Funeral Mass will be held at All Saints Catholic Church, 1415 Royal York Rd., Toronto, on Wednesday, March 4th  at 9:30 a.m.  Interment Riverside Cemetery.

Beloved and devoted wife of Eldon for 61 years. Loving mom of Steve (Wanda), Bob (Rose), Karen (Blair McNeil), Laura (John Stratton) and Dale (Michele). Cherished Nana of her many grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

The family would like to give special thanks to her sister Marie for her support over the many years.  The family would like to take this opportunity to offer a special thanks to the CHATS Staff at Parkview Village and the caring staff at Markham Stouffville Hospital.

Service will be held in Stouffville on Tuesday, March 3rd. A private family interment will be held.

(May 16, 1934 - February 28, 2015) - It is with great sadness that we announce Ed's passing, at home surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife Irene (née Tomalski), sons Jim (Lori Waldbrook), Tom (Caroline Walker) and Bob.

Treasured by his grandchildren Ian, Ben, Sierra, Georgia, Rhiannon and Genevieve. His ever-positive outlook and helpful nature will be greatly missed.

Ed had a long career in television broadcast and advertising sales. He joined S.W. Caldwell Ltd. as a TV film editor in 1954 and went on to work with F.H. Hayhurst Co. Ltd. and McCann-Erickson as a television production assistant, and as a TV commercial producer at Ronalds-Reynolds. He retired in 1992 from Western Broadcast Sales.

His love of travel, sports, crossword puzzles and gardening have inspired his children and grandchildren. Many will remember him as an enthusiastic sports fan and dedicated kids' sports coach. We will continue to explore the world, attempt to finish the crosswords and to keep his (and our) gardens up to his fine standards. We will cherish the laughter and memories he has given us forever.

Edith ‘Oma’ will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Tereasa (Ian), Chris (Dee), Ryan, Alanna, Kirsten, Shannon and Cody as well as her great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Lakeview Manor for their care and compassion over the years for making Edith’s stay with them comfortable.

Gorsky_Professor_MorleyAge 86, passed away on February 23, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Shiva will be held on February 24th and 25th, and a memorial service will follow at a later date.

Morley was born on August 14, 1928. A proud Winnipegger, Morley grew up in the north end, forming friendships that would last a lifetime.

He obtained his LLB in 1953 from the University of Manitoba and began his legal career in Ottawa, eventually becoming a partner at Greenberg, Wright & Gorsky 1955-1965.

With his wife (late Blanche Gorsky) and three young children, Morley left his legal practice to pursue his LLM from New York University (1966) and embark on an academic career. He enjoyed his many years in higher education, as Professor of Law at Queen’s University (1966-73) and eventually retired as Professor Emeritus, University of Western Ontario (1973-89.)

His work for the Ontario Law Reform Commission led to pioneering comprehensive reform of Ontario residential landlord and tenant legislation, which endures to the present.

He published widely including Evidence and Procedure in Canadian Labour Arbitration, numerous articles in Canadian and US Law Journals. He was also a labour arbitrator, working until his early 80s. His intense intellectual passions covered many topics, and his sharp sense of humour was often reflected in lectures and written work. Young at heart, Morley remarried in 2008 and spent happy years together with Emily (Naretto) Gorsky, including several memorable trips to Italy and California. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and colleagues.

Morley was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Polly, and his late wife Blanche (Nemerovsky) Gorsky in 2006. He is survived by his three children, Thomas Gorsky (Rose Bloomberg), Diane Gorsky (Manohar Bance), Nadine Gorsky (Jon Mills) and grandchildren Selene, Jared, Keiran, Chloe and Ivy.

He is also survived by his wife Emily (Naretto) Gorsky, and her loving family Sylvana Huneault, Daniel Moretta (Belinda), and grandchildren Robert, Michelle, Katrina, Ethan and Nicholas.

Hall_ChrisTaken from us peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2015 at Toronto Western Hospital, at 31 years old.

Christopher passed away with his family and the love of his life, Janice Madill by his side.

He leaves behind his mother Janet Moynes (Bob), his father Bruce (Janet) and his brother Scott.

Grandson of Olaf and Natalie Tonissoo, George and Ingrid Hall, and Don and Mary Forstner.

He will also be missed by his many cousins, aunts & uncles who have all given great support and comfort during the days prior to his death. Chris also leaves behind many friends and colleagues who all played an important role in his life.

He loved fishing, listening to music, going to concerts and was very proud of the work he did for Honeywell by designing security systems.

We are so proud of his selfless decision to donate his organs, so that others can live.

Service will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church, Pine St., Port Hope on Wednesday, March 4th, at 1 p.m. with visiting one hour prior.

Carole went peacefully to be with her Lord and Saviour on February 27, 2015.

She is survived by her loving husband, for 54 years, Ralph; her wonderful children, Douglas (Julie) and Louise; her treasured grandchildren Emily, Austin, Victoria, Abby and Hunter; and her “McGee siblings” Ian (Dawna), Bob (Dorothy), Heather (John LaShell) and Janet MacDowell.

Carole was born in Toronto and graduated from Mimico High School and Toronto Teachers’ College, Many of her schoolmates remained close friends.
After moving to Scarborough, and her children were older, Carole returned to the work force as Manager of The Gift Gallery at Cullen Country Barns, where she made many lasting friendships

Always generous in volunteering to help others, she organized and taught the first ESL class for adults in Scarborough. She provided teaching and leadership in all churches where she was a member, notably as the current Moderator of First Baptist Church, Barrie.

Carole has been actively involved in Rotary since 1996. In 2006, Carole and Ralph went to India to participate in a Rotary International “National Immunization Day”, when more than 100 million children were immunized against polio. She is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and a member of the Arch Klumph Society.

Many thanks to the management and staff of Matthews House Residential Hospice for their caring attention during her last days.

Kennelly_MargaretWWII Veteran serving in the Women’s Royal Canadian Navy as Leading Wren, Life Member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 112 and Past President.

Peacefully, on February 27, 2015 at Hillsdale Estates at the age of 90.

Margaret was the beloved wife of the late Donald for 31 years. She was the only child of Arthur and Anne Stanlick. She is survived by her cousins, Penny Robinson of London, Bonnie Huczik of Toronto and Wendy McKean of Willowdale. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Eugene Kelly (Alice Clarke) of Enterprise and her nephews and their families.

Margaret received her education in Whitby and in 1943, at the age of 18, joined the Women’s Royal Canadian Naval Service (WRCNS), returning to Whitby in August 1946 on her 22nd birthday.

Following her discharge, Margaret took a comptometer course and was hired by General Motors to work in the cost accounting department, which she did for 32 years. In 1969, Margaret became a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Branch 112 in Whitby.  In 1972, she rejoined the legion and served as Treasurer and then President. She also served at the zone and district levels. Margaret was made a life member of Branch 112 in 1988. She was awarded the Queen’s Jubilee Medal and the Legion’s Meritorious Service Medal for her many years as a director of the Legion’s charitable foundation.

Her family would like to express its sincere gratitude to the staff at Taunton Mills and Hillsdale Estates for the wonderful care and friendship she received over the years.

Margaret will be resting at W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby on Friday, March 6th from 10:30am to 11:30am followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 11:30am.

Cremation with interment at Union Cemetery, Oshawa.

Jim will be missed so much by his wife, Carolynn ( Chapman), his children Denise (Stephen) Bilsland, Luanne (Jeffrey) Turk, Todd; his grandchildren, Kim, Kevin, Hilary and Andrew.

In 1999, Jim retired from Maytag after a 32 year career as a Sales Manager.

During retirement years, Jim was an active member of the Aurora Seniors Association and a longtime member of The Probus Club of Aurora.

Shiva will be held at 319 Richview Avenue. The family welcomes visitors from 1-5 p.m. and 6:30-9 p.m. daily. Services at 8:00 p.m. daily. Shiva will conclude Friday morning.

Service will be held in Toronto, on Monday, March 2nd.

At Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto on Friday February 27, 2015.  Paul Perry of Ardoch in his 80th year.

Son of the late Richard & Helen (Crowe) Perry.

Brother of Ruby Walders, Pickering; Myrtle Robinson, Ardoch; Harold, Ardoch; Joan, Ardoch and the late Neil & Floyd.

Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will take place in Ardoch in the spring.

QUAN, Chick Chun -

Quan_ChickChick passed away peacefully after a brief illness in his 82nd year.

Survived by Nancy, his loving wife of 50 years.

Beloved father of Allan (Erlinda Go), Melanie (Michael Biskaris), Ace and Rob (Mei Ng), beloved grandpa to Alyanna, Justin, Nathan and Matthew.

We would like to thank the staff of nursing station 3A at Scarborough Grace Hospital for their compassionate care.

The family will be holding a celebration of Chick’s life on March 8th, with details to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sick Kids Hospital in Chick’s memory.
