August 27, 1930 - February 1, 2015

Peacefully at North York General Hospital surrounded by her family. 

Wife of the late George (October 20, 2014); mother of Brad, Terry and Jeff (Wendy); grandmother of Brian and Christine; sister of Bill (Mary); aunt of Paul (Roberta), Chris and Ann.  Former librarian at various schools for the North York Board of Education and the North York Public Library. 

She was an avid reader who loved crosswords, Sudoku puzzles and playing bridge with her friends.  June also loved nature and enjoyed the arts (ballet and the symphony) and her summers at the cottage on Lorimer Lake. 

The family wishes to express our heartfelt thanks to all staff connected with 5 SE and Critical Care (ICU) at North York General Hospital.  

Funeral Service will be held in Toronto, on Friday, February 6th.  Private family interment.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Helen, dear wife of the late George (Nip, 2000) Armstrong.

Loving mother to Doug (deceased 2009), Barb, Debra (John van Teunenbroek), Paul (Helen), Mary (Dennis Riggs). Helen will be remembered by her eight grandchildren and their families.

Service will be held in Richmond Hill, on Wednesday, February 4th.

Fournier_SylviaPassed away on February 1, 2015 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, at the age of 91.

She leaves behind her beloved son Dan and his wife Linda, and her sister and friend, Laura.

Predeceased by her loving husband Jim, and her sister, Mona Quinn.

Sylvia leaves many relative, nieces and nephews, especially Jane and Fred Lloyd, and her Mother-in-Law, who she loved dearly. She will be greatly missed by many friends, Islay Beares and Glenna Legacy, as well as by all of her former coworkers at Canada Post and The Oshawa Times.

The family would also like to extend a warm thank you to all of the staff at the 4F unit of Lakeridge Health Oshawa for all of the care and compassion they gave to Sylvia.

In accordance with Sylvia’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

If desired, memorial donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Arthritis Society would be greatly appreciated by her family.

Died peacefully at the age of 92 on February, 1, 2015, as a result of a sudden heart attack.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Jean, and 2 children, Dr Anne Galipeau (Jeff Rosebrugh) and Dr Lynne Galipeau (Gordon Payne). Predeceased by his son-in-law Brian Blumberg. Survived also by his grandchildren Michelle and Robert Blumberg and Maya Rosebrugh. John was the beloved older brother of Joan Enman (John) and Frank (Nancy).

He is also survived by nieces and nephews Dawn Enman, Prof. Suzanne Sheppard (Don), Dr Robert Sheppard, Prof John Sheppard (Andrea), David Pennington (Susan) and Mary Anne Foreman (David).

Also survived by numerous grand nieces and nephews. John was born in Montreal in 1923, an ambitious and determined student. His family later moved to Ottawa where he attended Glebe Collegiate. Following the death of his father when he was 18, he supported his family and worked to afford university tuition.

He graduated from McGill Electrical Engineering in 1956, where he also managed to find the time to play Varsity Basketball.
After graduation, he moved to Toronto to start work as an engineer on the Avro Arrow. He then formed his own company, Dataline, and was a pioneer in the Canadian computing industry.

A lifelong learner, he loved Mathematics and the study of languages and continued long after his retirement to do advanced mathematical problems for fun! Wanting to help others, he joined the SKULE society at U of T. He was well known for his political rants and his love of dark chocolate, classical music, old films and maple syrup.

Friends are invited to Celebrate John's Life on Saturday April 4th from 12 noon until 3 p.m. at the Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home & Chapel, 467 Sherbourne St., Toronto.

Loved mother of Sergio (Maria), Maria-Emilia (Manuel), Isaltina (Jose), Jose (Lucia), Natalia (Jose), Antero (Paula), and Michael (Michelle). Lovingly remembered by 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.

Survived by sister Isaltina (Azores). Brother Francisco and Jose (California).

Private family visitation. Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 7th at Saint Dominic Catholic Church, 2415 Rebecca St., Oakville. Interment.

1921 - 2015

Marie passed away peacefully on February 1, 2015 in her 94th year with her children by her side.

She was predeceased by her husband George of 55 years in 1996 and her brother Wilbur and her sisters Ivy and Ruby. She is survived by her sisters-in-law Eileen (Graydon Hulse) and Louise Gibbons. She will be dearly missed by her children, the lights of her life, Bill (Dorothy), Stu (Trish) and Kit (Jim) McAleese.

Marie will also be missed by her 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Born in Halifax, NS, Marie met her husband George while he was stationed there during the Second World War.

They married and later moved to Toronto, where Marie was busy for many years with homemaking, the Cubs Auxiliary, Ladies Bowling and caring for her aging father-in-law.

Later, Marie ventured into the working world where she found much joy and delight as a Kindergarten Assistant and Lunchroom Supervisor at Bowmore Road and Earl Haig Public Schools.

Thus, in her memory, contributions to for student nutrition would be most welcome.

Born in Toronto on November 15, 1924 and predeceased by his first wife Lois Evelyn Hill and daughter Patti McCarty (Nick). Loving father to Kim Aikenhead (Tim), Doug Hill (Anne), Don Hill (Jennifer), Mary Graham (Ian) and Jennifer Guest (Brian). Loving step-father to Taulene Kagan (Rich), Mischa Ayoub (Katie), Kendall Nichols (Graham) and Whitney Goulstone (Richard). Don was adored by his 29 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church, 1585 Yonge Street, Toronto on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 2 p.m.

Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 1, 2015 after a brief illness.

Bruce will forever be cherished in the hearts of his family. Devoted husband of 58 years to Joan, loving father to Kim (Eric Anderson), Gary (Laura) and Paige (Glenn Barrett), doting Papa to Katie, Madison, Joelle and Sabrina.

Predeceased by his parents Bertie and Henrietta. Retired after 38 years of service with Moore Business Forms. An accomplished handyman who loved nothing more than a blank canvas to work with, Bruce spent many happy hours fixing and building things around his house.

A longtime resident of a cosy corner in Mississauga, Bruce was active in the neighbourhood homeowners association and met many neighbours who turned into good friends over the years.

Many thanks to all friends near and far who were in touch throughout his illness; your thoughtfulness meant a lot to Bruce and his family.

The family would like to thank Dr. Besik and the nurses on the Palliative Ward at Credit Valley Hospital for their kindness and attention while he was in their care.
