Beloved husband of Karen (nee Slattery) for 44 wonderful years.

Loving and dedicated father to Trevor. Cherished brother to Doug (Brenda). Loving uncle to Jeff, John (Laura), Jamie (Alana), Matt (Julia) and Jess. Great-uncle to Mackenzie, Madison, Matteo, Nicolo and Jack. Dear friend to Vic (Gerry), Mike B., Janet and Mike P.

Service will be held in Scarborough, on Sunday, February 15th.

Peacefully on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Sunnybrook Hospital at the age of 90. 

Predeceased by parents John Gordon Sr. and Edith Pearl, brother John Gordon Jr. and Gerald Edgar, nephew Paul and niece Gerilynn. 

Loving aunt of Brian Fray (Christine) of Meaford, Laureen Barrow (David) of Lion's Head, Leanne Kowbuz (Ron) of Toronto and Robin Power of Calgary.  Margaret was actively involved with Scouts Canada and was given the prestigious Silver Acorn Award for  her outstanding service to scouting.  She gave of herself and was involved with many charities. At Margaret's request, there will be no service. 

She asked that she be remembered with laughter as she always enjoyed life and her family.  A giving person who was loved by all who knew her. 

The family wishes to thank the caring doctors and staff at Sunnybrook Hospital. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Salvation Army would be appreciated.

Harris_MargaretPeacefully passed away, with Nancy at her side, at Burloak Long Term Care, Burlington, On Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the age of 89.

Beloved wife of the late William Harris.

Loved mother of the late Jill Greaves. Dear mother-in-law of Ted Greaves (Victoria) of Australia. Dear sister of Melba Self and sister-in-law of Adalene Osland. Predeceased by her brother Lyle Osland.

Fondly remembered by many Nieces and Nephews, her dear friend Nancy Ranney (Keith) and their daughters Jessica, Nicole and Morgan. Margaret enjoyed her time gardening, cooking and singing in the Burlington Seniors Choir.

Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street, (one block north of City Hall), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333 on Friday March 13th from 12 noon until the time of funeral service at 1p.m. Interment, Mississauga.

Suddenly passed away on February 10, 2015.

Beloved wife of the late Joseph and loving mother of Ed (Donna) and the late Sylvia Jaksetic.

A loving grandmother to Nicholas and Stephanie and dear aunt to her nieces and nephews.

She will be missed by her sister Alma (the late Steve Sporina) and predeceased by brother Matteo Rerecich.

Maria was born on the Island of Unije in Europe and immigrated to Canada in 1952.

A funeral service will be held in Scarborough, on Monday, February 16th.  Cremation.

Czesia, beloved wife of Kazimierz. Loved mother of Phil and his wife Mary and Gregory and his wife Bozena. Dear Babcia of Will, Trish, Ania and Adam; and great-grandmother of Tova and Madeline.

Czesia is survived by her brothers Jan and Stefan Sedziak. Sadly missed by her nieces in Poland.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, February 13th at St. Anthony Polish Catholic Church, 40 John Street, Oakville. Interment.

Beloved husband of the late Mary. Loving father of Michele (Peter), Patricia (the late David), Frank (Gillian), Bill (Lisa), Jeanette (Frank) and the late John. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Jessica, Jeffrey, Allison, Lorien, Blake, Samantha, Lauren, Brett, Michael, Nicholas and Sabrina.

He will be fondly remembered by Robert and Maricar.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday February 14th, at ST. MONICA'S CHURCH (44 Broadway Ave., east of Yonge St.) at 1 p.m.  Cremation to follow.

McDOWELL, Gretchen Erica -

Passed away on February 10, 2015 in Toronto, of complications following a stroke.

Born June 12, 1928 in Buffalo to Herman Otto Erich Liebmann and Margaretha Haesslein, Gretchen moved with the family to Canada in 1936.

As a teen, she was a symphony violinist and maintained a lifelong love of classical music. She graduated from University of Toronto in 1950 where she met her future husband Ralph McDowell. She will be fondly remembered by sons Scott and Mark and their spouses Helen and Linda. Her six grandchildren Erica, Brett, Yasmin, Curtis, Sana and Eric will miss hanging out with their irreverent and fun-loving grandma.

Gretchen enjoyed socializing with her friends in Toronto and Muskoka and was a keen traveller, from the Andes to the Sahara, from Leningrad to Java. She was active in charity and the arts, including being a founder of the Dellcrest Children's Centre and a past President of the Empire Club Toronto and the Canadian Opera Women's Committee and was recognized for her lifelong contribution to social causes.  

Memorial service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17th at St. John's Anglican Church in York Mills (19 Don Ridge Drive.

Peacefully on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the Westbury Long Term Care Residence, Rita McMillan (nee Rioux) passed away in her 96th year.

Loving mother of Colleen (Lynwood) Forrest.

Proud grandmother of Michael Forrest. Lovingly remembered by her family, many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents Yves and Elizabeth Rioux, husbands Arthur George Pretty and David McMillan.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the 5th floor staff for their love and support for the past five years.

Peacefully at Credit Valley Hospital after an extraordinarily courageous battle with cancer, with her favourite Aunt Caroline at her side. Daughter of Margaret Munro (partner Lorne Rogers) and Gordon Munro and sister to Gordie Munro.

Sadly missed by many friends and relatives.

Abiding by Tara's request, cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Passed away February 10, 2015 peacefully at home surrounded by family.

Beloved husband of Pamela, dearest father of Joe, Steve and "poppa" to Joe's wife Janet.

Loved brother of Bevan of Calgary and loved uncle of David and his wife Jean of Calgary. Ron was also grandpa to three grandchildren Mitchell, Alexandra and Hannah.

Ron also treasured many special friends, including Fran, the mother of his sons.

His passion for golf never wavered - a game he loved and played well.

In keeping with Ron's wishes, cremation has been held and there will not be a funeral service.

Beloved wife of the late Ernest. Loving mother of Michael and his partner Ken Gingerich. Cherished aunt of multiple generations of nieces and nephews in Canada and overseas. 

Fondly remembered by many friends and acquaintances. Our special thanks to Mount Sinai Hospital, especially the doctors and staff of Team "A" on the 10th Floor South for their care. 

At her request there will be no service. Cremation has taken place.

After a brief illness and surrounded by family, Mary peacefully passed away at Kingston General Hospital, 3 short months after the passing of her beloved husband Vic.

Mary is survived by her five daughters, Linda (John), Leesa (Ken), Laura (Steve), Larraine and Lesli (Richard). Adored by her grandchildren Rebecca (Ben), Amanda (Adam), Tory (Jordan), Matthew, Alex and Rachel. Also survived by son-in-law Steve Cashman.

Predeceased by her sister Irene. Mary was a loving, dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend with a lifelong love of dance. Mary spent 35 years as a volunteer at the Kingston Regional Cancer Centre and was a longstanding member of the Beaver Bible Class.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no memorial service.

Donations in her memory can be made to the Beaver Bible Class, Toronto or the Canadian Cancer Society.
