KINOSHITA, Leslie Helen Kinoshita - Obituary | Print |

KINOSHITA, Leslie Helen -

July 4, 1942 - January 24, 2015

Leslie Helen Kinoshita (McNeil), best friend and life companion passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Saturday, January 24, 2015 with her husband David, son Andrew and daughter Heather with her constantly to the end.

Leslie is survived by sisters Heather DeVeber and Joanne Knowlton, nephew Scott and nieces Hilary, Lindsay and Julia, as well as many cousins and by sisters- in-law Pat, Susan, Jeanne and their families. Kind, generous and accepting of people, she won friends from many walks of life. Leslie was very passionate about flowers and plants of any kind. Nothing gave her more pleasure than spending time puttering in her garden on a warm sunny day.

She was gifted in putting any assortment of flowers and plants together and would somehow end up with an amazing presentation.

It is fitting then, that we honour her life with a memorial gathering at the Toronto Botanical Gardens on Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 1 p.m.

We would like to express our gratitude for the excellent and compassionate palliative care Leslie received from Sunnybrook Odette Centre, Community Care Access Centre, Mt. Sinai Hospital (The Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care) and St. Elizabeth Health Care, making home care for her possible.

If you choose to support any of these organizations with a charitable donation on our behalf, it would be greatly appreciated.

Robert died from complications due to a fall in mid-January.

Prior to this he had struggled with health issues for some years. We are grateful for the care and attention he received at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket.

He is lovingly remembered by his twin brother Martin George Myers, his sister- in-law Elizabeth McRae and his nephew David Graham Myers. Robert was a country boy at heart. His youth was spent exploring the country around the Albion Hills with his brother Martin, and his oldest friend Dan Hayes.

He loved the area so much, as an adult, he moved just a few miles away to Nobleton. He was never happier than when he was in rural Manitoba with his beloved Whaley cousins or at his cottage on the French River with his many friends and fishing buddies. He retired from Air Canada (Malton) after long service with the company. He remained in close contact with many of his former colleagues.

Throughout his life, even when he faced setbacks, he remained both kind and good- natured, full of stories and tall tales. We will miss him terribly.
