Maryland). She attended St. Mildred’s College (Toronto), Briarcliff College (New York), and Glendon College, York University (Toronto) where Nickie and Tony met. Her family and friends meant the world to her. She cherished her sons, and later their wives, immensely. Nickie loved animals, both wild and domestic, especially 'Jarvis' and 'Jasper'.

The family wishes to extend their special thanks to Nickie’s medical team at Mount Sinai for their enduring care.

A private family interment has taken place in Cambridge and the Memorial Service (Commemoration of Life) for Nickie is now scheduled for Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Grace Church on-the-Hill (300 Lonsdale Road, Toronto). Arrangements out of Cambridge.

As expressions of sympathy, donations in Nickie’s memory to the Toronto Wildlife Centre (www.torontowildlifecentre.com/donate/donate-in-honour) or the Lymphedema Association of Ontario (www.lymphontario.ca/Donations) would be appreciated.
