Kidd GrahamKIDD, Graham - Graham Kidd was a lover of music, good food, Scotch and soccer.

His family is devastated that after living 15 years with a brain tumour, Graham peacefully journeyed to another space on May 26th, 2017 at Hospice Wellington.

Graham leaves behind his wife of 20 years Dorothy Vreeswyk-Kidd, his dearly loved children Noah and Sophia, and his dog Emmie.

 

Vogt GordonVOGT, Gordon  -  Of London, at University Hospital, London, on Friday, May 26, 2017 in his 84th  year.

Gordon Andrew Vogt was the husband of Gail (Cunningham) Vogt, brother of Joan McDougall of Cambridge, and brother-in-law of June Cunningham of Harriston.

Predeceased by his sisters Iris Sparks and Carol Vogt, brother Jack Vogt, parents-in-law Esther 'Peggy' and Victor Cunningham, and brother-in-law Gary Cunningham.

 

MUELLER, Dorothy Jean - At age 86, passed away peacefully at People Care Centre, Tavistock on May 25, 2017.

Dorothy was born April 25, 1931 in Mornington Township, daughter of the late George and Florence (Rutherford) Tanner.

Beloved wife for 65 years of Bob Mueller. Loving mother of George Mueller (Marlene) and Joan Serrao (Stephen). Grandmother of Ashley Aarts (Chris), Sarah Gillies (Tyler), Melissa Bierhuizen (Rod), Adam Parco (Natalie). Great grandmother of 7 great grandchildren.

 

WESTBROOK, John David  –  Passed away peacefully at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Thursday, May 25, 2017 in his 79th year.

Beloved husband of Rita (nee Vivoda); loving father of Cheryl (Keith Hopkins) and Tracy (Vance Reay). Cherished grandfather of Tyler (Jennifer), Justin (Robyn), Nolan (Victoria), Ashton (Brandon), and Devin.

John was predeceased by his brother Bill Westbrook. He is survived by his mother-in-law Ludmilla Vivoda and by sister-in-law Sylvia Westbrook.

Simpson GarySIMPSON, James 'Gary' - Passed away peacefully following a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in his 80th year.

Beloved husband of Laurie for 55 years. Loving father of Linda (Jane), Shannon (Dan) and Val (Tony). Proud Grandpa of Taylor, Benjamin and Jacob. Dear brother of Brian.

Gary graduated in 1961 with a degree in Civil Engineering from McGill University. After working for the cities of Scarborough and Brampton, the family moved to Waterloo where Gary worked as the Assistant City Engineer. In 1966, Gary joined E & E Seegmiller Construction as Project Engineer, eventually retiring in 2000.

DOBBS, Frederick Paul  -  Died peacefully with his wife by his side on May 24, 2017 at the age of 64.

Fred grew up in Toronto where he studied law and passed the bar exam in B.C and Ontario. He had a passion for travel, sports, music and movies, and while he was a private person, he had a knack for building strong and lifelong friendships.

Fred will be deeply missed by his wife Karin and his children Hannah and Simon. He is the much loved son of William and the late Betty (Hechter) Dobbs; brother of Michelle Dobbs, Michael and Lisa Dobbs, Gail Dobbs, Jeffrey Dobbs; son-in-law of Göran Törnqvist  (Lena-Maj) and Elisabeth von Sivers (Nils Dahlen);  brother-in-law of  Britta Kihlstedt (Johan), Björn Törnqvist (Nina) and Fredrik Lundberg  (Sandra).

 

Thornton ErleTHORNTON, Erle  -  After almost 90 years, Erle has reached the end of this time we call life and begun a much anticipated new adventure. As he transitions to a life beyond, he rejoins his wife Evelyn (Keena), his wife of 63 years, his parents Clifford and Lillian and all 5 of his siblings, Cliff, Jean, Al, Bob and Roger. 

He is deeply mourned by his daughters Pauline (Dana Kennedy) and Diane (Francis Caza), grandchildren Julian and Charlotte, brothers-in-law Doug Keena (Fran) and Wallace Mildon (Jean), sister-in-law Eileen Thornton (Roger) and a host of nieces and nephews who had a special relationship with Uncle Erle.

Born in Toronto on June 30, 1927, 'Duke' came to Sebringville to pursue a chance encounter with the girl of his dreams and stayed to raise a family. He became an integral part of the community as a businessman (Sebringville Plumbing and Heating), builder, volunteer fireman, and faithful member of Emmanuel United Church.

 

Gibson JoanneGIBSON, Joanne Ruth  -  Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, just six days shy of her 75th birthday. 

Here is a message she left for us: 'I, Joanne Gibson, have left this world for another and say so long, goodbye to my three children: James, Jackie, and Jeffrey (Lisa), and my three grandchildren: Taylor, Ethan, and Kaitlin. My life has been short and not without incidences. I do not regret a moment of my life on this earth, and I cherish the family I have. Love and farewell, 'til we meet again.'

Joanne was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Ken Gibson. She was a smart, strong, and no-nonsense person who loved to travel, camp, read, and work on her jigsaw puzzles. She will be missed.

 

SCHOENHALS, Lloyd George - (April 14, 1923 - May 24, 2017) - Passed away at the beautiful age of 94.

Loving husband of Jackie Farr (Roulston) and the late Myrtle (Billie) Dier (2000). Father of Michael (Norma), Bob (Chris) and Jennifer (Terry) and the late Timothy (2016).

Lloyd is survived by his brother Gord and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents George and Idora (Doerr) and is sister Irene Roulston.

Lloyd graduated with a degree in Pharmacy in 1947 and was a founder of Falls Pharmacy (1955-1989). He was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1942 to 1945 and the Canadian Legion Milverton, Branch 565. He was an active member of the Pharmacists Association of Niagara Falls and later the Pharmacists Association of the Niagara Peninsula.

 

Evans EuniceEVANS, Eunice  -  Our beloved Aunty passed away peacefully in her 95th year on May 24, 2017 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. 

She is survived by her sister Alma and brothers William and Richard, 17 nieces and nephews, 22 grand nieces and nephews and 13 great-grand nieces and nephews. 

Predeceased by siblings Mavis, Edna, Rita, Dudley and Philip.

 

JANTZI, Laura  -  Peacefully at Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, Laura (nee Zehr) in her 94th year. 

Beloved wife of the late Elmer S. Jantzi (1982). 

Loving sister of Mary Gerber (late Amos), Norman Zehr (Amy), Jacob Zehr  (Alma), Elmer Zehr (Ethel) and Esther Jantzi (Ohmer).  She will be sadly missed by all her nieces and nephews. 

Predeceased by her parents Moses Zehr and Fannie (nee Lichty), her brother John Zehr (late Esther and late Mary Ann), and sister Emma Wagler (late Allan).

Born in Stratford, daughter of the late Wilfred and Amy (Hembery) Fountain.

Predeceased by her husband of 63 years, James Richard Johnston (August 29, 2015).

Loving mother of Gwen (Frank) Mark, Jim (Ava) Johnston, Susan (Norwin) Rae and Patti Johnston (Arnold Schellenberger).

 

Rooney EdnaROONEY, Edna Margaret - At age 76, Edna of Stratford passed away peacefully at Seaforth Community Hospital on May 23, 2017.

Edna was born in Prince Edward Island, daughter of the late Vernon and Helena Dennis.

Loving mother of Nadine Sharples (Dave). Grandmother of Jesse and Alexandria.

Sister of Gordon Dennis (Betty), Leona Matthews, Verna Fall. Also survived by sisters-in-law Gail Dennis, Helen Griffin, a brother-in-law Robert Kellington and several nieces and nephews.

 

McQueen MarjorieMcQUEEN, Marjorie Irene (Marj – Queenie)  -  Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 23, 2017. She was an only child, born in Galt, Ontario on August 2nd, 1918 to William and Cornelia (Eitel) McQueen. 

Marj went to Manchester School and GCI. After leaving school, she worked at the Galt Hospital as a ward and aid, and then moved to Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital where she graduated as a nurse in 1940, and then a Registered Nurse in 1941. She remained at KW Hospital until 1983, working several different positions in several different areas of the hospital over the years. Since 1922, Barrett Ave in Cambridge was always home for Marj. She was a member of Knox's Galt Presbyterian Church for over 85 years, and participated in the choir and several church organizations.

KETCHEN, Evelyn Margaret  -  Passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington in Guelph, on May 23rd, 2017 in her 79th year.

Predeceased by her husband Rev. David R. Ketchen in 2016.

Beloved mother of Jonathan Tad, Michael and his wife Nancy, and Stephen. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Micaelyn, Margaret, Sean, Scott, Stephen, Colin, and Leah.

Evelyn is survived by her brothers George, Robert, and Clayton. Predeceased by her brother Bennett and her sister Marie.
