On Wednesday, March 26, 2014 a Bright Star flickered and disappeared forever, as our mom, nanny, and great-nanny left us to be with her husband John.

She will be missed by her daughters Sandra (Alan), and Anita (Robert). Never to be forgotten by grandchildren Tina (Mike), Craig (Analia), Cameron (Corrie), Jennifer (Ryan), and Patrick. Always loved were her great- grandchildren Chelsey, Brayden, Teryn, Gage, Same, Josh, and Aaliyah.

Predeceased by her siblings Bett, Eadie, Frank, and Tom.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the I.C.U. at Joseph Brant for their kind care and compassion.

Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, March 28th in Burlington. Cremation to follow.

In Mom's memory, donations to The Lancaster Bomber, Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum would be sincerely appreciated by the family.

Mom's life was always her family, and she will always be with us.

Kathy was born at home to Betty & Edge Pegg on their farm in Claremont, north Pickering, joining her older brother Hal.

She attended Mt. Zion one-room school, Greenwood Public School and Pickering High School. Her post-secondary education was completed at the Macdonald Institute at the University of Guelph followed by Teacher’s College in Toronto.

Kathy married Brian Beckett and raised two wonderful children, Alex and Erin in the house they built together in Ajax. Kathy taught JK through Grade 3 for more than 25 years with the Durham Region School Board at Glen Street and Westney Heights Public Schools.

In the autumn of her life she reconnected with former high school friend Ken Lawlor, who became her loving husband last year. They shared a brief but wonderful time of travel, adventure, and love. Kathy is a nature enthusiast, avid photographer, explorer, lover of music, a dedicated teacher, and friend to many incredible people.

Kathy died peacefully with grace and dignity at home with her family. May her joy for life continue to live on within us all.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre Oshawa are greatly appreciated.

Kathy's celebration of life and love will be held at Pickering Village United Church, 300 Church St. N., Ajax, on Saturday, April 5, 2014.

Wife of the late Robert (2010);  She was a very proud mother of twins Ashley (Jane) Rolfe and Gaynor (Brian Taggart).

She was also equally proud to be a grandmother of Ashley and Jane’s twins Megan and Rebecca, and Gaynor and Brian’s children Susan (Dave), Kelly (the late Richard), Jarrod (Christine) and Fawne (Ryan). Daphne was ecstatic to be a great grandmother to Mason, Kaden, and Maisha Taggart, Stone and Gage Breedon, and Wynter Taggart.

Beloved sister of Ivor (Betty) of England, Daphne is predeceased by her siblings John, Peter and Colin.

Daphne volunteered at the Bennett Center and Extendicare and received an award from the Red Cross for 50 years of voluntary service.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at St. George’s Anglican Church, 60 Guelph Street, Georgetown, Ontario, at 2:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions in Daphne’s name may be made to Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills.

You could not know Daphne and not remember her. Her zest for life was indomitable, her sense of humour contagious. Daphne’s spirit was a beacon to all who knew her.

The Smythe family regretfully announces the death on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, of Margaret, eldest child of Patrick (d. 1970) and Elizabeth (d. 2004), sister of Michael, Patricia, Mary, Bernadette, Rosie (Victor Berger), Maureen Elizondo (Fernando Elizondo) and Sean (d. 1962) and aunt to Ryan Smythe, Nando Elizondo and Natalia Elizondo (d. 2013).

Margaret will be sadly missed by family and friends Kay and Joe and good friend Faradon. Margaret was born in London, England, in 1944. Telegrams were sent to both families in Ireland announcing her safe arrival.

In 1946, she and Mommy were reunited with Daddy (Royal Montreal Regiment) in Toronto, which she made her permanent home. Margaret loved being an MSW helping others as much as she could.

She died peacefully and with great courage at the E.W. Bickle Centre. We are very grateful to Dr. Berry, Anita, Ann, Lecia and the nursing staff for the compassion and respect they showed to Margaret.

Telegrams have been sent to her family in heaven announcing her safe departure, with love.

A memorial service will be held in Toronto on Sunday, March 30th.

Beloved wife of Roy Bradshaw.

Loving Mother of Michelle and Sean. She was loved by a large extended family. She will be severely missed. 

Funeral Service to be held at the Praise Cathedral Worship Centre, 6785 Millcreek Dr., Mississauga, on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow.
