For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

As the son of a customs official, he was raised in border towns across Ontario. Sault Saint Marie was where he felt most at home; 'The Soo' is where he met his beloved wife Shirley, and where they married in 1967.

Jones DorothyJONES, Dorothy Joyce (Harmer) -  Passed away peacefully at Stratford General Hospital, on July 9, 2018 at the age of 92. Daughter of Cyril and Angela (Hogg) Harmer.

She is lovingly remembered by her son David Jones (Lynda) of Woodstock and daughter Amanda Gauler of Exeter, her 7 grandchildren; Stephanie, Chris, Jeff, Jason, Andrea, Katie, Matthew and their spouses and her 14 great-grandchildren.

Alice was predeceased by her husband Jim, on December 10, 2009.

Finch RuthFINCH, Ruth Myrtle Alberta  -  At age 99, formerly of Stratford, passed away peacefully at Lapointe Fisher Nursing Home, Guelph on July 8, 2018, Born in Rankin, Ontario May 8, 1919, daughter of the late Edmund and Louise (Schultz) Krueger.

Ruth and her husband Lawrence owned and operated Lawrence Finch Cleaning and Maintenance from 1947-1988. She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, Stratford.

SCHNURR, Dennis Joseph Paul  -  It is with great sadness that the family of Dennis Schnurr announces his sudden passing, at his home in Drayton, on Sunday July 8 at the age of 63 years. 

Formerly of Kitchener, Dennis leaves behind his loving spouse and friend Cheryl.

Her memory will remain with her son W. James Blacklock her daughter-in-law Claire Mullie, her granddaughter Adrienne, grandson Julien all of Toronto and her sister in law Dorothy Blacklock of Guelph. 

BAILEY, Paul George - Peacefully at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Saturday July 7, 2018 in his 67th year, with his beloved wife of 42 years, Janice (nee Toy) by his side.

Paul was born and raised in the Cambridge (Galt) area. Paul and Janice made the home of his maternal grandparents, Lew and Jean Purdy in Flamborough (near Sheffield) their home.
