Passed away peacefully on May 25, 2015, at the age of 67.

Survived by his beloved spouse Dina, he leaves behind his loving children Penny and John Stamoulos and many loving family members and friends.

Dimitrios courageously endured hemodialysis for almost 6 years and in his final months he courageously battled cancer. He will be remembered in the hearts of all his family and friends for his incredible strength, perseverance, laughter and beautiful, loving heart.

Visitation will be held at Cardinal Funeral Home, 92 Annette Street, on Wednesday, May 27th from 4 to 9 p.m. Prayers at 7:30 p.m.

Orthodox rite of funeral to be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 28th at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 54 Clinton Street.

After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Thaddeus (Ted) Syposz passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015 at the age of 79 at Mount Sinai Hospital.

Beloved husband of Gloria (nee Melito) of 50 years, preceded by his parents, Joseph and Stefania.

He will be greatly missed by his children, Lisa Ann (Richard), Joey (Cindy) and Tara (Michael), his grandchildren, Lauren, Matthew, Conrad, Vincent and Addison. He was a wonderful brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia as a Foreign Exchange Trader, Ontario March of Dimes as the Assistant Executive Director and as the Administrator at Wawel Villa Seniors Residences.

Many heartfelt thanks to Dr. Alexandre Zlotta and his medical team, Dr. Mohammad Hajiha, Brenda O'Connor (RN) and all the nursing staff on the 14th floor and Intensive Care Unit.

Family and friends will be received at Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West, Toronto, on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 6-9 p.m. and on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. with Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral service to be held in the Chapel on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. followed by interment.

Born in Trnje, Slovenia and died suddenly in Parry Sound.

Predeceased by husband Carlo, survived by brothers Marjan, Tone and Franc, lifetime friend and daughter Cveti (Bill), grandchildren Vanessa (Milos), Amanda (Fabio) and Daniel, great-grandchildren Isabella and Gabriel, Matthew and Ryan. Slavka impacted the lives of all who were fortunate to have met her.

She spent her final three years among the flowers and trees that she so loved at her Parry Sound country home that she shared with family.

Thank you Dr. Shklar, Dr. Karasic, Katie Hogue and the paramedics and staff of the West Parry Sound Health Centre.

A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, June 9th at the Turner and Porter Peel Chapel at 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga.

Greetings commence at 6:00 p.m., service at 7:00 p.m., followed by a time of fellowship with wine and sweets.

The family suggests that any gifts in memory of Slavka be made to The West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation.

It is with immense sorrow that the family of George E. Armstrong announces his death on May 24, 2015 at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas.

George was born in Consett, County Durham, England to Jonathan and Nellie Armstrong.

He is survived by Suzanne Granda- Armstrong, his wife of more than forty years, his children Karen (Tim Brown) and Craig as well as his grandchildren Jamie, Adam and Stacey Brown.

Also mourning are his mother-in-law Louise Granda, brothers-in-law Rodney Granda (Andree Achard) and Paul Granda (Lise-Anne Desjardins) his goddaughter Francoise Granda and nephews Simon and Renaud Granda as well as many friends and relatives.

George was exceedingly well-read. He also had a passion for aviation, cars and history. He had a great sense of humour, an astute intellect and a positive attitude. He had a fantastic life filled with adventures and happy memories and had the joy of sharing it with people who truly loved him.

George joined Bechtel Corporation in 1967 where he remained until 1991 when he left to accept a position with Raytheon Engineers and Constructors which he held for eleven years.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27th in the Grace Chapel of Saint-David's Episcopal Church, 301 East 8th Street, Austin, Texas.

1920 - 2015

It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Jack Busch on May 24, 2015.

Born in London, Ontario, he was raised on a farm with his brothers Lloyd and Tom (predeceased). Married to Marion (predeceased) for sixty-three years, he will be greatly missed by his children Robert (Susan), Elynn and Lynda, grandsons Ian (Vivian) and David, great-grandchildren Elise and Ben, cousin Nancy, brother-in- law Ian (Dorothy), sister-in-law Janet, nieces and nephews, and friends.

Jack had many varied interests and especially enjoyed gardening and going to auctions. He restored antique clocks for many years and in the past few years spent many hours woodcarving with a special focus on birds. Jack was a graduate of the Ontario Agricultural College (University of Guelph) and trained as a Bomber Navigator in WWII.

While working full time and with a young family, he earned an MBA from McMaster University.

Since 1953, together with Marion, Jack took special pride in building and renovating their cottage property on Georgian Bay. It had been a very special place for him.

Visitation will take place Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Ave. W., Toronto, 416-489-8733 (courtesy parking available across the street at the North Toronto Community Centre).

Funeral service will be held in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2015.

Sante enjoyed spending quality time with friends and family. A positive and outgoing nature, he was beloved by all who knew him. As a master carpenter, his craftsmanship and precision will live on forever in the works that continue to be cherished.

Dryden_GwenIn her 90th year, at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital on Pentecost Sunday, May 24th, 2015 after a great and lengthy battle with Multiple Myeloma, God and Gwen decided it was her time.

Born August 5th, 1925 in Toronto to Robert McLeod Grieve and Mildred Greenaway Grieve, Gwen received an Honours BA from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Education from the Ontario College of Education. Gwen’s teaching career included Waterford District High School, followed by Galt, Sarnia Northern & East York Collegiate Institute & Vocational Schools, the Maplehurst Correctional Institute and Milton District High School.

In 2005, in recognition of her countless hours of volunteer fund-raising for university scholarships for women with the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW), Gwen received the first North Halton Athena Award. The Athena Award honours a commitment to leadership excellence within the community.

In 2014, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of CFUW, the Milton and District club established a special scholarship award for a female graduate from the Milton area pursuing post-secondary education. It is named the CFUW 100th Anniversary Gwen Dryden Margaret Gray Award after Gwen and Margaret Gray, both long-time members of the Milton club who had very successful careers teaching in Milton.

Gwen is survived by Doug, her husband and favourite bridge partner for the past 57 years, her children Wendy (Toronto), Kevin & his wife Mary (Stoney Creek) and their sons Christian (Brampton), Tim and David Rozon (Montreal) and by William Greenaway (Boston, MA) her first cousin whom she considered her “little brother” as well as by her many friends of long standing from across the country.

Our family would like to say a special thank you to Gwen’s Haematologist, Dr. Andrea Lee, the most caring quarterback of her medical team in her battle with Multiple Myeloma, the wonderful staff of the Oakville Trafalgar Hospital Outpatient Daycare Department where Mom received her cancer treatments, the amazing team of Personal Support Workers who helped Gwen live life on her own terms at her new home, Birkdale Place, and the gentle hands of all the medical professionals at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital who cared for Gwen during her final days.

Our family looks forward to seeing those of you who will be able to join us in person at one of the following gatherings at the McKersie-Kocher Funeral Home, 114 Main St. E., Milton, Ontario. Visitations on Wednesday, May 27th 2015 from 2 to 4pm or 7 to 9pm. Celebration of life on Thursday, May 28th at 1pm in the funeral home chapel. As Gwen loved colour, please wear something pink, purple or whatever other colour makes your heart sing.

1. Education of Women - the CFUW 100th Anniversary Gwen Dryden Margaret Gray Award.
2. Arthritis Research - Gwen's health challenges began as a result of her Rheumatoid Arthritis. The Arthritis and Autoimmunity Research Centre (AARC) at University Health Network (UHN) is Canada's largest and most comprehensive centre dedicated to research on over 100 chronic and debilitating illnesses associated with arthritis and other autoimmune diseases.
3. Oakville Trafalgar Hospital Foundation - directed to Outpatient Daycare. A gift directed to this department will ensure more resources to equip the new Outpatient Daycare facilities in the new Oakville Hospital which will open in December this year.

January 6, 1934 - May 24, 2015

Daughter of the late C. Edna (Henry) and Richard Joseph Flaherty, sister of Richard (Mary), Catherine, the late Genevieve Wilson and the late James Flaherty. She is also survived by great- nephew Christopher Flaherty and great-niece Lauren Flaherty who brought Josephine immense happiness and pride. Born in Toronto and educated in Riverdale Collegiate and University of Toronto, she devoted her life to nursing practice and education. Josephine was former Principal Nursing Officer of Canada, former Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Western Ontario and a past President of the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario.

Profound appreciation to Dr. Timothy Flaherty for his care and concern and to Dr. Marian McGee and countless members of the nursing and health care professions for their support and assistance.

Deepest gratitude to her family of friends from St. Joseph's Parish for their constant kindness and to the staff of The Salvation Army Grace Manor, Ottawa, for the joy and care generously given.

In care of the Kelly Funeral Home, Somerset Chapel, cremation has taken place.

Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, Ottawa, on Friday, June 5, 2015 at 12 noon with interment in Thornhill, Ontario, at a later date.

Born on August 29, 1919 in Gurk, AustriaIt is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Olga on Sunday, May 24, 2015 in her 96th year at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket, Ontario.

Predeceased by her loving husband, Arthur J. LeBlanc (1982); her parents Aloise and Martine Schilcher and her sisters Ida and Trudy of Austria. Survived by her sister-in-law, Therese LeBlanc of Dorval, Quebec, many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families in Canada, the United States and Austria, in addition to many longtime friends.

Formerly of Toronto, Craigleith and Barrie in Ontario, Olga travelled the world with her husband and enjoyed skiing, hiking, gardening, creating beautiful pieces of stained glass and spending hours weaving wonderful creations on her loom.

Special thanks and appreciation for the wonderful and compassionate care she received from the staff, caregivers and volunteers on the 5th floor at Southlake Residential Care Village in Newmarket, Ontario, where she was a resident since August 2012.

At Olga's request, there was no formal funeral service.

Interment will take place in Thornhill, Ontario, where she will be reunited with her husband, Arthur.

With great sadness our gentle, kindhearted mother passed away early Sunday morning.

Beloved wife of the late John Lukachko, mother of Alan (Barbara), Paul (Michelle), Mary Ann (Chris), Michael (Donna), Edward (Joslyne), Peter John (Barbara), Margaret and her "other" daughter Mary (Andrew), their families, her grandchildren, great- grandchildren and her extended family and friends and all who knew her as the "neighbourhood mom". She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. With intelligence and calmness, she lovingly raised her 7 children.

She was a renaissance woman who was spiritually devoted to her faith, had great curiosity about the world around her, read extensively, collected stamps, had a quirky sense of humour, was a problem solver (solved problems that MacGyver couldn't), was a teacher, an amazing cook and baker, created luscious gardens, designed and sewed beautiful clothes for her family and friends, rewired lamps and tiled bathroom walls.

The only challenge that she couldn't master was riding a bike. With love and thanks to her amazing Revy, caregivers, Luz, Emma, and Redellia and to the staff at the Claremont Retirement Home and General Medicine at Toronto General Hospital.

Friends may call at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Ave. W. (courtesy parking available across the street at the North Toronto Community Centre), on Wednesday, May 27th from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. with prayers and tributes at 7 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Monica's Church, 44 Broadway Ave., Thursday, May 28th at 11 a.m. Following the Mass, a private interment in Thornhill, ON.

Donations in her honour can be made to the Jesuit Development Office, Heart & Stroke Foundation or your favourite charity.
