Gunter will be fondly remembered by nephews Marc (Sam), Christopher (Krista) and their children.

Husband of June for 62 years; father of Brad, Terry and Jeff (Wendy); grandfather of Brian and Christine; uncle of Nancy (Ron); predeceased by brother Harvey and sisters Mabel and Barbara. Remembered by former students from his teaching days in Hamilton, Toronto and Newmarket. Member of the Metro Aircrew Association of Toronto.

The family wishes to express our heartfelt thanks to all staff connected to 5 SE at North York General Hospital.  

Funeral Service will be held in Toronto on Friday, October 24th. Private family interment.

CONANT, The Honourable Roger Gordon, Q.C., B.A., L.L.B., C.D. -

The Honourable Roger G. Conant passed away peacefully at Mount Sinai Hospital on October 20, 2014 surrounded by his partner Linda Sully and his two sons Allan and Armand.

Born on May 26, 1922 in Oshawa, he was the son of Ontario's 12th Premier Gordon D. Conant and Verna Conant (nee Smith). Roger is predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Frances. He is survived by his brother Douglas (Sydney); his daughters-in-law Lou and Jackie; grandchildren Robert (Vicki) and their daughter Katelyn and son Tyler; Thomas, Genevieve and Daniel; his step-children Jay Keith (Kate) and their daughter Carter and son Holden; Scott Keith (Tracy) and their son Owen and daughter Bronwyn; Troy Keith and his daughter Natasha; and Patrick Keith. Roger was a graduate of the University of Toronto and Osgoode Hall Law School.

He served in the Infantry during WWII landing on the beaches of Normandy with the British Army (CANLOAN, South Wales Borderers) and rose to the rank of Major, awarded C.D.

Roger was appointed to the District Court of Ontario in 1977 (now the Superior Court of Ontario). After retiring from the Superior Court, Roger was appointed to the Canada Pension Appeals Board.

Roger was an avid sailor and a proud member of the Royal Canadian Yacht Club for over 70 years. Private interment.

You are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, October 25 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Anglican Church, 101 Winchester Rd. E., Brooklin, Ontario.

As expressions of sympathy, donations would be appreciated to the Temmy Latner Center for Palliative Care.

Passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side on Monday, October 20, 2014, in his 71st year.

Loving husband of 34 years of Betty Ann (nee Howson). Beloved father of Christopher.

He is survived by his brother Allan and his wife Robin and nieces Stephanie and Corey.

He is predeceased by his brother Wayne. Son of the late Frederick and Noni (nee Cuthbert) Davidge. Ellwood was born on March 3, 1943.

He graduated from the University of Toronto and had a lifelong career with the Federal Government helping people gain employment at Canada Manpower.

He was a great lover of music, was appreciated for his razor sharp wit and was admired for his uncanny ability to recollect historical facts and trivia.

Ellwood had a deep interest in understanding all that intrigued him and his mind was never idle.

Service will be held in Newmarket on Monday, October 27th.

After a courageous battle, it is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Michael.

Michael is survived by his loving and devoted wife Dian, without whom he could not have been with us for as long as he was; his children Amy, Steven (Corrina Mascherin) and his pride and joy, granddaughter Mikyleigh. Predeceased by his parents Slavko and Jelena, "Mikey Ol Boy" will be lovingly remembered and missed by his brother and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and many friends whom he treated as family.

Thank you to Dr. McKinnon and the numerous doctors and nurses at Headwaters Health Centre in Orangeville for the care and compassion they provided him over the years.

A very big thank you to Leslie and the Dufferin Region SENs and PSWs: Lisa you will forever be a member of this family.

Service will be held in North York, on Thursday, October 23rd.  Interment to follow.

Christabel and John met in Benghazi, North Africa when she was working as a Nursing Sister and he as a Captain in the British Army.

She will be remembered by her two children John (Marina) and Richard (Lorie), grandchildren John (Jen), Jeffrey (Jenny), Matthew, Scott, and David, and survived by her sister Florence.

Ted was a gentleman in the true sense of the word and we are blessed to have had him in our lives for so long.

Ralph "Papa" McMahon passed away peacefully at home on October 20 at the age of 75.

A patient and loyal husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Ralph's quiet wisdom will be missed by his many family members, colleagues and friends. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Stephen); granddaughters Kaitlyn (Christopher) and Stephanie (Jeff); grandson Mason and his great-grandson Hayden.

A lifelong Montreal Canadiens fan, Ralph enjoyed the little things in life; humming along to a Johnny Cash song, helping friends in need, and a hot cup of coffee.

His family takes peace in knowing that he will be reunited in heaven with his late wife Linda Leigh.

Visitation will be held at GIFFEN-MACK DANFORTH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE (2570 Danforth Avenue) from noon to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m.

After a courageous battle with cancer, Rose peacefully passed away with Patricia and James at her side.

She will be missed by daughters Irene (Bill) and Patricia (David) and her son James. Beloved grandmother to Cal, Luke, Stephanie, Sabine, Michael and Alexandra.

A past president of Harmony Hall, she was a devoted volunteer of veteran fundraising and other numerous fundraising endeavours. If desired, donations in memory of Rose may be made to Providence Healthcare.

CHONG, Gloria -

(January 26, 1949 - October 18, 2014)

Peacefully surrounded by family at her home on Saturday October 18th, 2014 at the age of 65 years.

Beloved wife of Eugene. Loving mother of Sean (Lisa), Dale (Izzah) and Jamie. Cherished mama to Chandela, Brandon, Alyssa, Daleah, Spencer and Ethan.

Dear sister to, Dorette, Nora, Eleanor, Roseta, Winsert, Keith, Patrick, Delroy, and Bernard. 

Gloria will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends and all who knew her.

Family and Friends may call at MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME & CEMETERY (N of Hwy #2) 905 443-3376 for visitation on Friday, October 24th from 2 - 4 p.m. & 6 - 8 p.m.

Funeral service to be held in our chapel on Saturday, October 25th at 2:30 p.m.

Interment Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Died on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Villa Colombo, Vaughan at the grand age of 99. Born in Monteleone, Puglia, Italy on January 13, 1915 and immigrated to Canada in 1951.

Survived by his beloved wife Antonia of 77 years and his sons Domenico (Lina) and Pietro (Rita).

Proud Nonno of 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Villa Colombo for their kind and compassionate care.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 5633 Hwy. 7, on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow.

Flowers gratefully declined.

If desired, memorial donations made to Villa Colombo, Vaughan would be appreciated.
