RAGHUNATH, Satesh Kumar  -  Suddenly in Toronto at the age of 44 years.

Satesh was the loving son of Harold and Ruby Raghunath of Kitchener. Dear brother of Devi Watson (Bradley) of Mannheim, ON. Dear uncle of Benjamin Watson, Tara Watson-Covey (Jamie), Erin Watson and Joshua Watson (Raewyn). Great uncle of Justin and Ella and Abigail and Brianna. Fondly remembered by his aunts Pearl Raghubir (Paul) , Debbie Carpen, Claris Dipchand, and uncles Michael Carpen (Devi) and Nehaul Carpen (Leanie), Satesh will also be remembered by the Raghunath Family, his many cousins and best friends Jan Shalla and Charlotte Smaglinski-Shalla of Toronto.

 

HONSBERGER, Lynda Diane  -  Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at St. Mary’s General Hospital, Kitchener. Lynda was born 68 years ago in Timmins, Ontario and was the daughter of the late Desmond Hisko and former Marie Hamelin.

Lynda will be forever missed by her husband Doug Honsberger.  

Loving mother and step mother to Chip and his wife Tara Seiling, Riley Honsberger and Leigh Debenham.  Cherished grandmother to her 5 grandchildren; Koby, Ashley, Cooper, Amelia and Gabriel. 

Lynda will be missed by her Brother Bob Hisko and sisters Sandra Lubenkov and her partner Frank Melcher and Gail Funnel and her husband Wayne.

Beloved husband of Nellie for 60 years. Loving father of Ellen Korpel (Don), Peter Korpel (Marsha) and Marilyn Dorey (Rod). Proud Opa of Alicia (Scott), Maureen, Nathan (Jackie), Jonathan, Jordan (Lexie), Amanda, Emily, Ty and Cody and great-grandfather of Caleb, Jacqueline and Olivia. Survived by his brother Bert in Holland.

 

Roe CarlROE, Carl Alexander  -  Carl's long journey through life ended on July 15 at Chartwell-Westmount Long-Term Care Residence in Kitchener, just two months short of his 95th birthday.

Born in Toronto in 1922, Carl grew up during the Great Depression and proudly served his country in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War's Battle of the Atlantic.

Returning home, he married Ruth, raised a family in postwar Willowdale and resumed what would be a four-decade career as an electrician, then factory maintenance manager, at Ferranti-Packard Ltd., which manufactured giant electrical transformers.

WIPP, George Howard  -  Passed away peacefully at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the age of 83.

Loving husband of Ann Marie for 31 ½ years. Cherished father of Scott in Manitoba, and Brad (Kim) in British Columbia. Proud grandfather of 8, and great grandfather of 5.

Predeceased by his parents Howard and Reeva Wipp, his son Paul, and his sister Elizabeth Snow.

OUELLETTE, Paul Lucien  -  Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and support of his family at Lisaard House, Cambridge on July 14, 2017. Paul was born in Edmonton, Alberta 61 years ago and was the son of Lucien Ouellette and Rachel Casavant.

Cherished father of Cathryn, Carolyn and Andrew and loving grandfather of Trejean. Brother to Louis Ouellette.

Paul was a successful Master Electrician and an accomplished tradesman.  He was loved and respected by many and will be missed by all.

Wright RobertWRIGHT, Robert Charles (Bob)  -  Of Guelph, passed away on July 14, 2017 in his 85th year.

He will be dearly missed by his sons and daughters-in-law, David Wright and Beth Reade, Bruce Wright and Darlene Blair, his granddaughter, Sarah and grandson, Ben.

Predeceased by his beloved wife of 54 years, Ruth Wright (nee Craig).

Born in Windsor, Bob moved to Guelph in 1939 when his father became the wartime manager of Zephyr Looms. He was a student at GCVI High School. After graduating from Queens University, he returned to GCVI for his entire career, initially as a History teacher and later as a Guidance Counselor. He became the Head of Guidance and the President of the Ontario School Counsellors’ Association. He commanded the GCVI Cadet Corp and was a Major when he retired from the Reserve Forces.

 

Genner DonaldGENNER, Donald L.  -  Don passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital on July 14, 2017, with much of his family by his side.

Don leaves his children, Noah (Annette), Ari (Rhonda) and Devin (Alyssa). As well as his brother Larry and sister Jayne. He will be forever missed by his grandchildren Aly, Isaac, Annabella and Otto.

After graduating from the University of Waterloo Don worked for many years at the University of Guelph and Compusense.

Vassell AlfredVASSELL, Alfred Leopold  -  It is with great sadness that the Vassell family announce the passing of a loving  husband, father and grandfather, Alfred Leopold Vassell, (Bunny), at  Sunnyside Home on July 14, 2017.

Alfred, 78,  was predeceased by his wife of 40 years Loris May Vassell. He leaves behind children Jennifer and Morris of Toronto, Joan, Sharon  and Alfred Jr. (Lil-Marie) of Kitchener.

Alfred also leaves behind sisters Eva and Cecilia Vassell and Ezemenda Connell, brother William, nephew Alphonso Hylton (Alma a.k.a Dotty), and many other nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his many grandchildren and  great-grandchildren.

 

Shewchuk MorrisSHEWCHUK, Morris Walter  -  At age 83, on Saturday, July 14, 2017 at Stratford General Hospital passed away peacefully with Millie Chambers his loving partner of 36 years by his side. Born in Wakaw, Saskatchewan, son of the late John and Helen Shewchuk.

He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory, his partner Millie Chambers. His children: Sonya (Peter) Shewchuk-vonKaufmann, Debbie (Mike) Shewchuk-Jones, Sherry (Lindsay) Krieser, Wayne (Teresa) Houle. His Grandchildren: Austin, Kyle, Adam (Kat) & family, Andrew (Shannon) & family. His sister: Elsie Marshall. Brother in-law: Ed Klopoushak. Sister in-law: Adele Shewchuk. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Cressman GraceCRESSMAN, Grace  -  It is with great sadness that the family of Grace Cressman announces her passing on July 14, 2017 at Golden Years Nursing Home, Cambridge at the age of 95.

Grace was the last surviving child of Jack and Eva (Baer) Francis.

Born in Waterloo Township in 1922. She married Carl Cressman. They spent their time with a wide circle of friends playing cards, curling, travelling and many trips to Chesley Lake for weekends with friends in their Rook club.

 

BOWMAN, Levi  -  Passed away at his residence in Hawkesville on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at the age of 50 years.

Levi was the son of Nelson and Susannah (Martin) Bowman of Hawkesville, brother of Esther and David Martin of RR 3 Wallenstein, Nancy and Alvin Gingrich of Dunsford, Mary Ann and Mervin Martin, and Lovina and Josiah Weber, both of RR 5 Listowel, and Henry and Ada Bowman of Hawkesville.

He is survived by his aunt Nancy Martin of Hawkesville and 29 nieces and nephews.

 

Docksteader RonaldDOCKSTEADER, Ronald David  -  Passed away in the early hours of the morning on Thursday, July 13, 2017.

Ronald was the loving husband of Cheryl Docksteader. He was the cherished father of Tara Marshall, and Ron (Kim) Docksteader, and the father-in-law of Travis Marshall. Papa had a special place in his heart for his 6 grandchildren, Jaylynn, Cameron and Brea Marshall, and Annabelle, Magenta, and Grayson Docksteader.

Ronald was the beloved brother of Pat Pilon and Joyce Sigrist (Arno). He was predeceased by his sisters Betty Brownley and Shirley Hugget, his brother Harvey Docksteader, and brothers-in-law Robert Pilon, and Rufus Brownley. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by many friends, especially Wendy.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret. Loving father of Frank (Dorothy), Joe (Julia), Bill (Kathy) and Joanne Toth (Rob). Dear grandfather of Shaun (Amanda), Nicholas (Ariel), Kathryn, Brad (Sarah), Bethany, Wesley and Hanna; great grandfather of Jasper, Barrett and Levon. 

Sadly missed by his sister Angela McCarthy (Jim, deceased) and by many nieces and nephews. 

 

Sunnucks RonaldSUNNUCKS, Ronald John  -  (March 21, 1949 - July 13, 2017)  -  Born in Toronto into the Sunnucks and Reynolds families on the first day of spring; lived over the years in Etobicoke, Arkell and Guelph.

Ron loved a good chainsaw: he could position an empty pop can and drop a tree on it. He loved nature, made friends with the one-legged robin who hung out on the back lawn, with the two cats from next door, with any dog he met. He loved his wife Hedy, his son Jason, playing shuffleboard with his friends at the Red Chevron Club, going for breakfast at the Airpark Café.

Over the years he worked on the renovation of the Fergus Market, on the construction of the Guelph Dam, and in building maintenance; he drove long-haul trucks, and snow plow for the City of Guelph. He restored old furniture and sold it out of a booth at the Aberfoyle Antique Market.

 

Hamm VictorHAMM, Victor Jacob  -  Passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Innisfree House at the age of 90.

Beloved husband of Hilde Hamm for 67 years.

Loving father of Lillian Murphy (Todd) and Anita Brenner. Cherished grandfather of Cameron and Taylor.

 

Johnston RoseMarieJOHNSTON, Rose-Marie Therese (nee Roy)  -  Rosemarie passed away on Thursday, July 13 at the age of 62, with her husband Robert and daughter Michelle by her side.

She was predeceased by her parents Roland and Antoinette, her mother-in-law Marion, and one sister, Huguette. She is survived by two brothers, Francois (Linda) and Bernie, three sisters, Suzanne, Jeanette (Gordon) and Deanne, sister-in-law Beth, father-in-law Paul, and many nieces and nephews.

Rosemarie grew up in Edmonton, Alberta until she moved to Kitchener in 1990. She had many fond memories of holidays and weekends spent in the rocky mountains and missed them terribly.

WRIGHT, Eleanor Elsie (Lichty)  -  Passed away peacefully at the Wellington Hospice on July 13, 2017 after a long battle with Congestive Heart Failure.

She was a long term resident of Cambridge with her late husband of 67 years, Cecil Wright. She spent her last 4 years of her life at Arbour Trails Retirement Home in Guelph.

Eleanor was the cherished mother of Wayne (Anne) Wright of Guelph and Kristine (Wright) Thompson and the late Bruce Thompson of Minneapolis. She was the beloved Grandmother of Eric (Molly) Wright, Lauren (Raffi) Vartanian of Guelph, Brian (Lindsay) Thompson, Kevin (Kim) Thompson of Minneapolis and great grandchildren Levi and Zachary Wright and Margot Vartanian of Guelph.
