LABBETT, June Kennedy  - Ten days shy of her 98th birthday, our Mom died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, May 25, 2018 in Unionville, Ontario.

Mom often said she wanted her obituary to read "she was born, she loved, she died" (and boy did she love!).

Unionville was Mom's birthplace and her final address directly overlooked one of her childhood homes.

Mom always thought of others before herself and was the epitome of kindness, grace and inclusiveness. She was a wonderful wife to Cliff (2012) and a loving, supportive and outstanding mother of 4 (we certainly put her through the wringer, but she clearly came out on top), grandmother ("Dudee") of 12 and a great-grandmother of 6, with another on the way.

Mom often said that when it is a celebration of life, wear pink! Please help us to honour Mom's wishes and wear something pink (or at least a bright colour).

Visitation will be at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home at 166 Main Street North in Markham on Monday, May 28th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral will be at Central United Church at 131 Main Street, Unionville on Tuesday, May 29th at 2:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. A reception will follow at Central United Church. Please note that Main Street Markham and Main Street Unionville are in two different towns.

If you would like to send a donation in Mom's memory, please consider: Central United Church Unionville: Donation envelopes will be available; Oconto Campership Fund (OCF): https://bit.ly/2ILrqsJ; or Markham Stouffville Hospital: https://bit.ly/2J9Lc0l -

Donations to the hospital will be directed towards the Labour and Delivery Department because that is where Mom volunteered for many years.

Let us not mourn the loss of the flame but rather celebrate how brightly it burned.
