Sadly missed by his wife Diane, his children Joanne (Bob), Jim and Kathleen (Rob), by his grandchildren Alex, Madison, Ian, Meghan, Kyle and Caitlin.

Predeceased by his brother John James and sister-in-law Audrey Cleary, along with many family and friends. Born March 31, 1931 in Toronto. Had a long and successful career at B.A./Gulf Oil Canada for 36 years.

Long retired, Jim enjoyed time with his 6 grandchildren and cheering on his beloved Toronto Argonauts.

Fondly remembered for his sense of humour, quick mind and loyal commitment to family and friends. Never to be forgotten by those who knew him.

Visitation will be held at the McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Old Kingston Rd., Ajax (905-428-8488) on Wednesday, August 20 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of the Funeral Home on Thursday, August 21 at 11:00 am.

Jim will be laid to rest in Pine Ridge Memorial Gardens, Ajax.

Passed away unexpectedly on August 18, 2014 at Eatonville Care Centre at the age of 79.

Wife of the late W.F. Ron Dunning. 

Loving mother of Peter (Joan), Brenda, Tim (Leslie) and Kim. Grandma of eight and great-grandma of three. 

Survived by sister Barbara Oag (Hank). 

Warm hugs and thanks to the staff at Eatonville Care Centre for their compassionate care and for truly treating us like family. 

Her career as a mentor/teacher to Special Education students was so very suited to her kindness, patience and ability to recognize the strengths in others.

Funeral Service will be held in Toronto on Saturday, August 23rd.

Arrangements out of Niagara Falls. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church. The Rite of Committal will follow.

Helen was a life time member of the Riverdale Presbyterian Church and a retiree of The City of Toronto.

Son of Pamela Hopkins and the late Bruce Hopkins of Victoria, B.C.

He is survived by his loving wife Francine (nee St. Louis) of 24 years and was a dear father to their children Ryan (Chelsea), Corey and Jordan.

He is also survived by brothers Captain (Navy) Brent Hopkins (Karen) of Rome, Italy and Michael of Hamilton and sisters Susan Dobrovits (Ted) and Tracy of British Columbia. He will be dearly missed by his in-laws, nephews and niece and many close friends.

Tom was an avid golfer and enjoyed hockey and fishing with his sons. He was a valued employee at Fine Lines Signs where he worked for over 20 years.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2265 Headon Road, Burlington on Saturday, August 23rd at 11a.m.

Elda Virginia Hunt (nee MacKay), was born on June 9, 1926 in Port Howe, Nova Scotia.

Elda greatly enjoyed travelling to many parts of Canada, U.S.A and Europe in her later years with Wayne and Adele.

Mom peacefully departed on her final trip on August 18, 2014.

We will miss her infectious laughter, her mischievous smiles and hugging "Grammy" at family gatherings.

Mom will be lovingly remembered by sisters, brothers and their families from British Columbia, Ontario, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia; daughter-in-law Adele of Calgary; as well as many grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

My beloved and courageous mom-in-law was predeceased by her parents Maude and John MacKay; brothers Horace and Calvin; her husband Stewart; and sons Laird and Wayne.

Many thanks to the staff at Intercare Southwood Care Centre as well as the staff at Southwood Hospice for their loving care. Mom's last wishes were for a small family memorial in Calgary.

Predeceased by her parents Bertram and Ethel Moll (nee Poole), her beloved husband Patrick, her sister Beatrice (Bea) Ovens and her brother Jack. Survived by her sons and their families: Patrick, his wife Karen, granddaughter Katharine, her husband Nathan Fitzsimmons and great-grandson Jericho; Michael, his wife Nia, granddaughter Belinda; and many nieces and nephews.

She was the last of her generation in our family and her circle of friends from the 1920s to the 1950s and as she said "someone has to be last".

She is now with Dad and they have begun dancing again as they so loved to do in their youth.

Funeral Service will be held in Scarborough on Wednesday, August 20th.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Crown Ridge and Dr. Kaladeen for their care during Mom's stay at Crown Ridge.

Loving aunt of many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the nursing and care staff at Chester Village for their patient and extremely kind attention shown to Pat over the past 8 months.

Pat had a strong devotion to her Catholic faith and was thoughtful and gracious throughout her life. She enjoyed her many volunteer activities including Catechism Programs, the Good Shepherd, Catholic Charities and the parishes in her life. Pat was a wonderful caregiver to many of her grandchildren.

In the early morning hours of August 18, 2014, passed away unexpectedly at Fudger House, age 102.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years, Samuel (September 1, 2003).

Jennie was known for her indomitable spirit and cheerfulness in the face of adversity. She will be forever remembered by her only daughter Evelyn.

Special thanks to Carmelita and the staff of Fudger House for their loving care over the last seven and a half years.

It is with much sadness but hearts filled with love and comfort that she will be with her God, that the family announces the passing of Pearl on Sunday, August 17, 2014.

She was the loving wife of the late Fulton Seunarine, adoring mother to Mary (Dan), Atheling (Kim) and Clarence, doting Agee to Sterling, gentle Nahnee to Clayton and Jasmine, dear sister to Ainsley Sankeralli, cherished daughter to her deceased parents Atheling and Louisa Sankeralli and esteemed cousin, aunt, friend, role model and so, so much more.

Born in Trinidad and Tobago, WI, in 1930, Pearl began her training in music that would be central to her life and also started her lifelong career as a teacher. In December 1962 she came with her two children to Canada to rejoin her husband who was studying in Hamilton at McMaster University and the following year they had their third child.

They set down roots in Westdale and very soon Pearl started teaching with the Hamilton Public School Board and became a pillar in the community and at Westdale United Church.

A going concern all her life, Pearl made sure bellies were well fed with delicious and healthy food and everything was kept clean, all while teaching full time, first as an elementary classroom teacher and then many years of music and finally ESL, earning her Bachelor's in Music from McMaster, running off to Church and Bach-Elgar Choir practices, going to this committee meeting or that organisation, such as the Canadian Caribbean Cultural Association, UNICEF, the Canadian Women's Club, entertaining countless numbers, hosting giant Carol Sings, nominated for Woman of the Year in Hamilton, etc., etc., etc.

A visitation will also be held at WESTDALE UNITED CHURCH, 99 North Oval, Hamilton, on Sunday, August 24th from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 3:30.

A Celebration of Pearl's Life will commence after the Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Church Mission and Service Fund or World Vision.

WHALEY, Gwynneth Muriel Boe (nee Keeling)

Passed away peacefully at age 87 on Monday, August 18, 2014 surrounded by her loving family at home in Toronto.

Muriel was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Raymond Laverne Whaley and by her first husband, Ronald Arthur Boe.

Daughter of the late Anne and Lorne Keeling and sister of the late Doris (Eric) McIlwain and Joan (Don) Copeland. Proud and dedicated mother to Linda (Gary) Steele, Susan (John) Sherwood, Carol Whaley, Bruce (Susie) Whaley, Janice (Peter) Feanny. Loving and caring grandmother to Erin, Lindsay (Shawn Snider) and Jeffery Steele, Ryan (Lindsay), Justin (Robyn) and Breanne Sherwood, Yasmine, Derya and Kamil Whaley-Kalaora, Hannah and Adam Whaley, Molly, Tanner and Noah Feanny.

Muriel was born on April 27, 1927 in Toronto, Ontario. Proud graduate of Allenby Public School and North Toronto Collegiate. She graduated from Victoria College, University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Household Economics (1949). Muriel was a committed member of the Beta Tau Sigma Fraternity XI Chapter, the Hyperion Club of St. James Bond Church Bible Study and two bridge clubs, the Bayview Village Bridge Club and the "Young" Bridge Club.

Muriel was a dynamic volunteer with Meals on Wheels, the Canadian Cancer Society, the Canadian Red Cross and the United Church Women.  She was also a very active member of Forest Grove United Church. Muriel had a passion for knitting, baking, sewing, travelling the world, bridge, curling, family and her faith.

She especially loved to welcome family and friends to share her oasis at the cottage in Muskoka.

Memorial Service will be held at Forest Grove United Church (43 Forest Grove Dr., North York) on Friday, August 22 at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Forest Grove United Church, Family Network for Deaf Children or the Canadian Cancer Society.  Private cremation.

BARENS, Henry -

Barens_Henry(March 6, 1956 - August 17, 2014) - Henry passed away at his home in his 59th year following a brief illness.


He was predeceased by his father Henk in 1967 and his mother Wijke in 2010.

He is survived by his brothers: Fred (wife Rosemarie), Harry (wife Roberta), Syd (wife Nikki), Gary (wife Michelle) and his sister Frances (spouse Scott).  Henry is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

The funeral service will be held in Acton on Wednesday, August 20th.  Cremation has taken place.

Remembrances to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Trillium Hospital, Mississauga at the age of 90.

Wife of the late Donald Duncan Bowie.

Mother of James and his wife Sandra and Patricia Innes (Bernie Shaw). Grandmother of Marnie Usher (Peter), Kyle Bowie, Christine Marion (Larry) and Steven Innes (Tracey). Great- grandmother of Caitlin, Jaimie, Olivia, Cody, Josh, Matthew and Taylor.

Survived by her brother Jack Gardiner and his wife Norma and their family Angela Russell (Andrew) and Moira Gardiner, of Scotland. Predeceased by her son-in-law Jim Innes.

Cremation has taken place.  A private service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
