Valmond was extremly proud of his grandchildren Lisa, Rob, Sherry, Mark, Chantel, Scott, Jonathan, Michelle and Jordan and also very fond of his great-grandchildren Darcey, Brooke, Carson and Twyla (the little girl).

Funeral mass to be held in St. Rose of Lima Church (on Lawrence, east of McCowan) on Monday at 10:30 a.m.

A gentle man with a heart of gold, Bill lost an Olympian fight with Amytrophic Lateral Sclerosis in his 54th year, with no chance of "getting old."

He left us peacefully on February 20, 2014 in the arms of his loving wife of 25 years, Lee.

Bill is reunited in Heaven with parents William and Louise (Ranger) Quinn and sister Patricia.

He will always be a guiding light for sons Will (Ashley), Ryan and Connor, mother-in-law Marilyn (Merv) Magee, brother-in-law Rob (Lori) Proctor and grandson William.

His memory is cherished by siblings Elaine (Rollie) Webb, JoAnne (James) Anderson, Maureen (Pat) Kahnert and Paul (Lori) Quinn, as well as 14 nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Special thanks to Dr. Turnbull and staff at the ALS Clinic at McMaster University, the team at Hamilton Health Sciences and the 911 response team of paramedic and fire department, as well as nurses and doctors at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington.

It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the peaceful but sudden passing of Iwan Rosil on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Toronto in his 91st year.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Mina (Meniw), he was the much loved father of Jurij (Sue) and Myron (Karen) and very precious grandfather ("Dido") to Christopher, Andrew, Nicholas and Isabelle. He is survived by his sister Hania, nephew Yuri and family in Ukraine.

In his early years, Iwan passionately devoted his life in support of the Ukrainian Army (UPA) during World War II in Ukraine. He came to Canada in 1957 and was a longtime employee of Etobicoke Parks and Recreation where he retired in 1989.

He worked hard and played hard but to his very core, he was deeply proud of his heritage and had a profound love for his family. He will be remembered always and sorely missed by all his family and friends in Canada, USA and Ukraine.

A Divine Liturgy will take place at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Holy Protection (30 Leeds St.) on Monday, February 24th at 10 a.m. Interment and reception will follow in Oakville.

Proud grandmother of Shaun Waterman and his wife Meaghan, Kyle Waterman and Rachel Sinclair.

She will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews and her friends at Maplecrest Village in Grimsby.

Thelma was an avid community volunteer while living in Oakville and Nova Scotia. She enjoyed curling, golfing, gardening and bridge. She was also a fabulous cook, but most of all, Thelma was a wonderful, loving and generous wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Memorial Gathering to celebrate Thelma’s life will be held in Grimsby on Sunday, February 23rd.

Joan joins the love of her life, George Melvin Smith.

Joan was born in Toronto on June 16, 1932, the daughter of Florence & Norman Moorfield. Survived by her sons William (Jean) & Michael (Kathleen), grandchildren, cousins and many friends.

Joan was very proud of her 60-year tenure with the Order of the Eastern Star, PM, PDDGM. She sincerely cherished all friendships through Eastern Star, Lindsay Condo Board/Social Club/Neighbours and Haliburton County.

We will miss Joan everyday! Her great sense of humor, her love of nature & gardening, her thoughtfulness & caring, always interested in others and lending help when needed. We love you.

At Joan’s request there will be no service. Cremation has taken place and she will join her parents at the Pine Hills Cemetery.

Suddaby_AnnaAnna Liisa Suddaby, wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother died peacefully at aged 79 on February 20, 2014 at the Brant Centre long term care facility in Burlington, ON.

Anna was born on May 18th 1934 in Port Arthur, Ontario to Finnish immigrants Laurie and Hannah and was the oldest of three children. She married her late husband Edwin in 1952 and began their family.

Anna was best described as a selfless, generous, positive and incredibly supportive person who loved to spend every opportunity with her family at the "lake".

She is survived by her three loving children, Rick (Eve), Nancy (Bill), David (Sandra), her sister, Lena (Jim) and three nieces, Linda (Roger), Cindy (Bruce), Mary (Bill) and her four grand children, Lauren, Lindsay, Jeffery, Christine (John-Michael).

Art was a member of the Burlington Flying Tigers, active in Kiwanis Peterborough and the Salvation Army Food Bank.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Art's Life will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 in Burlington.
