Passed away suddenly at home on January 22, 2014.

Elsie has joined her beloved husband George and they are survived by their children Barbara and Bill, June and Norm, Heather and Dan and George and Mary Ellen as well as their grandchildren Kim, Darryl, Christie, Kris, Jason and Skye along with their loving families, as well as their faithful companion Bonnie.

A Service of Remembrance will be held for family and close friends in Mississauga on January 27th.  A reception will follow at Elsie's house from 5-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Hearing Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.

March 26, 1931 - January 22, 2014

Peacefully and with her children at her side at South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Kincardine, Verna Nelson of Trillium Court, Kincardine succumbed to COPD and passed quietly from this world.

She will be missed by her children Leslie (Bryan Flamig), Sandy (Bill Harper) and Steve (Jeannette Gerard) and granddaughters Hannah and Erica Milley. Many thanks to Dr. Roth and the kind and caring nursing staff at SBGHC and the wonderful caregivers at Trillium Court who enriched the last two years of her life.

Also thanks to the staff and volunteers at the Kincardine Day Away Program who brought her so much happiness. 

Service in Kincardine, ON, on Sunday, January 26th.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Verna's memory to the Kincardine Day Away Program or the Ontario Lung Association.

Loving husband, cherished father and beloved grandfather, Terry passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in his 89th year of life.

He will be dearly missed by Kathleen (Markey), his wife of 62 years; daughters Mary-Jo Cunningham (Tom), Colleen, Kathleen, Kelly (Dave Bristow); sons Mark and Michael (Chantal) and grandchildren Christian, Kyle, Megan, Avery and Vaughn. He is predeceased by daughter Martha.

A gentle man of great faith and devotion to his family and friends, Terry will be remembered for his gentle spirit and kindness towards all who knew him.  

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Clement Church at 409 Markland Dr., Etobicoke on Monday, January 27th at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow.

If desired, donations may be made to The St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Ted will also be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at St. Mark's Anglican Church, 5 First Ave., Orangeville on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 11 a.m. Spring interment.

After a brief illness at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Wednesday, January 22nd, 2014 at 85 years of age.

He was born in Bayard, Saskatchewan on June 18th, 1928 to the late Teresa and Joseph Ottenbrite.

Beloved husband of Olga for 58 years. Loving father of Gary, Steven, Bruce and Leanne. Very proud Grandpa of Troy (predeceased), Kelly, Barron, Marie and Paige. He was one of ten children and is survived by his brothers Joseph, Jamie and Ray and predeceased by brothers George, Peter and Clem and sisters Trudy, Jean and Josie.

Wilf was retired from the Parts Department of General Motors. His joy was visiting his children and travelling the world.

Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Monday, January 27th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. MARY OF THE PEOPLE CHURCH (570 Marion Avenue, Oshawa) on Tuesday, January 28th at 11:00 a.m.

A man of moral integrity and simple values, he devoted his life to working hard for his family. He remains forever in our hearts.

Peacefully, passed away on January 22nd, 2014, at Southlake Regional Health Centre, at the age of 86 with family by his side.

Loving husband for 59 years to Margaret Anne (Torgis) Beloved father of Catherine (Randy) Nealon, John (Andrea) Pierson, Laurie (Mark) Pettes. Fondly remembered by his sister Elinore (Joe) Guest, sister-in-law Doris Pierson and pre-deceased by his brother Gord. Cherished grandfather of Tyler, Michael, Katie, Brittany and David.

Jack was extremely proud of being a World War II veteran and was a keen war historian. He worked for 40 years at General Motors and another 10 years working for his son's company.

When he finally retired, he enjoyed building his cottage, spending time with his grandchildren and flying his remote control airplanes on Bald Lake in the Kawartha's.

Jack was a founding and life time member of the Oshawa Ski Club and spent many fun filled days skiing with his family and friends. He travelled, skied and toured around the world with his best friend Margaret.

Jack will be dearly missed by family, friends, nieces and nephews for his candid sense of humour and his inquisitive mind.

A private memorial service will be held at THOMPSON FUNERAL HOME.

Cherished father of Caitlin, David and stepdaughter Jamie (Blake) Leeder and loved brother of Reg and Lori.  He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, January 29th from 7 - 9pm for visitation at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME (124 King St. E., Oshawa).

In his 76th year, Jack passed away peacefully at home on January 22, 2014, surrounded by his family.

Jack will be sadly missed by his wife Marguerite, four children, Murray (Pat), Michael (Priscilla), Donna, Allan and four grandchildren, Christine (Evan), Harrison, Sara and John. Jack had a wonderful 40 year career in sales in the footwear industry with Greb and Canada West.

As per Jack's wishes, he has been cremated and a celebration of his life with family and friends will take place at a later date.

Peacefully at Victoria Hospital January 22, 2014 in his 86th year, George Stanley Rockett Jr. passed away one year to the day of his beloved spouse Jean's passing, he has joined her. Will be missed by his children Janice Roselle (Tim), Brittney (Myles) and Brendan; Raymond Rockett (Agata), Amanda, Cody and Carly; Denise McCormack (Jason), Brydan and Tryton as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Predeceased by his sister Florence and loving parents George Sr. and Ethel Rockett.

"A dad is someone who wants to keep you from making mistakes but instead lets you find your own way even though his heart may break in silence when you get hurt" that was dad.

Born in Toronto, Ontario in 1928 and lived there until his marriage to Jean in 1954 and moved to London to continue to raise their family. Dad was a dedicated staff member/RNA of the London Psychiatric Hospital for over 30 years.

Thank you to all the staff at Victoria Hospital for their loving care and comfort.

Service of remembrance will take place in London, on Thursday, January 30th at 2 p.m.

(1944 - 2014) - It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Sandra Roff (nee Gold) on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in Toronto, after a year-long battle with cancer.

Sandy is survived by her husband of 47 years, Harvey, brother Allan (Linda), sister Karen (Marc), her children Lisa (Eric), David (Kristin) and Joel (Jocelyn), and grandchildren Sam, Rachel, Sarah, Leah, Aaron and Levi.

Sandy was born in Niagara Falls, Ont., and lived most of her life there until she and Harvey moved to Toronto in 2008 to be near their children and grandchildren. Sandy and Harvey belonged to the First Narayever Congregation.

Sandy was a wonderful wife, sister, mother, grandmother and aunt, avid reader and tennis player, and patron of the arts. Sandy will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral to be held on Thursday, January 23rd in Toronto. Interment to follow. Shiva to follow at 48 Lower Village Gate.

Passed away peacefully on January 21, 2014 at the age of 96 following a long hard battle with Alzheimer's at Leisureworld Brampton Meadows for the past seven years.

Predeceased by her husbands, John Nixon Armstrong (1977) and Leslie Frank McAlister (1958) Mother of Marlene Allen (Keith) Grandmother of Brian Allen (Anne-Marie) Debbie Sutton (Doug) and Wade Allen (predeceased) Great Grandmother of Mike Allen (Stephanie), Ryan Allen and Caitlin Sutton.

Predeceased by her parents Seldon and Violet Walker and brother David Walker (Bernice) Will be fondly remembered by Bruce Walker (Lawanda), Ray Walker (Linda), as well as her sister in law, Laura Armstrong (Edward), predeceased by Ted Armstrong, Tom Armstrong, and Tim Armstrong.

Helen was very active in the Brampton Lawn Bowling club, as well as the Brampton Alley Bowling club, and seniors group playing cards and going on trips. her many nieces, nephews and extended family.

The family wishes to thank all the staff at Leisureworld Brampton Meadows for the wonderful care given to Helen.

Survived by his sister Ruby Smith (Lloyd), many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Ivan was an avid golfer, bowler and baseball player.

He loved woodworking and was employed for many years by the Township of Pickering.

The family will receive friends at the McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Old Kingston Road, Pickering Village, (Ajax), 905 428-8488 on Saturday January 25 from 10-11am.

Valcartier, QC It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Capitaine-abbé Philippe Boudreau which occurred at his residence on Tuesday, January 21, 2014.

He was 49 years of age. Born in Toronto, he was the beloved son of Claude Boudreau and the late Rosa Boudreau (2011) of Bertrand, NB. He will be dearly missed by his brother André and his sister-in-law Zhen in Toronto, ON. He will also be missed by his godmother Claudette Thériault and his godson Jonathan Arpin in Sherbrooke, QC as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by his godfather Léonide Boudreau.

Father Philippe Boudreau had been ordained as a priest in May 2001 with the Oblates of Mary Immaculate at the Notre-Dame- du-Cap sanctuary in Trois- Rivières, QC. He joined the Canadian National Forces as a reserve in April 2004.

From January to April 2007, he was stationed at Valcartier, QC. In June 2007, he joined the regular forces. Soon after, he was stationed at Trenton, ON.

He was first deployed to Afghanistan in June 2010. In July 2011, he was transferred to Valcartier, QC. Between November 2012 and June 2013, he did his second deployment in Afghanistan.

He had been the coordinator of the Ste-Jeanne- d'Arc Chapel since his return.

Family and friends will gather at St. Joachim R.C. in Bertrand, NB on Tuesday, January 28 from 7-9 p.m.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the same location on Wednesday, January 29 at 11 a.m.

Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and loving dog Patsy and cat Tiger.

A celebration of life will be held in Parham on Saturday, February 1st.  

Interment of ashes will take place in Scarborough on Saturday, June 14th.

Sadly, we announce the passing of Blanche Childs (February 4, 1926 - January 21, 2014).

Co-founder of J.W. Childs Ltd. and for over 67 years was a devoted wife and business partner to our father.

She was a loving and caring mother and will be forever missed by her 3 sons, James, John and Gary. As the only girl in her family, she was adored by her 3 late brothers, Reginald, Gordon and Murray. A true matriarch of our family, she was gifted with the ability to juggle 3 boys, home life, cottage and Florida time, as well as overseeing the family business interests. Blanche will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She formed everlasting friendships and touched numerous lives with her hospitality, generosity and kindness. Blanche will be forever in our hearts and memories.

Her family would like to offer their sincere thanks to those who visited Mom and those that cared for her while she was in Leisureworld Nursing Home in Mississauga.

Service Saturday, February 1st at 3 p.m. in Etobicoke.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society.

Passed away peacefully on January 21, 2014 in Vancouver, British Columbia at the age of 91.

She is predeceased by her husband James Hong Chung of Niagara Falls, Ontario.

She is survived by her sons Dr. Brian Chung of Vancouver, Dr. Stephen Chung (Brenda) of Phoenix, Arizona, granddaughters Joanna Chung of New York and Stephanie Chung of Phoenix, brothers Ronald (Pearl) and Andrew Joe of Vancouver and sister Patricia Mah (Charles) of Vancouver. She will be sadly missed by all of her family and her many friends in Vancouver and Toronto.

She began her nursing career in Victoria, British Columbia but soon after moved to Toronto where she lived and worked for many years before retiring at age 75.

She moved to Vancouver a few years later to be closer to family and made many new friends at the O'Keefe Seniors Living Center and finally the Windermere Care Centre.

She was a loving, caring, hardworking woman who sacrificed her whole life for her two sons. She had very few personal needs or desires and her life may be summarized as someone whom everyone liked and who did not want to be a burden or bother to anyone. She lived a simple life surrounded by the people she loved and the people who loved her.

A private gathering was held in Vancouver.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to either Vancouver General Hospital or North York General Hospital.

Born in Toronto on November 19, 1919, died peacefully of heart failure at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre on January 21, 2014.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 67 years Edith (nee Thompson) and his only child, devoted son Brian and daughter-in-law Beth (Tennier) as well as his three cherished grandchildren John, Tom and Martha. He also leaves siblings Dave (Gloria), Steve, Frances, John and the late Phil and Joe, many nieces and nephews and the extended Tennier family.

After a typical 1920s era, adventure-packed childhood in east end Toronto, Art graduated from St. Michael's College (B. Comm), University of Toronto in 1941 and served as a flight instructor in the RCAF at Trenton and Dunville from 1941 to 1945. After the war he became a CA at Clarkson Gordon (now Ernst and Young) and then went onto a career at Laidlaw Lumber, Dineen Construction and Ontario's Ministry of Community and Social Services.

Art was an active volunteer at Etobicoke's Transfiguration of Our Lord Parish, St. Michael's Cathedral and in later years at St. Bonaventure's Parish in Don Mills.

He was known for the support he gave to both young people and women to pursue the full range of their life's ambitions.

Family and friends will be received at St. Bonaventure's Catholic Church, 1300 Leslie St., on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m.
