With great sadness, the family announces the sudden passing of David on Friday, January 2, 2015, at the age of 68.

Predeceased by his father, Lloyd George Robertson, David is survived by his loving mother, Mary Rita Robertson (née MacDonald). 

He is lovingly remembered by his Aunt Dolly and Uncle Dougall, as well as by his many cousins from the Robertson and MacDonald clans. 

After a long career with The City of Toronto, David enjoyed his retirement and the time spent at his cottage on Georgian Bay. 

Service will be held in Toronto, on Saturday, January 24th.

Passed away peacefully on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 75 years old at The Wexford Residence.

Loved husband of Klara Raspor and his children Gavin, Kirsten and Chad.

Also remembered by his first love Shirley and the daughters of his second, Cynthia and Deborah.

He is scheduled to be cremated this week and his family will be hosting a gathering of friends and family at his home at 16 Wolverton Avenue, Toronto, Ontario this Friday, January 9th from 3:00 through 8:00 p.m.

Any donations can be made to his Winston Churchill High School charity - The Fred McFadden Memorial Fund and sent either to the Toronto District School Board or Roger Parent at 69 High Street, Mississauga, Ontario.

After courageously living with Parkinson's disease, Leo Joseph Simmons, 82, peacefully passed away at home on January 2, 2015.

Beloved husband of Pat (née Milloy) for 58 years.

Loving father of Jackie (Piero), Peter, Jeannette (Mark), Leslie (Malcolm) and Patti (Mark).

Proud grandfather of Michael and Matthew, Alexandra and Katie, Jake, Rachel, Sam, Max and Luke. Cherished brother of Teresa, Rita and Tom (Teresa). Loving brother-in-law to Norine (John). Fondly remembered by his extended family, friends and neighbours.

The family would like to extend special gratitude to Anndhy for his compassionate care, kindness and friendship to Leo over the past 7 years.

We are also grateful to the many care providers including Dr. Fung, Dr. Jones (for his many years of home visits) and the CCAC support team Joy, Ethlynn, Arkadi and Amal.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Theresa's Shrine of the Little Flower Church, 2559 Kingston Road, Scarborough, on Thursday, January 8th at 11 a.m. A reception will follow.

Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Jan. 27, 1921. Died on Jan. 2, 2015 in Barrie, Ontario, following a brief illness.

Survived by his loving wife Shirley, and devoted sister in law Bonnie Lillico. Will be sadly missed by his sons, Brian and his wife Debra, and Gerald and his wife Colleen.

He leaves behind his grandchildren Colin Smith (Sara), Heather Aquilina (Dave), Ian Smith (Noelle), and Ryan Smith (Emma), and two great grandchildren Bianca and Isaac Aquilina.

Ernie enjoyed an extensive career as a Professional Engineer in Sarnia and Ottawa, and resided for many years in Oakville, Ontario following his retirement. Throughout his life he was an avid gardener, played tennis and golf, and enjoyed time at the family cottage.

Donations to a charity of your choice would be welcomed by the family.

Cremation has taken place. A family memorial will occur in the future.

Passed away quietly at home, early on January 2, 2015 after a brave fight with cancer.

Loving husband of Betty (Clements), proud father of Beverley (Ken), Barbara and Neil, devoted Grandpa of Chloe and Zachary, brother of Douglas and the late Joan and Margaret. Born in Montreal in 1934, Don cherished his time with family and his model trains and was most at home outdoors -- in the garden, on the golf course, canoeing in Algonquin Park or hiking in Borrego Springs.

Don retired in 1994 from a lifelong career at Alcan.

Per Don's wishes, a private cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Juravinski Cancer Centre are appreciated.

Funeral service to be celebrated at Covenant Reformed Church, 265 Albion Rd. (west of Weston Rd.), on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 11 a.m. Interment at Glenview Memorial Gardens.

Cherished grandfather of Kylie, Devin, and Curtis Andrade.

He will be missed by his sister Betty Lewis of Peterborough and family. 

Service will be held in Port Perry on Saturday, January 10th. Private interment, Prince Albert.

It is with great sadness and relief that we share with you that Susan passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015 after a 5-year battle with cancer.

She died peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her loved ones, with a ray of sunshine on her face. 

Susan is survived by her husband Bernie Tessier, daughter Julia Silvestri Wong (Brian), son Giancarlo Silvestri, granddaughter Lucia Wong, mother Elizabeth Swem, and by her brothers, sisters, and their families, and her longtime friend Florence Blanchard. 

Funeral service will be held in Toronto, on Tuesday January 6th.

We thank you for your love and support as we mourn and rejoice as she is free from pain in the arms of her Saviour.

Adored grandmother to Noriko, Bryan, Daniel, Jason, Jordan and David and cherished great-grandmother of Emiko, Ryo and Victoria. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Service will be held Toronto, on Saturday, January 17, 2015.

Ruth passed away peacefully at the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital in Burlington, ON.

Predeceased by her husband John and son Peter.

Loving Mother to Jennifer (Al) and loving Grandmother to Emily (Paddy), Matthew (Rachel) and Clayton (son of Leah Wright). Ruth was born in Woodbridge, ON and moved to Toronto when she was a teenager. She met her husband John (from Australia) while in Bermuda, as he was travelling the world and they settled in Etobicoke, ON.

She spent her last year in Lakeshore Place Retirement Home in Burlington. She loved her church life at St. Luke's United Church as well as her cottage life at Bruce Beach on Lake Huron.

Ruth will be sadly missed and always remembered by her many friends and family.

Service will be held in Etobicoke, ON, on Wednesday, January 7th.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the near future.

Born October 14, 1931, died January 2, 2015 with her loving husband Gary by her side.

Laverne is survived by her sister Pat (Charlie).

She will be missed by many friends.

Laverne will also be missed by her daughter Cheryl (Noel) and sons Mike, Steve (Tammy, deceased) and Craig (Cindy). Laverne was very proud of her seven grandchildren Mike (Daphne), Amanda (Colin), Matt, Chris, Corey, Zack and Dillon and 2 sweet great-grandchildren Liam and Madeline Marsella.

Cremation has already taken place as per her request. An interment ceremony will be held in the spring.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at Lakeridge Health in Oshawa.
