DROLC, John Jr. -
It is with great sadness that the family of John Drolc Jr., of Guelph, announce his sudden passing on Friday, May 10, 2013, at the age of 55.
Born on March 6th 1958, John is the son of Helen and John drolc Sr. Brother of Alex Drolc, brother in law of Filiz Drolc, and Uncle of Mia, Isabella and Sebastian Drolc. John Jr was a long time resident of Guelph where he lived since leaving his childhood home in Slovenia with his parents. He loved his dog Sultan, he collected stamps from around the world and was an avid coin collector. John Jr was an outgoing and friendly person who loved to talk to people.
He had a kind heart and was always there when you needed him, family was important to him. John really enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephew. He will forever be remembered in our hearts You left us way too soon our sweet "Uncle John". We will miss you dearly.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church, Guelph, on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow.

Peacefully at Stratford General Hospital, on May 10, 2013 Bruce McLellan of R.R. 3 Lakeside passed away at the age of 82.
Born in Nova Scotia, raised a family in Kitchener, and retired from selling real estate to enjoy his last years in the countryside.
Beloved husband of Dorothy (Courtnage) McLellan and the late Joyce (Robinson) McLellan (2004).
Loving father of Brenda (Pat) Montani, Margot Howard, Greg (Patty) McLellan, and stepfather of Dave (Lisa) Courtnage, Chris (Wayne) Young and Don (Gail) Courtnage. Proud grandfather of Angie, Jaime, Daniel, Amy, Katie and the late Cody and step-grandfather of Heather, Stuart, Pam, Chris, Jessica and Katelyn.
By living his life with passion, generosity and kindness, he encouraged all of those he loved to do the same. Cremation has taken place.

A resident of Stratford, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 9, 2013 in his 72nd year.
Frank was a former employee at Valeo for 25 years, a member of the Army, Navy, Air Force Unit 261, Stratford and a member of the Young Vets Cribbage League.
He is survived by his wife Sylvia of 46 years, his sisters Sandie McCann, Stratford, Stella Smith, Listowel, Doreen McGlynn, Clinton and numerous nephews and nieces.
At Frank's request, cremation will take place and there will be no funeral service. Arrangements out of Stratford.

CLARKSON, Sister Eileen, CSJ (Formerly Sister Marie Noel) -
Died peacefully on May 9, 2013 in the 73rd year of her religious life.
She is predeceased by her parents, Robert Francis Clarkson and Rose de Lima Marie Crevier and by her sisters Eleanor and Helen and her brother Frank.
She will be dearly missed by her sister Margaret and her many nieces and nephew and by her friends and sisters in the community. Sister Eileen entered the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1940. She became a teacher and taught for nearly twenty years in schools in Toronto and British Columbia. In both Kitimat and Vancouver, she was principal of the school. Sister Eileen then studied for a new career as medical record librarian. She did this ministry for many years both at St. Michael's Hospital and in the Infirmary of the Sisters of St. Joseph at Morrow Park.
When Sister Eileen moved to the Sisters' residence at 74 Wellesley St. West, she ministered in the service of hospitality to visitors.
Sister moved to the Sisters' residence at Mutual Street in 2006 and then to the new residence at 2 O'Connor in March of this year.
Sister Eileen was always ready to welcome people and to pray for their needs.
Her wake will be held at the Sisters of St. Joseph's residence at 2 O'Connor Drive, Toronto on Sunday, May 12, 2013 from 3:30 p.m. with a Prayer Vigil at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 2 O'Connor Drive on Monday, May 13th, at 10:30 a.m.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ed Grogan, in his 97th year, on the morning of May 9, 2013, at Hospice Wellington in Guelph, Ontario, following a very brief stay at the Guelph General Hospital.
Lovingly missed by his wife of 73 years, Elsie.
Loving father of Sylvia Green (Dr. Ron Green, deceased) of Guelph, and Kathleen Elliott (Colin) deceased April 14, 1994. Very proud grandfather of Claudine Dassoy-Beirnes (Sean) of West Kelowna, BC., and Gregory Alexander Dassoy of Vancouver, BC, presently in Melbourne, Australia. Equally proud great-grandad to Chiara and Aidan Jake Beirnes.
Many thanks to Dr. Martin and the nurses and staff of the Guelph General Hospital and the staff of the Hospice Wellington, all of whom were wonderful.

Passed away after a brief illness at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the age of 85.
Predeceased by her husband Louis Heiman in 1989. The youngest child of her family, Audrey was predeceased by brothers Maurice and Nelson Wedge and sisters Pearl, Gertrude, Evelyn Wedge and Bernice Colombo.
Audrey is survived by her nieces and nephews and their families.
Audrey retired from Arrow Shirt Company after 38 years of service.

HOLLINGER, Hazel Louise (nee Becker) -
(1925 - 2013) - Hazel passed away peacefully with her family at her side on May 9, 2013 at Grand River Hospital following a stroke.
Beloved wife of the late Floyd W. Hollinger (1987).
Devoted mother of Susan and Michael Fitzgerald and Tim and Debbie Hollinger. Loving grandmother to Melissa Fitzgerald and Dave Edgar, Emily and James Gaede, Michael Fitzgerald, Vicki and James Zettler and Jeffery Hollinger. Special great grandmother (GG) to Henry Gaede.
Predeceased by infant son Richard Floyd, her parents Lawrence Albert and Mary Louise Becker, brother Harold Becker and lifelong best friend and sister-in-law Olga Becker.
Hazel lived her entire life in Kitchener and Waterloo. She worked as an administrative assistant at Equitable Life and Olivetti Canada, but her true devotion was her family. She and Floyd were avid golfers and charter members of Conestoga Country Club. A gifted artist, Hazel was a founding member of the Trillium China Painters Guild. She was also a member of the International Porcelain Art Teachers, Inc., sharing her special gift with many students.
Hazel recently moved to Waterloo Heights Retirement Apartments. Though her time there was a mere 10 months she made deep and meaningful friendships. She shared her infectious sense of humour with all she met, and enjoyed teasing and being teased. Hazel had a true appreciation for the nonsensical side of life; chasing fairies and threatening to hop on her witch's broom. Hazel was as content and happy at Waterloo Heights as she has ever been and we thank the staff, personal care workers and residents for their love and support.
Thanks also to the dedicated nursing staff of 5A, Dr. Wang and Maureen Evans for their kind and compassionate care during this difficult time.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Hazel's life will take place in Kitchener on May 13th. Hazel always had an eye for colour and since this is a celebration of her life please don your most cheerful spring colours in lieu of the drab shades of mourning. It's what Mom would have wanted!

Colin died in Kingston on May 9, 2013 from complications following heart surgery. He was 61.
Mourning his loss are his partner of 29 years and best friend John O'Neill, siblings Karen Whelpdale (Gavin), Pam, and Barry (Lynn), and extended family and friends.
Colin was born in Brantford to Mary and Kennedy Jones, who predeceased him.
He grew up in Oakville, and graduated from U of T Law School in 1975. He practised law for several firms, and ended his career working for Cambridge Shopping Centres (now Ivanho- Cambridge).
Arrangements out of Millbrook. A private cremation has been arranged. A celebration of Colin's life and achievements will be announced at a later date.

Marnie (Shepherd) passed away peacefully, on May 9, 2013, at Parkwood Mennonite Home, Waterloo, at 92 years of age.

MITCHELL, John 'Mitch' -
On Thursday, May 9, 2013, the World lost a wonderful man, husband and best friend of Kitty Mitchell of almost 32 years. John (Mitch) Mitchell, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Saviour, at St. Mary's Hospital in his 91st year.
John was born in Lancashire, England and came to Canada in 1959. His parents were the late John and Ethel Mitchell.
Predeceased by his son Raymond, and survived by daughter-in-law Michelle, son Allan (Darlene), grandchildren Colin (Claudia), Andrea Heyduk (Slav), Ryan, Jonathan (Karla), Kyle and Adrienne Jenkins (Ken) and several great grandchildren.
Mitch was a great dad to his stepchildren, Linda Shaw (Don), Brian Dahmer (Margaret). Susan Dahmer, Bruce Dahmer and a supportive grandfather to his step-grandchildren, Chris (Ashley), Mike, Matthew, Peter and Heidi. He is survived by his brother, Ronald in England.
John was a veteran of World War II and had served with the British Army for five years. He was a member for over 20 years of the Happy Harmonica Band and had served as President for several terms. John was a ladies hair stylist for 30 years, worked at Barrday Textiles Inc., and later co-owner of Canadian Narrow Fabrics.
Funeral services will be conducted at Benton Street Baptist Church (90 Benton St., Kitchener) on Thursday, May 16th at 11:00 am, followed by refreshments. Interment to follow.

Beloved husband for 43 years to Konstanca Nikolica (Spariosu). Dear father of Maria Olar (Sorin) and Veronica. Dear grandfather of Petar and Olivia Olar.
Loving son of Maria. Fondly remembered by Cuscra Ana Olar, sisters-in-law Maria (Alexander) Milicevic, Dragelina (George) Belu, and Lelita (Joca) Badju. Predeceased by his father George (1999) and infant brother Nicolaie (1945).
Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in Serbia, Romania, United States and Canada.
George was born in Vladimirovac, Serbia on October 16, 1945. He arrived in Canada via Pier 21 Halifax in 1965 settling in Hamilton, Ontario. He met and married his beloved wife Konstanca in 1970. His journey took him to Kitchener in 1976. In 2010, he retired from the University of Waterloo.
Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Romanian Orthodox Church, 2150 Bleams Rd. on Monday, May 13th at 10:00 am. Fr. Ichim officiating.

I am sad to announce the death at the Guelph General Hospital, of my much loved mother, in her 96th year, on May 9th, 2013, surrounded by loving family.
She leaves one daughter Wilma. She was predeceased by her best friend and loving husband Austin C. (1984) and five of her six children Audrey (1941), Elizabeth Ann (1952), Dianne (2003), Weldon (2008) and Sterling (2010). Will be sadly missed by grandchildren Joanne Fischer, Bob and David Welsh, Tim Frank, eight great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and daughter-in-law Britta. She is survived by brothers John (NB), Donald (Guelph), sister Viola Diodati (Niagara Falls), sisters-in-law Gwen and Jean Nichol, and Maria Santin, and many loved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings Margaret Cunningham, Boyd, Dan and Bob Nichol, Roberta Millard and in-laws Frank Diodati, Barbara, Harriet and Ilene Nichol, and Archie Cunningham.
There will be a celebration of mom's life on Monday, May 13th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Knox Presbyterian Church in Guelph, conducted by the Rev. Johan Olivier. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, as well as during the reception following the service.

BOND, Sandra Vivenne —
Passed away peacefully in Guelph on May 8, 2013.
Predeceased by her husband Edwin (1991) and her uncle, Frank Gywer.
Lovingly remembered by her mother Vera Amesbury, her aunt Lilian Gywer, and her brothers and sister Ken McCarthy, Judith Sander (Gerd), David Amesbury, and Alan Amesbury (Susan). Also lovingly remembered by her friends Elinor Skinner, Janet Daly, Paulette Jolley, Lorna Ronald, Eleanor Dawson, Loreen Kelly, and her beloved companion animals. Sandra was devoted to her Godchildren Jennifer Ronald Craven and Christopher Ronald, who loved her greatly and will miss her laughter.
Sandra was born in Bristol, England. From a very early age Sandra was devoted to the cause of animal welfare. She immigrated to Canada in 1962.
Shortly after arriving in Canada, Sandra settled in Guelph where she became actively involved in the Guelph Humane Society. She remained active for over 40 years. During that time Sandra initiated and worked tirelessly to promote Humane Education and Spay/Neuter Programmes.
Sandra was a dedicated and creative fundraiser with an exceptional ability to bring people together for animals. Sandra’s advocacy for animal welfare was exemplified through her long-term work as a member of the Animal Care Committee at the University of Guelph, member of the board of Pet Trust, and director and officer of the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies. The excellence of Sandra’s work was evidenced by the respect shown by her peers.
Sandra was particularly proud that the Guelph Humane Society was awarded the first national Model Shelter Award in 1987. She was a recipient of the Frederick A. McGrand award for her lifetime contribution and devotion to animal welfare. Sandra was also generous and unostentatious benefactor of a wide range of charities, both locally and nationally.
A celebration of Sandra’s life will be held at the Cutten Fields, Cutten Hall, on Friday, May 10, 2013 with the Service commencing at 9:30 a.m.
If you wish to honour her memory, Sandra requested that donations be made to the Humane Education Trust Fund of the Guelph Humane Society.

Passed away at the Elliott, Guelph, on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in her 92nd year.
Lena G. (nee Pagnan) De Sero immigrated to Canada from Caselle Di Altivoli, Trevisio, Italy, at two years of age, with her mother Anarcisa.
She was the beloved wife of the late Giovanni Domenico De Sero (1996).
The dear mother of Tony (Nancy), Theresa (Albino Bortolon) and Irma Cazzola, all of Guelph. Lena was the loved Nonna of Tina (Ted), Anthony, Salena (Warren), John, Elsa (Rob) and Bis Nonna of Cameron, Jordyn and Peyton.
She was the dear sister of Bruna Cavasin, Anita Fraser, Launda Burke and Tony Pagnan and sister-in-law of Raymond Melancon. Lena is survived by many nieces, nephews and life-long friends. Predeceased by brothers Leno, Bruno and Angelo Pagnan; sister Mary Melancon; brothers-in-law Charles Cavasin, Archie Fraser, Hank Burke; and sisters-in-law Barbara, Hilda and Sheila Pagnan.
The Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Church, 175 Emma St., Guelph on Saturday, May 11th at 11 a.m.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, to the Elliott Community or to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Passed away peacefully at Trinity Village Care Centre on Wednesday May 8, 2013.
Mary was in her 100th year and was born in Toronto. She was a member of St. Anthony Daniel R.C. Church, Kitchener.
Loving wife of the late Harry Habel (1994).
Mary is survived by her extended family Richard (Mary Lou), Tom (Kathleen), and Mary Jane Mueller all of the U.S.A. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews and a brother-in-law, Fred Cockburn.
Predeceased by her parents, John and Catherine Cushing; sisters Theresa, Rita, Bernice and brothers Joseph, Father Leo Cushing C.R. and Bernard in infancy.
Mary's family will receive friends and relatives at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, 51 Benton at Church St. Kitchener on Friday from 7-9pm.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Anthony Daniel R.C. Church, 29 Midland Drive, Kitchener on Saturday May 11, 2013 at 10:00 am with the Rev. Earl Talbot as celebrant.
Interment: Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.

Joe was in his 90th year and was born in London, England.
Best friend and beloved husband of Iris for 32 years.
Dear father of Rick (Luanne), Brian (Cathy), Linda Salo, Dianne Cook (Randy), Margy Douglas (Larry); step-daughter, Wendy Harrison and his first wife Dorothy for 25 years.
He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Tyler, Adam. Liane, Leif, Katie, Lisa, Amanda, Deanna and four great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, Charles and Alice Judd, a son Rick and son-in-law, Tony.
Joe had immigrated to Canada in 1947 and in 4 years started his own business building homes and apartments.
He was a member and Past Master of Temple Lodge #690 GRC A.F. and A.M. in 1972 and was a member of the Home Builder Association and President in 1964-1965.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the SCHREITER-SANDROCK FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 51 Benton at Church St. Kitchener on Monday May 13, 2013 from 12 Noon till time of service in the chapel at 1:30 pm with Rev. Katharine Edmonston officiating.

Surrounded by his wife and children, Roy Montgomery Lai (66), passed away peacefully May 8, 2013.
Dear husband of Venice and loving father to Sacha (Jim) Svirk and Vance (Nickey) Lai. Roy leaves precious memories with his grandchildren Liam, Kennedy, Taylor and Steven, his siblings Ling, Truemin and Rose, his nieces and nephews, and many loving relatives and friends.

Passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the age of 70 years.
Beloved husband of Lizzie Martin. Dear father of Clarence and Judy Martin of RR 4, Elmira, George and Salema Martin of RR 1, Waterloo, Ruth and Mervin Gingrich of RR 4, Aylmer. Also survived by eleven grandchildren.
Brother of Simeon and Ellen Martin, Leah (Mrs. Nelson) Martin, Lydian and Peter Brubacher. Son-in-law of Magdalena Martin. Brother-in-law of Menno Martin, Sarah McHolm, Elvina and Wesley Bowman, Harvey and Annie Martin, Melvin Bauman, George and Almeda Martin, Mary and Orlan Martin.
Predeceased by his first wife Hannah Martin (1992), his parents Wendel and Elizabeth (Bowman) Martin, his brother Nelson Martin, sister-in-law Eva Bauman and brother-in-law John McHolm.
Arrangements out of Elmira. Relatives and friends may call at the home of George L. Martin, 2044 Lobsinger Line, RR 1, Waterloo, on Thursday, May 9th from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. and Friday, May 10th from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and 2-6 p.m.
A family service will be held at the home on Saturday, May 11th at 9 a.m., then to Conestoga Mennonite Meeting House for further public service and burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Born January 11, 1936 in Glasgow, Scotland and came to Canada in 1964.
Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Stirling Heights Nursing Home, in Cambridge, ON.
Predeceased by her parents John and Jane McCormack and husband Thomas McWilliam.
Survived by her two sisters Jeanette McEwan (Tommy) and Joan King (Bob), her daughter Fiona Dumas (Gary) and her son Ken McWilliam (Colleen). Also survived by her grandchildren; Justin Dumas (Amanda) and Sheena Dumas (Derek) and several great-grandchildren.
A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 11th.
