Webber RoystonWEBBER, F.J. Royston (Roy)  - October 25, 1920 - May 13, 2018

Roy was born and raised in Skewen, Neath, Wales where he excelled at rugby football.

He obtained his degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Wales.

During WWII he served as a sapper and instructor in 260 Field Corps of the Royal Engineers, 43rd (Wessex) Division from 1943 to 1946.

Upon returning to civilian life, he married Linda Jenkins in Cardiff, Wales, in 1947.

Roy immigrated to Canada with his family in 1952, becoming a Canadian citizen in 1967. As a P. Eng. (PEO), Roy worked in Montreal, Toronto and the United States with firms including the Foundation Company of Canada, Casey-Hewson Construction and Stone & Webster Canada Ltd. After retiring in 1986, Roy and Linda moved from Lorne Park, where they had lived since 1957, to Warkworth, Ontario. Here, they built their new home in the woods and enjoyed gardening, reading and entertaining friends. Summers were mostly spent at their other home in Eastham, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where they loved being near the ocean.

Roy and Linda were very happily married and Roy was devastated when Linda died of brain cancer in 1996. His daughter Jocelyn convinced him to move back to Mississauga in 1998.

Being a Christian was very important to Roy and he regularly attended services at St. John's Anglican Church and, more recently, St. Peter's Anglican Church, Mississauga. Although Roy struggled with Alzheimer's disease for at least 13 years, he maintained a positive outlook toward life with humility and a great sense of humour.

For the past 6 years, Roy lived at Extendicare Mississauga. We are very grateful to Felicia, as well as Extendicare staff, especially Cristol, Serene and Imelda. Roy is survived by his dear cousin Doreen Jones of Ilminster, England, his loving daughter Jocelyn Webber (husband Jeff Kaiser) of Mississauga and grandchildren Dave, Matt and Sarah. Roy is also survived by grandchildren Jill Truscott, Emily Vidricaire (Drew), Hilary Webber and Melanie Webber and great-grandchildren Jack, Ruby and Victoria of Calgary, Alberta.

Unfortunately his much loved and loving son Tim (of Calgary) passed suddenly on May 8, 2018 (obituary at www.choicememorial.com).

A memorial service for Roy will be held at St. Peter's Anglican Erindale, 3041 Mississauga Road at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. Shiva will be observed at Jocelyn and Jeff's home, 2535 Winthrop Crescent, Mississauga on May 26, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. and May 27, 2018, 1:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
