Deshaye Brother JamesDESHAYE, S.J. Jesuit Brother, James W.  - 1943-2018  Brother James (Jim) Deshaye, of the Society of Jesus (The Jesuits) died on July 13, 2018 in Scarborough General Hospital.

He was born in Melville, SK, son of Patrick Deshaye and Florence Ottem.

He was in religious life for 55 years and was 75 years old.

Jim joined the Jesuits in 1963 and took a number of educational and training courses.

He served the work among the Aboriginal peoples in Northern Ontario, in Longlac, Thunder Bay and later at Gull Bay, Armstrong and Anderson Lake and Cape Croker.

At other periods of his life he supported the work of the Jesuits in Guelph, Toronto and in Pickering, ON. He was a gentle man of a prayerful temperament. He was appreciated by all.

Missed by his family and his Jesuit companions, particularly the Jesuit Brothers. Wake: Manresa Chapel, Tuesday, July 17th, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., 2325 Liverpool Rd., Pickering. Funeral: Manresa Chapel, Wednesday, July 18th, 10:30 a.m. followed by burial at Guelph Jesuit Cemetery (2:30 p.m.).

In memory of Brother Jim, donations may be made to Jesuit Development Office, 43 Queen's Park Crescent East, Toronto, ON.
