For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

BUTSON, Florence Cecelia (Hartleib)  -  Passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the age of 95.

Beloved wife of Leonard and loving mother of Connie Stewart, Roderick (Patti) and William (Rorraine) and special grandmother to Christina, Sarah (Jocelyn), Robert (Ruth), Leanne (Peter), Jennifer (Daniel), and Greg (Lyndsey) and great-grandmother to Joseph, Ethan, Caleigh, Ava, Leah, Annabelle and Elleen.

Dear sister of Margaret Muma, sister-in-law of Shirley Hartleib, Ruth Hartleib, June Wray, Ron Butson (Anne), Donna Butson.

Besides her parents, Francis and Emma Hartleib, she was predeceased by a son, Robert (in infancy), son-in-law, Bruce Stewart, brothers, John, Anthony, Leon, Robert, Donald and Jerome, sisters Connie Copeland and Theresa Hartleib (in infancy), also brothers-in-law Roy Muma, Mike McCauley, Ken Copeland, Jim Million, Dick Wray and Barry Butson, sisters-in-law Irene (Vance) Day, Helen Hartleib, Lena Milliion, Grace Hartleib, Mary Butson.

She was selfless and caring for her family and always enjoyed family events. She was proud of her wartime service building airplanes.  She worked in retail and enjoyed teaching Sunday School at Parkview United Church but she especially loved babysitting her grandchildren. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening and decorating.

We would like to thank the staff of Cedarcroft Place for their compassionate care of Florence.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Florence with the family during the memorial visitation at W.G.Young funeral home, Stratford, on Tuesday, May 15 from 7-9 pm and on Wednesday, May 16, from 10 am. until the memorial service and reception at 11:30 am. Interment will follow at Avondale Cemetery.  

Memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Society may be made.
