Beach area of Toronto, Ontario, died on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 6:50 p.m.

She left us peacefully and was surrounded by loving family at her last moments.

She is survived by her brother Kenneth Richards, 6 children Paul Davis (Laura), Carrie Bryce, Dale Davis (Ian Howard), Donald Davis (Stacey), Glenn Davis (Sabina) and Rhonda Davis (Marc Roberts). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband Frank Davis, her sister Kathleen Smith and 3 of her brothers (Frank, Ronnie and Allan Richards). The burial took place on June 11th.

A celebration of her life will be held on June 22nd.

After many years of confinement, her spirit is free. She will be missed.

God called Antonio peacefully on June 8, 2015 at the age of 81.

He is now reunited in Heaven with his loving wife Ida and son Sergio.

He will always be cherished by his loving son Guido (Teresa). Proud grandfather of Anthony and Julian. Antonio will always be remembered by his siblings Rina, Domenic (Lucia) and Mario (Josie) and brother-in-law Tony (Anna) and Giovanna (Vincenzo Siraco). He will be held dear in the hearts of his nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and many friends.

Visitations will take place at the Vescio Funeral Home Woodbridge Chapel (8101 Weston Rd., 905-850-3332), on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church (100 Bainbridge Ave., at Martin Grove Rd). Entombment to follow.

In Peterborough, June 8, 2015, age 90. We are deeply saddened to announce her passing.

She will be greatly missed by her devoted husband of 66 years, Bill, her loving children, daughter Kyle (Lloyd Gray), son Sam (Grace Dittrich) and her beloved grandsons Andrew Duncan-McWilliams and George Gray.  Also survived by her brother Darwen (Marie) and nieces Maureen Hayes and Glenda Fuller.

Daughter of the late George and Katie Lowe of Norwich, Ontario.

Retired Branch Manager with Bank of Montreal (‘88), past president of the York-Scarborough Liberal Association (‘70).   For many years, executive member of the Eels Lake Cottagers Association. In retirement, a student at Trent University. Member of the Peterborough Golf and Country Club, Peterborough Duplicate Bridge Club, Queen of Clubs Bridge Club and The Saturday Night Bridge Club.  An avid gardener and lover of nature, the hummingbirds will notice her absence.

Family will receive friends and relatives at the Peterborough Golf and Country Club, 1030 Armour Rd., Peterborough ON, on June 20th from 11:00am to 2:00pm with eulogies at 11:30am.

Passed away quietly at 8:15 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2015 at Credit Valley Hospital. He was suffering from COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, emphysema and congestive heart failure. George was 84 years old.

Born in Charlottetown, PEI, September 5, 1930, he was the second of three children born to Watson and Verna Ferguson (nee Coiley). George grew up on Park Street and left school early to work with horses at the driving park before coming to Ontario in 1947 to seek better opportunities. He settled in Streetsville and met and married his wife Olive Kathleen Hoye in 1952.

He worked as a glazier, a truck driver, a metalworker and then started several businesses of his own: a delivery-truck service, a restaurant, a chuck-wagon service. He worked for Brewers Retail starting in the early '60s and became president of the Union Local. He was heavily into hockey (playing and coaching) and was a founding father of the Streetsville Derbys and later became their President and then the Convener of the OJHL in Ontario. He was also a proud, longstanding member of the Streetsville Volunteer Fire Department.

After a major heart attack at age 43, he became a fitness nut and avid cyclist. He took long bicycle trips (Montreal to Prince Edward Island, Vancouver to Calgary, circling Lake Ontario, Toronto to Ottawa, etc.) and took up running.

George was predeceased by his loving wife, Olive Kathleen Ferguson on December 19, 2014. Olive and he were together for 62 years. Also by his older brother, Wendell Ferguson and his cousin, Gordon Ferguson. He is survived by his son, Wendell David Ferguson, daughter-in-law, Marilyn Magyarosi, brother Eric, sister-in-law, Joanne and nephew, Robert Ferguson.

He strummed the guitar and loved country music. He enjoyed his family, his friends and a beer and a cigarette, until he quit smoking 12 years ago. He was a true character, and lived life on his own terms. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Thanks to his doctors and the staff at Credit Valley Hospital for their tender care.

There will be no funeral as per his wishes.

Galer_ElizabethSurrounded by loved ones, Beth Galer lost her courageous battle with cancer at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry, on Monday, June 8, 2015 at the age of 64.

Beth was a loving mother to Janine Lethbridge, loved sister of Judith (Mark Woolnough) and Jill Calvert, and dear daughter of the late William and Jeanne Galer.

She will be profoundly missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Beth was a dedicated teacher for many years and liked to make others laugh and feel welcome.

She loved animals, music, enjoyed the outdoors and cottaging on Paint Lake for many years.

A celebration of her life will take place at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the New Animal Shelter for Uxbridge-Scugog.

Special thank you to all the health care professionals and especially the VHA nurses for their compassionate care.

Beth is at peace now and her kindness and the memory of her will always be present in the ones she loved.

If the measure of one’s life is the family you helped to create, the stories you leave behind and the people who called you their friends … then Jack Harris exceeded all expectations.

This wonderful man has gently left us after he could no longer conquer the ailments that afflicted him for so many years.  On June 8, 2015, Jack Harris passed away in his 90th year.

A steadfast, loyal and most loving husband to Norma for almost 68 years, adored and forever cherished father to Jackie (Bob Frame), Debbie (Jon Baswick) and father-in-law to Linda. Sadly predeceased by son Martin (2000).

Inspirational and proud Papa to eight grandchildren and their spouses and forever blessed with six great-grandchildren.

Jack and his brother Art were the owners of Charles Harris & Sons Transport. Also missing his presence and celebrating his life are his brother Art Harris, in-laws Hazel Shaw, and Ron and Jean Campbell as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will miss their Uncle Jack.

Predeceased by parents Charles and Dora Harris, brothers Bram, Herb and Doug, along with sisters Ada Solley, and Doreen Beattie.

He believed in helping others before himself, as demonstrated through the Waterdown Rotary Club, St. Andrews Masonic Lodge and volunteer work with the Canadian Red Cross.

We are forever grateful for the wonderful care from Dr. Bruce Powers, Dr. L Carling-Chambers, neighbours Marilyn & David Pierce, CCAC and most recently Dr. Strang.

Of Harriston passed away at Louise Marshall Hospital, Mount Forest on Monday, June 8, 2015 in his 86th year.

David was the husband of Shirley (Geil) Howes and father of Rosanne Caron and Adir Gupta of Toronto, Paul Howes and Linda Saur, and James Howes, all of Harriston.

Grandfather of David Caron and Janice Chan, Austin Howes and Benjamin Howes.

Brother of Janet Hassan of Guelph and brother-in-law of Betty Howes of Belleville, Lois Geil of Huntsville, and Mildred and George Caldwell of Baton Rouge, LA.

He was predeceased by his sons Philip Howes (1992), and Norman Howes (2009) and wife Ann Tangney-Howes, by his brother John Howes, and by brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Ralph Geil, Cyril Hassan, and Doris and Frank Zurbrigg.

David was a nature lover and outdoor enthusiast. He enjoyed birdwatching, making apple butter, fishing and skiing with his family. His sense of humour and story telling entertained family and friends. David lived life to its fullest and will be greatly missed by his family.

Visitation will be held at Hardy-Lee Funeral Home 44 John St. S., Harriston on Friday, June 12th, 2015, 6:00pm - 8:00pm. A Masonic Lodge Memorial Service will be held Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, June 13th, 2015, 11:00am at the Knox-Calvin Presbyterian Church 135 Elora St. S., Harriston. Loving and respected sister-in-law of Angelina, Maria, Pepino and Santina of Italy. Palma lived with great strength, courage, determination and willpower. She had an abounding love for family and always made herself available to the needs of others.

Palma's greatest joy was her grandchildren and they were her inspiration.

Palma was a dedicated employee and business partner of Pirri's Centennial Fruit Market for over 25 years.

King_JimIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Malcolm King, on June 8th, 2015 at his residence, St. Joseph's at Fleming.

Predeceased by his dear wife Anna, father John Aldus King, brother Jack King, and sister Dorothy (Edmison).

Much loved and admired father to Peter (Nancy), Carol (Andrew) Kennedy and the late Dr. Jim King Jr. (Carol). Devoted grandfather to Laura & Robert King, David (Nishta) Gerrard, Lindsay (Jonathan) McKnight, Virginia and Ryan King. Sweet great-grandfather to Cardin and Eadha Gerrard; Maizie, Emilie and Oliver McKnight; and Julian Dragon King.

Jim grew up in Toronto, graduating as a metallurgical engineer from the University of Toronto. He spent the rest of his wonderful life in Peterborough, where he married Anna and together raised 3 children. Jim's accomplished career included CGE, J.J. Turner Co. and president of DeLaval (now Alfa Laval), retiring in 1980.

Jim was a member of Rotary, chairman of the Ontario Division of the Canadian Manufacturers Association, volunteered at the Canadian Canoe Museum and many other organizations. In his spare time, Jim's greatest passion was designing and building a log cottage and cabin on a lake north of Peterborough, beginning in 1949, an amazing personal accomplishment. He and his family spent every summer and some exciting winter visits, enjoying cottage life and forming an appreciation and love of nature.

Jim also enjoyed flying, golfing and sailing. He was a long time member of the Ketchecum Hunt Club, which was a very special part of his life. Jim was very musical and loved the Big Band era, playing his trombone for whoever would listen - his admiring family, the U of T engineers jazz band, New Year's Eve parties with friends and the Peterborough New Horizons Band.

If you so desire, a donation to the Canadian Canoe Museum, or a charity of your choice, would be a kind gesture in Jim's memory. 

A private family service will be held to celebrate Jim’s impressive 98 years of accomplishments and fond memories. Arrangements entrusted with Comstock funeral home, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough, Ontario.

Jim was a gentleman in every sense and will be dearly missed.
