Son of Fabian and Elizbeth of Sturgeon Falls, died peacefully on Friday, the 23rd of January 2015 at Sunnybrook Veteran's Hospital. 

He was predeceased by his wife Helen, his son Peter and his daughter Mary Lee. He is survived by his son Michael and his grandchildren Matthew, Jesse (Maria) and Layla. His kindly spirit was evident in his care for Helen's mother and her relatives, and his friendship with Elva and his many former neighbours. 

Many thanks to the members of his family in Sturgeon Falls, who visited him in the hospital and corresponded with him for special occasions. He was blessed during his five years as a patient at Sunnybrook where the atmosphere of caring and sharing was very evident everyday. 

He enjoyed his friendships with his fellow veterans including Jim and Tex. Lorne and his family enjoyed many activities at Sunnybrook including workshops, trips, entertainment and feeding the birds.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Chapel, 2075 Bayview Ave., Toronto to be presided over  by Rev. Jim Hugh. 

Burial will be held at a later date.

Charter Member Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch 459.

Peacefully, at home with her family by her side, on January 23, 2015. Aldine, in her 91st year.

Beloved wife of the late Stephen Murray.

Loving mom of Sharon (Ron) Landry, Joyce (Wayne) Mercer. Proud grandmother of Jackie (Jonathan) and Matthew (Carol Ann) and great-grandmother to Andrew. Also survived by her sister Doris (Elmer) Farthing and sister-in-law Connie Redshaw. Predeceased by son Peter, sister Bernice Ringwood and brother Murray Redshaw.

Aldine was a founding member of the Ladies Auxiliary and took pride in serving her community. Her commitment, dedication and loyalty will be sorely missed.

Funeral services to be held at St. James Presbyterian Church (6432 Main Street, Stouffville) on Monday, January 26th at 1 p.m. Interment.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the CCAC Palliative Care Team or St. James Presbyterian Church would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Sly_DarrynPassed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Toronto at the age of 49.

Darryn, loving son of Sylvia and the late Darryl Sly of Collingwood. Loving friend and companion of Terri Udell.

Cherished brother of Michelle and her husband Paul Laughlin and Kevin and his wife Leigh Ann Sly. Adored uncle of Patrick Laughlin, Morgan, Ben, Steven and Adam Sly.

Darryn will be sadly missed also by his uncles, aunts and cousins.

Doc’s will to always lend a hand and his infectious smile will be forever cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Beloved husband of Barbara (Rennie) Sproule passed peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2015 after a brief illness.

Donald was born May 10, 1927 to Jessie (Rhynd) and Clarence Sproule in London, ON.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Barbara; daughter Christina Sproule Davis (Allen); sons Duncan Sproule (Amy) and Bruce Sproule (Lisa); grandchildren Benjamin, Orson, Zoey, Abigail and Colin. "Honorary" grandchildren Olivia and Joshua.

Also survived by sister Isobel Sproule, brother Kenneth and sister-in-law Dixie Sproule and nephew Michael (Lisa).

Don took great joy in singing. He was a member of Serenata Singers, Scarborough Village Senior Choir and the Fallingbrook Presbyterian Church Choir for 35 years. He was also very active in church work. Don was elder representative to the Presbytery of Pickering for many years.

Most recently Donald was honoured as Elder Emeritus and Choir Member Emeritus at Fallingbrook Presbyterian Church.

A Funeral Service for Donald will be held at Fallingbrook Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, January 27th at 1:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. Private Cremation.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fallingbrook Memorial Fund.

(1923 - 2015)

Passed suddenly and peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 91 years of age.

Loving wife for 60 years to Bill Stuart (deceased, 2007).

Proud mother of Donald (Mary Elizabeth Morris) and Patricia (Ron Higgs), doting grandmother of Elizabeth Stuart-Morris, Erin Higgs and Meghan (Brian Manahan) and delighted great-grandmother of Ruby.

Eileen was a longtime parishioner of St. Timothy's Anglican Church and an enthusiastic member of the Land Army in WWII. Through her faith, she was known to all as outgoing, giving, strong-willed and full of life.

She will also be missed by her extended family and friends in Canada, the United States and Britain.

Memorial Service will be held in Scarborough, on Thursday, January 29th.

It is with great sadness that David and Mark announce the death of their father Ronald Henry Switzer on Friday, January 23, 2015, at the age of 76.

As was his desire, Ron passed peacefully at home, after a day that included telling jokes and stories, comforted by the love of his family. Ron was a proud and loving father to Mark and David, and to David’s wife Sheila. 

As “Bobo” to David’s girls Beatrix, Georgia, and Violet, he made great efforts to participate in their daily lives as long as he was able. Ron is survived by his sister Pat Harvey, and was an engaging, entertaining, and generous uncle and friend to his many nieces, nephews and cousins in Ontario, British Columbia and Florida. 

His friends and former colleagues from Liberty Mutual Canada recall his humour and competitive nature fondly. Ron was predeceased by his wife of almost fifty years, Barbara Switzer in August of 2013.

He compassionately cared for her during her prolonged illness preceding her death. He will be greatly missed by his friends and fellow golfers in the communities of Ballantrae, Crystal Cove, Sliema, Horseshoe Valley, Toronto and Montreal.

Service in Uxbridge, on Friday January 30 and Saturday January 31. Private cremation will take place. 

In lieu of flowers, donations will be welcome for Kerry's Place Autism Services ( in support of his granddaughter Beatrix or to the Canadian Hemochromatosis Society.

He will be missed by his pets Jake and Pretty Boy.

Robert co-founded Beck Taxi in 1967 and  had worked in the Toronto taxi industry since the 1950s.

Service will be held in Toronto, on Wednesday, January 28th. Interment to follow.
