Husband of the late Amy Martin (2010). Father of Nora, at home, Irene and Steven Eby of RR 1 Atwood, Elvin of RR 1 Dobbinton, Jason of RR 2 Chesley, and Fern of RR 1 Dobbinton. Grandfather of Carolyn Eby.

Brother of Lloyd and Vera of RR 1 Elora, Aden and Susie of RR 2 Clifford, Wilma of Elmira, Fern and Melvin Weber of RR 1 Linwood, and Erma and Mervin Weber of RR 1 Palmerston.

 

Dobbin MaryDOBBIN, Mary Lorraine (nee Gerrard)  –  Passed away at Hospice Wellington, Guelph in the early hours of Monday, October 23, 2017, one day before her 89th birthday.

Loving wife of Frank Dobbin of Guelph, and mother of Frank (Katherine) of Cambridge, Debi (Bruce Shultis) of Guelph, Patrick (Suzanne) of Kitchener and Sheilagh (Scott Grills) of Brandon, Manitoba.

Grandmother to Catherine Dobbin and great-grandmother to Liam, and grandmother to Matthew (Sylvia), Samantha and Nathan Grills. 

Lorraine was predeceased by her siblings Patricia (John Mifflen), Shirley (Robert Yetman), Barbara (Peter Halfyard), Faye (Al Landry) and John (Betty), all of the Halifax area. 

 

GRISTEY, Leasa May  -  Of Guelph, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Health Care Centre following a battle with cancer on Monday, October 23, 2017, at the age of 43.

Beloved wife of Nino DeNardis. Loved mother of Sharrisa Fleming. Cherished grandmother of Luvenyx Panneton-Fleming. 

Beloved daughter of Mervin (Kathy) Gristey and Shannon (Art) Howell. Dear sister of Scott (Karen) McCormack, Roddy Wrice, Jerry (Vickie) Machen, and JJ (Crystal) Gristey. Will be sadly missed by her stepmother Pat Gristey, her aunt Sherri (Dave) Henderson, aunts, uncles, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

Gardy DavidGARDY, David John  -  Following a courageous battle with leukemia, David (age 63) passed peacefully into the Lord’s presence, surrounded by family, on October 23rd, 2017 at Grand River Hospital.

Born in Orillia, March 9, 1954, David is predeceased by his mother, (Delphine Brandon), father (John Gardy), step-father (Ronald Dillabough), and brother, (Paul Gardy).

David will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Carolyn, and their children, Tricia (& her husband Doug), Matthew (& his wife Tina), and Lauren (& Andrej), as well as five grandchildren; Savannah, Benjamin, Brooklyn, Colten and Addisen.

Phillips ColleenPHILLIPS, Colleen  -  It is with heartfelt sorrow that our family announces the passing of Colleen Lorna Mary Phillips nee Keegan age 87 years at Grand River Hospital on Monday, October 23, 2017.

A Sudbury native, Colleen and her husband Gord raised their family in Thunder Bay, Sudbury, Fergus, and Clinton before retiring for their twilight years to Tillsonburg. A Registered Nurse for over 40 years, Colleen had fond memories of helping others especially during her time with the Children's Aid Society in Sudbury and at Huronview in Clinton. Her knitting needles have now gone silent having produced thousands of 'Izzy' dolls and clothed a multitude of NICU preemies.

 

Costello RitaCOSTELLO, Rita  -  (1921 – 2017)  -  Formerly of Bell Island, NL. It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of their mother in her 97th year.

She was predeceased by her husband Peter and 22 brothers and sisters.

Left to mourn are her children Frank (Marg), Mary, Jim (Jean), and Raymond (Doris). She leaves 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and many very close friends.

Also survived by her sister Sheila Brackley, of Dersingham, England. Will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews Diana Whinney, Giles Brackley, Diann Lutz, Debra Rank, Cameron Price and their families.

Predeceased by her husband Lloyd Kieswetter in 2003. 

Beloved mother of Shirley (Dave) Ainsworth, Brian (Marilou) Kieswetter, Sandy (Randy) Hergott, and Garry Kieswetter, all of Kitchener. Loving Grandmother to Wendy (Clyde) Gaudette, Heather (Barry) Sullivan, Jennifer Kieswetter (Greg Grolle), Wesley Kieswetter and Melissa Hergott. Loving Oma to Zachariah, Josiah, Addison, Luke, Justin, Ryan, Teagan, Declan, Victoriah and Calisiah. 

 

Wagner EvelineWAGNER, Eveline Margaret  -  Passed away peacefully on Monday October 23, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener at the age of 96. 

Survived by her only sister, Dolores Chalmers. Cherished mother of three daughters, Judie (Hal) Werner, Debbie (Larry) Spiegelberg, Dale (Richard) Schmidt. 

Grandchildren, Amberlea (Joel) Melloul, Troy (Ronda) Werner, Lisa (Scott) Hennick, Cory (Brittney) Spiegelberg, Brent (Rose) Wagner, Devin (Marijke) Wagner, Becca (Kerry) McKay, Ryan (Tammy) Schmidt, and Sheila Schmidt.  She also leaves behind 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her special friend, Darby.

 

Allan LornaALLAN, Lorna Sibbald (nee Cook, Pace)  -  (1922-2017)  –  On Monday, October 23, 2017, at the Hamilton General  Hospital, Lorna passed away peacefully surrounded by family.

Lorna grew up in Hamilton, but lived most of her life in Kitchener-Waterloo. An avid swimmer, water skier, golfer, and traveler, she lived a long and full life. She was employed with the K-W School Board at KCI and was a life-time member of Trinity United Church.

Lorna was predeceased by her loving husband Hugh Allan. Lorna was a loving Mother to her son, Don Pace and his wife Lynda, her daughter, Pam Boutilier and her partner, Carol Dillman, and her step-daughters Liz Arnold and her husband, Dave, and Jane MacPherson and her husband, George.

 

Hamments TylerHAMMENTS, Tyler James  -  Passed away as result of a motor vehicle accident on Monday October 23, 2017, at the age of 32 years.

Cherished son of Douglas and Patricia Hamments; Beloved brother of Nathan Hamments (Victoria) and grandson of Ilene and Jack Davis and Leone Hamments; sadly missed by his girlfriend Korrina Chaston, cousins, extended relatives and his wide circle of friends and work companions.

Tyler was a General Machinist. He loved fishing and tattoos. Tyler lived life to its fullest. He put his all into everything he did! He worked hard and played hard!

 

Kenney EleanorKENNEY, Eleanor Grace Kenney  -  87, passed away peacefully at Cedarcroft Place, Stratford on October 22, 2017.

Born in Kuhryville, Perth County, daughter of the late George and Grace (Wootton) Kenney.

Eleanor taught all of her life in Blyth, Oakville and Stratford until her retirement.

She was a member of the United Church of Canada and was a volunteer with Friends of the Festival.

Payson GregoryPAYSON, Gregory Arthur  -  Passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 22, 2017, at the age of 51 years.

Loving partner of Bobby Charlton and her children Brian, Brad, and Jessica, and grandson Liam.

Devoted son of AnnaBelle Payson. Loving brother of Debbie Payson, Tony Payson, and Liann Payson. Lovingly remembered by his nephew Tyler, brother-in-law Bert and Linda Chilton and their children Katy and Kristen, and sister-in-law Jackie Payson and Albert Skraba and Jackie's children Tabitha and Neaca. Also lovingly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Predeceased by his father Ray Payson and step-father Alex Payson.

 

Houben JamesHOUBEN, James 'Jim' Jacobus  -  It is with great sorrow that the family of James 'Jim' Houben announce his unexpected passing on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017. 

Jim was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and is survived by his wife and best friend Diane (Maloney).

He lived in Wartburg for much of his career, then enjoyed semi-retirement at McCullough Lake, Grey County, before moving back to Wartburg to spend more time with his grandkids.
 
His son, Adam, lives in Ottawa with his wife Ann Balasubramaniam and their 9 month son, Keeran, who loves laughing with Grandpa. His daughter Jenny lives in her childhood home in Wartburg, with husband Brad Weber, and three of grandpa's favourite blonde grandkids, Coleton (11), Hannah (8), and Blake (5).
