Loreen Hamilton (Wilson) passed away at Trillium Hospital on April 22, 2014 at the age of 88 after a lengthy illness.

Loreen had been married to Clare Wilson for 49 years.

He died in 1996.

She married Alan Hamilton in 2002. For both of them it was a second marriage and they tremendously treasured the past 12 years that they were able to spend together.

Loreen has two children (Doug and Beverly) who are living in Western Canada.

Loreen is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Bob, after a brief battle with leukemia and bladder cancer on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at age 75.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of more than 50 years Susan, sons Andrew (Pam) and Greg (Deanna), grandchildren Piper, Laurel, Mara, Sam and Scott.

Bob is also survived by brothers Bill (Claire), Peter (Theresa) and Michael (Joan).

Bob was a 43 year employee of Imperial Oil.

He and Susan loved to play bridge together, go to the cottage and travel with friends.

Memorial Service in Toronto on Monday, April 28th.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada or Bladder Cancer Canada.

It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of William Kay on April 22, 2014 after a long struggle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Born in Kirkcaldy, Scotland, on September 27, 1935, Bill was predeceased by his parents and his only son William Nicholas (Christine) Kay.

 Bill is survived by his wife of 55 years, June Rolland Kay; his sister Dorothy (Ian) Hutchison; and his daughter Susan (Philip) Kay-Dunn; his grandchildren, Margaret, Max and Elizabeth.

Cremation has already taken place and there will be an interment at a later date.

The family welcomes donations in Bill's memory to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.

Much loved aunt of Debbie, Scott, Ryan, Alison, Stephanie, Tammy, the late Craig, Jessica, Aaron, Brittany, and Rebecca.  She will be lovingly remembered by her aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends, especially Barry Cullen and his family.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Albert, Dr. Chang and all the nurses at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville and the Durham Region Cancer Centre for all their care and compassion.

Visitation will be held at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. N., Bowmanville on Sunday, April 27th from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday April 28th at 11 am. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery.

Passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2014 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa after a long but valiant battle with cancer.

Predeceased by her two husbands Ralph Lang (1998) and Carl Forget (2010). Loving and devoted mother of Gary.

Catherine leaves behind brothers Ian, Alec and William, and sisters Betty (Bob) and Helen (Ian) as well as many nieces and nephews. Catherine will be fondly remembered for her positive outlook on life and the “simpler things”.

Catherine’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the caring and compassionate people at Durham Hospice for taking such wonderful care of Catherine the last few years.

of Cambridge, formerly of Toronto, passed away peacefully after a short illness on April 22, 2014.

Yin is predeceased by her devoted father Douglas Eng, and survived by her beloved mother Yin Ching Eng, and her loving siblings Raymond, Pauline, Annie, Helen, May and Judy and 11 nephews and nieces.

Yin was born in Taishan, Gongdong, China on January 22, 1952.

Yin came to Canada as a six-year-old child and met her father for the first time upon her arrival on April 9, 1958, Her father Douglas Eng lived and worked in Toronto for six years prior her arrival to pave the way for Yin and her mother's immigration. He eventually established a family home on Cecil Street, Toronto, where Yin spent her teenager years.

Yin graduated from the University of Guelph in Food Sciences. Yin worked for a number of food companies including Bick's Pickle, and Heinz, before becoming the Senior Program Officer in Consumer Protection Division of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. Yin enjoyed her job and working with her colleagues, so much so, that she never wanted to retire.

Yin enjoyed life to its fullest. When she wasn't working, Yin would be found travelling the world with her family and friends, shopping and cooking the latest recipes she found from her travels.

Friends and Family may visit at the JERRETT FUNERAL HOME -  VAUGHAN CHAPEL, 8088 Yonge Street, Thornhill, Ontario (south of Highway 7), on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 6 - 9 pm and Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 10 - 11 am.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Peter Ma will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 11 am. Interment will be held immediately after the service.

Best friend and soul-mate of Larry, loving mother of Sarah (Chris Sherriff), daughter of Jean and the late Harry Wiley, daughter-in-law of Angelo and the late Dorothy Liut, sister of Jim Wiley (Chris), sister-in-law of Ron Liut (Leona), Linda Gervais (Gerry), Dorothy Fera (Sam).

Auntie ‘J’ to Jim Wiley (Tiffanee), the late Joe Liut, Andrea Villeneuve (Roger), Sheila Molloy (Patrick), Jason Guzzo, Amanda Linhares (Joao), Nicole Fera, and Adam Fera (Stacy). Great aunt of 10.

Judy spent her life as a devoted wife and mother. Having spent many years as a nurse and volunteer, her compassion for others and loyalty to them will be felt forever by those who knew her. Judy had a song for everything and we are certain she is singing in paradise.

Memorial visitation in Milton on Monday evening, April 28th. A private family service will be held. Interment in Burlington.

Beloved husband of Joan for 60 years.  Loving father of Peter (Colleen).

Survived by sister Josephine, sister-in-law Irene and late husband Bob Cornall.  Grandfather to Crystal (Pete) and three great granddaughters; Amanda, Brandi, and Carly.  Will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. 

He spent five years with the Navy and was a Korean Veteran.  He was a supervisor with the Dept. of Communications in Hamilton until his retirement.

Cremation has taken place and at Jerry's request there will be no service or visitation.  Arrangements out of Burlington.

Born on March 23, 1916 in Japan to the late Kyujiro and Takeko Goto of Tokyo, Japan.

Tamiko died on April 22, 2014 in Scarborough, ON.

She was a devoted wife to her late husband Yoshio, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage.

After his retirement, they moved from Japan to Ontario and enjoyed travelling across Canada, the United States and Europe. She was a loving and involved mother and attentive grandmother. She enjoyed music, especialiy classical piano.

She was a devoted student and teacher of Japanese calligraphy, She is remembered for her wonderful sense of humour and her humility. She is preceded in death by her husband Yoshio, a daughter Kazuko, a sister Natsuko, a brother Matakazu and a granddaughter Isobela of Richmond Hill, ON.

She is survived by her sons Yoshihisa (Saeko) of Richmond Hill, ON and Yoshicazu (Rebecca) of North Carolina, USA. Also survived by a son-in-law Michio of Kobe, Japan. Six grandchildren: Yutaka and Miki of Japan, Christopher, Michelle, Heather and Melissa of North Carolina, USA.

A Memorial service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, 6 Garamond Ct., Toronto, ON.

We celebrate a husband, a father to five, a grandfather to eight.

He was gentle, fun-loving and an absolute fighter. He is so loved and will be deeply missed by Jeaninne (nee Racicot), his wife of 54-and-a-half years, his children Patrick (Colleen David), Peter (Jacqueline Malcolm), Marc (Karen Geraci), Michelle and Nicole (Tim Franklin) and his grandchildren Conor, Jacob, Joshua, Sophie, Lucas, Jeannene, Dominique and Elena.

The funeral celebration will take place on Monday at 1 p.m at St. Lawrence Martyr (2210 Lawrence Ave. E.).

July 1927 - April 2014

After a full and blessed life, Gerald passed away peacefully on April 22, 2014 at Toronto General Hospital in his 87th year.

Predeceased by his loving wife Beth (Edwards) and four sisters May, Marjory, Fransis and Audrey and two brothers Wilton and Harvey. He is survived by his remaining brother Aubrey in Alberta and many nieces and nephews.

Gerald began his working life farming with his brothers in Alberta and upon meeting Beth in 1955 moved back to Toronto and began his teaching career.

As a Teacher, Gerald valued education and touching the hearts of peers and students alike. He enjoyed outdoor activities as a passionate curler and cross country skier during the winter months and vegetable gardening and golfing during the summer at their cottage on Lake Simcoe.

In his later years he became interested in genealogy tracing his ancestry back six generations to Ireland.

Gerald will be clearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing this fine gentleman.  Gerald has now joined his beloved Beth.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the wonderful caregivers at Toronto General Hospital for all their kindness and care.

On Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the age of 94.

Husband of Gladys (pre-deceased), father of Roderick and Olwen (Grant) Sigsworth.

Lovingly remembered also by his grandchildren, Michael (Mathea) and Bryan (Erin) of Whitby, Ian (Amanda) of Tampa, Florida, Graham (Carey) and Trevor, Richmond, Virginia, and great grandson Cooper (Tampa, Fl.).

Born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England, he came to Oshawa in 1963 and worked as a painter and decorator. During World War II (1939 – 1946) he served as a gunner in the 69th West Riding Field Regiment, Royal Artillery.

Harry will be remembered by dear friends at Trulls Road Free Methodist Church, Courtice.

Special thanks to Rev. Joan Stonehouse, Pastor of Care, Troy with ‘We Care’ Home Health Services, and in his final 3 months, the caring staff of 4th floor at Hillsdale Estates.

A service giving thanks to God and honouring Harry’s life will be held on Saturday, April 26, at Trulls Road Free Methodist Church, visitation at 2.30pm and service at 3pm.

Donations may be made in his memory to Trulls Road Free Methodist Church, for their building fund.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear friend "lille" Bengt in his 79th year.

He peacefully succumbed in hospital on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 to the respiratory illness he had battled for many years.

His smiling face and infectious good nature will be sorely missed. He leaves sister Ruth and brother Svend in Denmark, sister-in-law Astrid in Newcastle, nephew John in Oshawa and many good friends in the Greater Toronto Area and elsewhere.

Switzer_RossPeacefully passed away in Oakville, ON to join his beloved wife Audrey (deceased 2009) on April 22, 2014 at the age of 95.

He had a tremendous love for his family and was the cherished father of Roberta “Birdie” Whyte (Ron), Bernice “Bunny” (deceased 2012) Bradshaw (Don), and Judith Nestibo (Bryan), along with 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Survived by 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

He served in the Canadian Army from 1942-46. He then started his Fire Prevention career and served as the Saskatchewan Fire Commissioner from 1952-58. He organized that provinces’s first Volunteer Fireman Training School.

In 1958 he moved his family to Ottawa, ON and was appointed Dominion Fire Commissioner until his retirement in 1978. He served an active roll at Bethel Pentecostal Church and was President of the Building Committee for land purchase and construction of Asher Place Seniors’ Residence.

In 2009, Ross and Audrey joined their family in Oakville.

A private family service will be held.

Helen was predeceased by her father and mother, Russell and Irene Barbour of Brechin, Ontario, and her sisters, Marie Ryan of Whitby, Ontario, and Doris Keith of Orillia, Ontario.

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2014 at Woodstock General Hospital.

He leaves behind 4 loving daughters; Debra King (David predeceased) of Woodstock, Linda Waltner of Kelowna B.C., Christine Earle (Michael) of Woodstock, and Pauline Taylor (Wayne) of Woodstock.

Also survived by 11 proud grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all.

Jim loved photography, nature and his family, he was an animal lover and had a great sense of humour.

He had a special gift of making everyone feel important. He was loved by all who knew him.

Arrangements entrusted to OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234).

Zaborowski_Stella(August 28, 1920 - April 22, 2014)

Peacefully after a short illness at Milton District Hospital with friends by her side on Tuesday April 22, 2014 at the age of 93.


Beloved wife of the late Frank Zaborowski, she leaves behind family in Poland and Belarus and will be sadly missed by her friends Mary, Barbara, Elizabeth and many other friends.


A funeral service will take place on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. from the KINGDOM HALL OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES, 8205 Boston Church Road, Milton.   Private Interment.
