For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

Sheehy BryanSHEEHY, Bryan Joseph  –  Passed away suddenly, at the Guelph General Hospital on Friday, November 3, 2017.

Bryan Joseph Sheehy, in his 64th year was the loving father of Chris Sheehy and his wife Nicole, Colleen and her husband Chris Roth, and Dan Sheehy. He was the proud grandfather of Sierra, and Jackson Sheehy, and of Kiefer and Bodhi Roth.

Bryan was the dear brother of Janette and her husband Andy Castellan, Alan Sheehy and his wife Diane, and Kevin Sheehy and his wife Sharon.

Predeceased by his parents Jack and Jean (Weir) Sheehy. Survived by many nieces and nephews.


Byrne AndrewBYRNE, Andrew (Andy) James  -  Peacefully at home, surrounded by family on Friday November 3, 2017 after a long and dignified battle with cancer. Andy joins his beloved, predeceased wife Joan for a Sunday morning nine on the fairways of heaven. 

An athlete, entrepreneur, dreamer and believer, Andy is survived by sons Gary (Carla Goegan), Terry (Judy), sister Oney and brothers James (Shay) and Gerry. Cherished uncle to Tara (Dan); Papa will be sorely missed by Daniel, Sarah, Colin, Joshua and Hannah. 

Andy is predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Hannah; brothers, Larry and Tommy and sister Stella (Freddie).

Loving wife of George Whetham. Mother of Carrie Whetham of Missisauga, Kenneth Whetham of Brampton, and Lisa and Gary Lewis of Mount Forest.

Grandmother of Alex Whetham, Brittany, Zachary, and Juliette Whetham, Kirsten Lewis and Mike Hinz, Katelyn and Alex Priddle, Karlie Lewis, Gavin Lewis and Jenny Kroes, Kassandra Lewis, Garrason Lewis, and Graydon Lewis.


Hartung LorraineHARTUNG, Lorraine Margaret (Long)  -  Of Palmerston passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, November 3, 2017 in her 88th year.

Beloved wife of the late Gerald Reuben Hartung (2016) for 63 years.

Sister of Bernice Noble of Palmerston and the late Lawrence Noble (1992), the late Mary Johnston (2014) and her husband Bill Johnston of Listowel. Sister-in-law of Mildred Hammond of Waterloo, John Hartung of Palmerston and late Ardith Hartung (2015), Laverne and Joyce Hartung of Aberfoyle, Ken and Inez Hartung of Guelph, Joan Hartung of Palmerston and the late Lyle Hartung (2011), Wayne and Shirley Hartung of R.R. #1 Gowanstown, and David Hartung and his friend Lillian Henry of Palmerston.


Brown MargaretBROWN, Margaret 'Edith'  -  Passed away at St. Mary’s General Hospital, Kitchener, on Friday, November 3, 2017 in her 89th year. 

Edith was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived and sadly missed by a sister-in-law Arlene Brown, nieces, Jacalyn and Jennifer and one nephew, Gary and their families in British Columbia as well as many cousins and her friends.

Predeceased by her Parents David Brown and Esther Margaret Kyle as well as her sister Barbara and brother Douglas.


SALTER, Brian Ray  -  Passed away peacefully on Friday, November 3, 2017 at the age of 57. 

Brian lived a quiet life and kept to himself, but that didn't mean he didn't touch the hearts of many, for Brian had a heart of gold and was full of generosity and love. Brian is survived by many friends and neighbours who considered him family. He will be missed. 

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 14th from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Barthel funeral home with a Memorial Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. As per Brian's wishes, cremation has taken place. 


Magee NancyMAGEE, Nancy Ann   - July 8, 1962 - November 2, 2017

Passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer surrounded by friends, family and her beloved dogs, Harper and Scout.

She was predeceased by her parents Wynnell and Donald Magee. Nancy is survived by her three sisters, Barbara Magee Turner (Richard), Janice Jocelyn (Larry) and Susan Madzik (Jozef) and nieces and nephews, Courtney and Andrew Turner, Madi and Brett Jocelyn, Caitlyn and Adrian Madzik.


Guenard MarieGUENARD, Marie Aldea  -  Passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Place, Cambridge, ON on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the age of 86.

Predeceased by her husband Henri.

Loving mother to Stanley Guenard (Joan), Susan Cobb (Melvin), Richard Guenard, and Marcel Guenard (Arlene). Cherished sister of Ida Bilodeau (the late Laurence) and Denis Baillargeon (Evelyn). Beloved grandmother of 10 and great grandmother of 17.

Predeceased by her 3 brothers and 9 sisters.       


DA SILVA, Maria Simas (Labatt)  -  Passed away suddenly, in Cambridge on Thursday, November 2, 2017 in her 79th year.

Maria is the beloved wife of the late Jose Da Silva, special mother of Nancy and Isaac Anderson. Maria will be forever missed by her granddaughters, Jenna and Ruby Anderson.

Also survived by her brother, Jose Oliveria, nieces, nephews and other family members. Predeceased by her parents, Manuel Francisco Labatt and Maria (Ribeiro) and sister, Maria Leal Lima.


Ward JackWARD, Jack  -  At Listowel Memorial Hospital on Thursday, November 2, 2017, Mr. John Charles 'Jack' Ward of Gowanstown, in his 93rd year. 

Husband of the late Hazel (Spencer) Ward and the late Evelyn (Baldree) Ward.  

Father of Steve and Janice Ward, and Cindy McLean, all of Gowanstown. Grandfather of Mike Ward and Reena Phillips, Shawn and Lori Ward, Matthew McLean and Kerry Irwin, Angel, and Sammy, and great-grandfather of Spencer, Noah, and Ella. 

Sadly missed by Evelyn's family.


Armstrong MarionARMSTRONG, Marion Elizabeth  -  Passed away peacefully on November 2, 2017 at the Westmount Long Term Care Home with family at her side.

Marion is survived by her nieces and nephews. 

Predeceased by her parents, Grace and Arthur Armstrong and her sister, Joan Ann Read.

Marion’s family would like to thank the staff of the Westmount for their kind and compassionate care of Marion during her stay there.

Adored mother of Clair (Mark), Andrew and Susan (Colleen), and grandma of Ella and Declan.

Beloved sister of Maggie (Peter) and Chris. She will be deeply missed by many nieces and nephews, their families, and so many wonderful friends.

Predeceased by her husband, Hugh, her parents, Margaret and William Pope, her sister, Dorothy, and her infant son, Gregor.


Bast HowardBAST, Howard  -  With deep sadness we announce the death of Howard Bast on November 2, 2017 at Grand River Hospital, at the age of 82 years.

Cherished husband and best friend of Pauline (Martin) for 60 years. 

Loving father of Paul (Christine Matsuda), Valerie (Paul Lyon) and Michael (Janet Lumsden). Proud grandpa of Kierstin, Madison and Callie; Taylor, Sydney and Brooklyn; Gisele and Emerson. 

Howard is survived by his sister Irmgarde Miller and sister-in-law Dorothy Bast.  Howard was also blessed with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.


Scarfone JosephSCARFONE, Dr. Joseph Domenic  -  (DDS)  -  Surrounded by loving family, on November 2nd, Dr. Joseph Scarfone passed away peacefully at the age of 99. He was born April 24, 1918 in Welland, ON. 

Beloved husband of Margaret for 67 wonderful years. 

Loving father of Joe (Lynda), Janice (Don) Carmichael, Judy (Ron) Antenbring, Jeff (Rosanne) and John (Irene). Cherished grandfather of Kathryn (David), Lisa and David; Jackie, Kevin (Kayla), Robbie, Lauren; Christina (Peter) and James; Joseph and Nicholas; Laura. 


Zurbrigg RuthZURBRIGG, Ruth Anabel (Henderson) Zurbrigg  -  Passed away at Fordwich Village Nursing Home on Thursday, November 2, 2017 in her 82nd year.

Ruth Anabel (Henderson) Zurbrigg was the beloved wife of Stanley Zurbrigg, and  mother of Verdun Zurbrigg and his wife Joanne of Howick Township, Shelley Zurbrigg of Waterloo, Evelene Weber and her husband Ray of Wingham, Sharon Zurbrigg of Brockville and Les Zurbrigg and his wife Jane of Howick Township.

She will be remembered by her grandchildren Brittany and Kyle Kennedy, Nathan Zurbrigg, Bradan and Angela Dietze, Bryce Dietze, Blake Dietze, Kent Zurbrigg, Karlene Zurbrigg, and Kristin Zurbrigg; and by her great-granddaughter Bria Bradley Dietze.


Woodley MartinWOODLEY, Martin Douglas  -  Passed away suddenly, on Thursday, November 2, 2017, at the age of 59 years. Born on April 22, 1958, he is reunited with our loving parents, his mother, Margaret Woodley (Harvey) and father, Francis Arthur Woodley. 

Martin aka 'Shlubba' is survived by his sister, Margo Milloy and her husband Leonard; his niece Amanda Milloy and her fiance Scott Langman; and his nephew, Brandon Milloy. Great uncle to Bella Milloy and James Francis and new baby. 

Martin was a gentle giant and will sadly be missed by family out west and the UK as well as his second family at his home away from home, the Fat Duck Pub, with Rose, and Simon and all his many friends who loved him like their family too.
